@johnagain Here in The Netherlands not everywhere..only some music stores sell his music! You can also buy it on the internet at for instance amazon.com...
we are so lucky to have a truely innovative musician like omar in these times!!! although it wouldn't ever turn out as good, i wish people would try to copy the mars volta and omar and such these days. like everyone tried copying hendrix and such. cause i'm scared that omar's music will just be kind of on it's own and not influence a musical movement like the great music of the previous generations did. i.e. the beatles, hendrix, zeppelin.
huge! they played in Brussels in a small hall for 150 people...What a Funk! i love TMV, but the master omar rules with his solo concept! (thomas is BEYOND rules, anyway...). Definitely, he's the only man on earth that could make me say "Hallelujah!"
Fuckin' Amazing ... do you have videos where Ximena sang with the band ? besides , video quality is amazing bro , what camera were you using ? I really enjoyed watching Pridgen playing this kind of grooves . Long Live Omar Rodriguez & Mars Volta .
i don't get it 100% my self but he was influenced by larry harlow. a keyboard player from the strongest salsa group in puerto rico. cedric said in an interview "He's a keyboard player , but he influences guitar playing."
he doesn't know when to lay back in the mars volta. like all the chilled parts are followed by his intense drumming, it kinda ruins the dynamic and feel. but i saw him with the orl group yesterday and he did an amazing job. i'm guessing he's either adapted himself to omars style or he gets a different vibe from less people on stage. but either way, it's an improvement!
I totatly agree with Jewman, he needs to lay back a bit. He is improving howver. But like listen to when they play Tetragrammaton.....ugh I hate the slow part when they play live now, its just so.......way too fast for the slow dynamic. I dunno, im not in the mars volta so what do I know I suppose, Jon did it cooler in IMO. This however......kicks ass.
this is best music ive seen in my life
glad to see bands that still play good music

How many of you think that euro fans appreciate TMV & Omar's music more then US fans? Any opinions? PS thanks for posting.

@3:24 Omar makes it look so perfect and smooth. Sweet vid!
