That’s the perfect all around family boat, I got the same boat except it’s the 18x48 for my family of 4, decided to go a little narrow because we run a lot of woods on our side of the swamp. Can’t beat a Go-Devil for durability and reliability. My family has been running them since the early 80s and between the 5 my immediate family owns they all still operate and function properly!

Great looking rig! Can't beat a Go-Devil. I started duck hunting 40 years ago and I remember those big long tail motors they built, I think at that time they were the only ones in the mud motor market. Just subbed to your channel, really enjoying it. Good luck and God bless.

Have you decided if and when you might go up to Tennessee and fish the Tennessee River and Pickwick Lake my brother lives almost on Pickwick Lake and fishes it almost daily during this time of the year while the catfish are spawning and has been wanting me to come up there now
@@OutsidetheLevees 10/4 thank you for the reply. I’ve got an old 1860 Lowe aluminum with about a 7 degree deadrise so it’s got a very slight v bottom that I bought new in 2006. It’s got a 50 merc on it and it’s done me well, just doesn’t get me to where I need to go during duck season when these north Texas lakes get super low. I know outboards and surface drives are two different animals, but do you find the 40hp motor pushes your boat good with decent loads in it?

About like most aluminum boats. It’s heavier gauge aluminum so a tad better but it has open water limits like any other

Yes very good push even with a hunting load and it is a heavier boat than your Lowe so it will take chop a bit better.
