Love this video! I live in Miami and sailing to Alaska from Seattle on Friday. For a 7-21 day land or cruise I never check-bags -- I utilized a carry-on and backpack. Yes, I wear Barbie size clothing and back skinny. So I say skip the bulky clothing; go for cashmere/merino wool and wear your boots. I agree, pack sneakers and because I am a spa junkie bring OKA-B sandals. I bring clothes I can wear from sunset to sunrise and always best dress. No Amazon fashons for me. There are too may other venues to shop for stylish clothing and see 10 other clones in your outfit on any given day.

In follow-up the cruise was amazing and I over packed which I was trying to avoid coming from Miami with only a carry-on. I never check luggage as I pack efficiently -- global business travel is my jam and I carry those packing habits over to vacations via land or sea.
With that said the weather was so mild on this 10-day cruise. For this port intevnsive experience excrusions we planned every day (hikes, walks, helicopters, iditarod style dog mushing, gondolas, canoes, school buses, motor coach and fishing boats). We walked on 3-glaciers, saw whales, bears, sea lions, moose, otters, blad eagles, foraged for berries, and sailed on water than we could swallow/swim and saw trees we could not possibly climb. We ate local seafood daily at some great restaurants (as none is served on-board the ship). Again, I had a carry-on and over packed, no layers were necessary -- the AC in my suite was colder than the outdoors. I did not need 85% of the winter and or rain gear I purchased for this trip and gifted it to an female entertainer who was my size -- as I would not need any of this clothing in Miami.
When we returned to Seattle is was 90 degrees and sunny in September; I had already planned to work from there for the next 5-days. I was picture perfect.
