Well, these days, I am getting a lot of questions, often not able to answer all my followers individually, so I decided to make this video, in an attempt to address some of these inquiries. First, as you are all aware, PhD entrance exams in Algeria 2023 have been announced, and these are not just any exams, these are contests in which all students compete to win a seat and become a Ph.D. student.

I Appreciate all The informations that you've Dealt with .. but as a Personal Point of View .. I think that the students should choose whatever makes them feels Comfortable studying .. as myself i choosed civilization and literature ( am obsessed with the British/American Ancient history ) .. even though they didn't recommend it alot to me ..

Hello, i have a question! So i studied didactics as my specialty and got good marks and all but i really have no interest in it ! I'm more interested in literature and Civilization because I'm obsessed with reading books and everything that has to do with it. The problem is that people tell me that i shouldn't choose something I'm not specialized in because i will not be accepted, is that true? Please help.

Thank you a bunch for clarifying these matters which are of paramount importance. I am a second-year English degree student and I work as an air traffic controller simultaneously. As you may know, English language proficiency, safety and security are inextricably linked to one another in the aviation industry. Aviation stakeholders are working day and night on the proficiency issues to get rid of or at the very least mitigate the number of aviation incidents and accidents stemming from miscommunication and misunderstanding. From my personal perspective and I might be wrong, the issues I mentioned above relate to applied linguistics and I tend to this field throughout the MA degree as well as the Ph D. the thing is at our university they do not differentiate between applied linguistics and didactics and use both terms interchangeably. Do you think that my tendency to opt for applied linguistics is rational? Many thanks in advance.

So even if I succeed in applied linguistics phd exam, they will impose on me a ropic related to teaching (that's what iam expecting because it is all about teaching)? If so, will it be similar to didactics when tackling it? Because Iam really not interested in all these ideas that you mentioned about teacher role, learner autonomy...etc
And can I prepare for two spacialities for next year phd exam? Which are language sciences and applied linguisctics ( in case there was no exam in one speciality, I will choose the second one) ? Or I can focus only on one speciality

I really do appreciate each word you are providing. Thank you very much. Sir, the thing, my major is Language and Culture, and I am somehow struggling with all this. The way of studying, the modules deal only with the general aspect whether it is Didactics or Applied linguistics. We miss the details comparing to those who are specialized in purely Didactics or Applied linguistics or Literature. It is like having it all but at the same time not actually all. So, how should I treat such a matter?

British and American studies
British and American Literature
Post Colonial Literature
TEFL
Psychopidagogy
Translation
Discourse Analysis
Intercultural Communication
Methodology
Study Skills
Please Sir I need a suggested way to think properly towards this major.

perhaps , before I answer your question , what is the title of the master project . Or , what is written on your degree . Yeah , it seems you study everything. another thing . Which is important when it comes to multipliers ?

The Answer to the first question my major is Language and Culture (the title). I am a master one student. And for the second question: I really don't know. It would be wonderful if you tell me what is from not.

Yes everything is included but not as the same manner as other majors, separately as only Didactics major or Linguistics major or Literature major.

sir, should I apply for language and culture in my town's university (bcs I don't want to travel elsewhere AND stay on campus without a mahram) or apply for applied linguistics but in another city? I am so lost, though my religious beliefs are super important for me
I think it is important to feel comfortable to win , maybe you should opt for your city . Culture is not that hard . If there are near cities, I am sure you will not need to stay at the residence. However, travelling is still a must. Best of luck rabi yfar7ak nchallah
