this might be omar's best song. and to the people talking about drugs: read Omar's interview on Jambase, where he states his creativity didn't truly take off until after he quit drugs.
10 People simply cannot handle artistic genius from the mind of Omar. You must forget that he is the composer of it all, his bandmates simply enact his will.
Does anyone have any insight as to why Omar's solo stuff still doesn't have a bandcamp page or online distribution? I know he and Sargent House parted ways a few years ago. I'm bummed that his complete discography isn't available to stream/download.
GeneralJoystick most likely licensing issues...his albums have been released on many different labels (some defunct, like 3oneG) who probably own distribution rights. Also, it's Omar. He's releasing 26 solo albums on Ipacec this year (every two weeks) as well as new ATDI album, Antemasque, the Crystal Fairy album that just came out, etc etc Omar has no shortage of NEW music to release. Probably doesn't have too much desire to rerelease old stuff.
He just makes every one else look bad. If it takes you two years and a few “producers” to document your music, then maybe you should be doing something else with your time. I don’t mean anyone in particular, it’s just that ORL seems to have a steady flow of music every month that’s diverse enough to be avant-garde, but still maintains his vernacular so you recognize its him no matter what he’s doing.
@Laciiza So, for example, according to your belief, songs like "On the run"/"Time" introduction (Pink Floyd) are just noices? I think that omar experiments with differents ways of guitar playing, different effect mixtures, differents styles, etc. Tell me (I saw your channel) Christina Aguilera, The Power of Ra and a half of your uploaded videos can do that? I don't think so.. I never thought that there's a line in music or art.
@Laciiza Your opinion. This is one of my favorite songs on the CD, next to mesanje imputante. That thought process you demonstrated is why justin beiber and katy perry are so damn famous, while artists such as cedric are completely underrated.
@canthinkverywell I think he's always known enough theory to get Major and minor Keys, i think he's just reached a point in his life when he finally wants to write in a major key and also has a big enough cult fan base that writing in a major key isn't gonna stop him from selling albums (not that it matter much to him if this album doesn't sell). But he writes songs in 7/8 and 5/4 i think he at least has a basic understanding of musical theory
Me gusta mucho The Mars Volta, Adoro a Cedric, [So fucking hot!!!! ] pero también creo que [ El disco de Xenophanes estuvo muy bueno, en lo personal la primera que escuché y me encantó fue la de "Mundo De Ciegos"] Omar es un muy buen músico, Arriba Omar!!!!!!!!!
@federic0 Well that's true is comparison to Bedlam, but I think that Octahedron has a lot more "simplified" music. I think a lot of ideas that were very large have just become more concise in these albums. It depends on the album as well, because some earlier Omar Rodriguez albums (not Volta) are pretty complex as well. Guess it's not good to make generalized comments haha.
well... it may have taken a lil longer than just that, but who am i to say? some demons pack a mean battle. but, its been YEARS since we were young fucks growing up in El Paso aka Hell Paso or, my personal nickname for that city... Hell's Laso. because it always seemed to suck people back in. A very... 'different' place to grow up. we had THE tightest lil music scene though! great bands, small venues, and a great people. sorry, i think i just had a flashback.
@Tengent no dude, it's all about going BEYOND. I don´t need to copy no one, in fact, it's more likely for people to copy me. Sorry but's that the way it is. You need to feel and hear, not just to watch. This is something weird (the video and song). Enjoy!
I can't even speak Spanish and I absolutely love this! Omar and Cedric's projects whether they are together or individual are just brilliant
I do speak spanish and i have no idea what he saying
@@alexrosales2323 Típico de Omar
you will when its the right time, spanish speaker or not...
The number of ways this song kicks ass are far too many to count.
Omar is a tenor with pretty high notes! Who knew! nice timbre too!
This is probably the best solo song Omar has put out in my opinion. I hope the whole Un Escorpion album is this good. Wow.
This is the way you do it, the way it should be done. Thank you, Omar.
this might be omar's best song. and to the people talking about drugs: read Omar's interview on Jambase, where he states his creativity didn't truly take off until after he quit drugs.
One of my favorite 🙂
I mean he certainly became more productive by the sheer quantity of work he put out since.
That's what we all tell ourselves. It wasn't the drugs, it was our soul! Load of BS
this video and song are both so mesmerizing. i watch it all the time god i love omars voice too
To be honest, I almost like the other projects of Omar Rodriguez more than the Mars Volta now. So good.
THE VIBES MAN...THE VIBES. LOVE IT.
En Brasil también escuchamos este sonido. Its very cool. Felicidad Omar
the back round noise is awesome.
I beg Omar to sing more often in the Mars Volta.
Dicen que si escuchas a Omar Rodriguez Lopez, tu alma se derrite!! Brilliant
10 People simply cannot handle artistic genius from the mind of Omar.
You must forget that he is the composer of it all, his bandmates simply enact his will.
Listening for this track 5th time in a row...

@silversobe by that you mean the same effects applied right?
excelente!!
buena chino....me encanto.........
como no amart omar de mart
He is tripping HARD!
Maybe when he wrote this song, but in the video he's in a very dark room and his pupils are extremely constricted, more likely that he's on opiates.
Qué tan lejos puedes ir con esta canción?
Anyone know what keyboard Marcel is playing?
midi perhaps
i snagged the limited 150 person pre order edition of this album just now.
@Hutchentoot dude where did u bought those albums?
He just makes every one else look bad.

Not everyone works at the same pace. Nobody is more right or wrong for their process.
Hay que prender algo para escuchar bien esto!
@DandelionVolta that sucks I hope they will release lyric sheets
@Laciiza So, for example, according to your belief, songs like "On the run"/"Time" introduction (Pink Floyd) are just noices? I never thought that there's a line in music or art.
