This was the Kingsmen line up when I discovered southern Gospel and though the memories are great the blessing is better

Thank you so much for sharing this. It's a real blessing to hear, for the first time when my song, Roll Out The Red Carpet was rehearsed and sang to an audience by The Kingsmen. I'll never forget the evening that Big Jim called me to inform me they were going to record it. Believe it or not, as I wrote the words of the song and played the music on my piano, I envisioned Eldridge Fox and the Kingsmen singing it.

I so love ❤️ their singing and I find the words so comforting and make me feel close to God 🙏.
Wow would I love to be there.

Honestly, this is what made The Kingsmen so enjoyable. Try to imagine a group like Gold City doing so much off-the-cuff singing. Thanks to Big Jim for always making it fresh.

Always loved Garry’s soft lead voice. If anyone knows how Shep is doing these days please let me know.
Boy I miss my friend Gary Dillard! I got to know Beaver when I bought a steel off him. Such a nice and friendly man.

Love the Glory Road and the Kingsmen. My favorite group.
Back in the 70’s the quartet I was in singing tenor, this was my song.

They are still good and Ray is still going strong but Jim Hamil was the definition of irreplaceable as both a singer and a personality

This "Kingsmen Quartet" were based out of Asheville NC- you may be thinking of The Kingsmen, who sang Louie Louie? Lots of folks thought the same but different genres of music.

@@terrifox6837 Oh, you're thinking of The Statler Brothers, They were actual brothers.

What? Wyoming? Read your history before posting things like this. This group started in 1956, in NC, by the Mckinney Brothers. And they are still singing under the lead of Ray Reese.
You must be thinking of some small local group.
