This will be the second winter I don't drive my vic. I've worked so hard to keep it relatively rust "free" that I can't justify driving it from now until April LOL
I’ve been doing this rust repair for the past year slowly and this is the one thing. I’ve been trying to tackle. So funny to see you guys doing the same stuff.
I have a fist size hole by the idler arm, so its done. Also by the right control arm. NY don't care about rotted rocker panels. It can have rust up to the door handles. Only a broken frame or suspension attachment points.
You can buy the walker pieces fairly cheap and put whatever mufflers you want on. That's what I did with my 2004 at first, but eventually swapped it for the magnaflow cat back kit. watch these two videos: th-cam.com/video/eHQdeUdpaAM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/IkKIfKW7Z1Y/w-d-xo.html
@@OldeCarrGuy Wow yea, i see the borla and magna flow SS kits are VERY nice! buuuuut pretty expensive tho, would be like half the price i paied for my whole car 🤣. SO it looks like you were un happy with walker pipes as they aged. I do see an even lower cost kit then the walker. Its the AP / EASTERN KIT12810104 "aluminized steel". Any thoughts on that one?
Good job. Rust proofing or yearly Rust Check at St Andrews would have saved all this work. Surprised that everyone in Atlantic Canada is not rust check or krown undercoating every year.

One day I'll have a rust free car!
Thank you Jason and Jr I know my Club will appreciate this Video Have a Great Day.
You bet. Thanks for sharing!
The new improvements are priceless
Oh no! There is a price! I’m still paying for it!

You bet you are I didn’t realize you also keep the books .
Life in the rust belt you gotta love it.
Yup!
Panther Power 💪
Off topic but you and your son look exactly the same its incredible. Awesome work on the vic
Hey, thanks
Passenger side rocker just fell of my 2011 CVPI yesterday, might do a skeleton replacement instead of redoing the whole length.

Glad you enjoyed it
Good job, brand new used!😎👍
Good to go!

Turned out good
Thanks Bill
Good for another 20 yrs!😎
Let's hope.
What gauge metal are you using for the patches?
20 guage is what we use. It's the most cost effective. The price goes up significantly thicker than that.
Thanks.. I weld worse than that. 🙂 Makes me feel I can do my '08. What are the dimensions of the template, if you don't mind.
I did them in 3 foot sections as that's all my metal break ban handle, but i believe they were around 5"
@@OldeCarrGuy Oh...Sorry @3:20 I was asking 'bout your Dad's template. I thought it would be helpful.
Nice job. Also I sent you some pictures .
Got it
I did the same thing on my 2001 lincoln town car
Hey olde car guy! My car is a 2004 grand marquis. Whats the most cost effective to dual exhaust this? Can i use the dual walker kit for the crown vic?

@@chaoscraig5v7o If you live in the rust belt, I'd stick to stainless otherwise, i'm sure it's fine.
@@OldeCarrGuy Eh im on long island NY. Also what the heck are those strange can/tube sections hanging off the side of the cat flange?

100%. We see it too often!
WHAT JACK IS THAT?
It's just your standard run of the mill 6000 lb scissor lift.

👍✌
My panels are so clean you can eat off them.
Rub it in! lol I’ll have a clean one soon!
So lets say the entire panel is rusted out lmao, is it even worth doing?
Most definitely! It may obviously be more work but these cars are so worth saving!
You've got your work cut out for you.
Literally! 😂
