VoicePlay are a very exciting group as they love to include theatre in their productions but also their arrangements, their versaitlity, and the beauty of their harmonies is just outstanding. Anything of theirs you choose to watch will not disappoint. Also Geoff Castellucci, the bass here, with a range of five octaves, has his own channel in which he mostly clones himself to create his own backing group, is yet another treasure hoard.

Voiceplay has so many good songs, and the bass, Geoff Castellucci, has his own channel where he does solo stuff- my favorites from that are his cover of Misty Mountains and Blackbird. Check it out of you want.

New subscriber! Among the several a capella groups today, Voiceplay is the number 1 group vocally in my opinion, and most of what they do is musical theatre, unlike some of the others, which adds much to their performances. Geoff Castellucci, the low bass (who can also go very high) has been estimated to have a 5-octave range. He is one of the original creators of Voiceplay along with Layne (the beatboxer). Geoff (pronounced Jeff) has his own channel as well, in which he has done incredible covers! Check out his "Monster Mash," "House of the Rising Sun," "Sixteen Tons," "Blackbird," and his latest "Shenandoah," to name a very few! You'll be amazed!

Voiceplay has always been the best acapella group in my view. They go the whole hog, not only singing, but make-up, set, lighting and everything. It's a rabbit hole that few people ever really get out of once they've seen them.
When Geoff (bass) and Layne (beatbox) get together, you have to keep reminding yourself that there are no instruments at all in this. Geoff can do a perfect bass guitar sound and Layne's beatboxing is spot on, It's hard to imagine it's all done with their mouths. Both Eli (pronounced Ellie) and Layne can stand in for Geoff on bass, even though Eli can also hit tenor notes with ease too.
Rachel potter, the one you saw in Wicked singing (A Chance To Fly at the end), doesn't sing with the group normally, but she is good frineds with them all and does sing with them quite a lot. It's worth going back through some of their old stuff to see her featured quite often. ALL of the members of the group not only sing, but they get into character, in their productions, so the singing is as if they WERE the character, it makes the song sound more genuine.
There have been changes in the group over the years, the only originals are Eli, Layne and Geoff. Cesar (as in Julius Ceasar) is the newest member and is a great addition to the group.
It's worth checking out their latest The Greatest Showman, it took them weeks to create the set for that, which only goes to show their dedication to their performances.

I think that VoicePlay is unique in that they cover so many types of music. They do a lot of covers of songs that are older like Can’t Help Falling in Love with You or Carry On my Wayward Son. They do exceptional medleys. Their Wicked medley, the Greatest Showman medley, Queen in 5 Minutes, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes are all spectacular. They do a lot of Disney since many of them started performing at both Disney World and Universal as they’re in Orlando Florida. You just posted this but I wanted to alert you that in about a week they’ll be doing their newest and it is incredibly dramatic. It is, as many of their songs, related to gaming. So if you’re not a gamer you may not enjoy it as much. But I don’t do games. I’m an old lady. But I love the HALO theme and this new one is unbelievable. It just came out on their Patreon page and should be released probably around the seventh.

Welcome to the voiceplay rabbit hole. If you like Disney they do several Disney melodies. A chance to fly , songs from wicked is amazing. More pop like and you have if I was a rich man/girl and bang.
    Everything they do is amazing.
Most are arranged by Geoff (the bass) or layne (beat boxer, was zero the dog with the glowing nose in this one)
The group has changed a little since this Earl high tenor with the beard left and jnone all in black left last Yr, although has come back for a couple of them.
Ele bald guy, is an amazing tenor and very rock style in his singing but can also be so smooth when needed.
Cesar , not in this one, joined last year and has an amazing almost angelic voice, worth listening to hoist the colors to hear it.
They are trying other singers out to find a 5th member.

And so you have been hooked my dear. Welcome to a large group of Acapella fans. Most of us (so far as I can tell), love VoicePlay for theatrics, Home Free for a bit of country, and of course Pentatonix who really restarted Acapella popularity in 2011 after appearing on and winning a TV show called The Sing Off. VoicePlay and Home Free were on the show the following year.😊

I enjoyed your reaction as you watched this, The group was doing their interpretation of the scene in the film Nightmare Before Christmas. Several numbers from that movie have been covered: This is Halloween, What's This, Kidnap the Sandyclaus, and The Oogie Boogie Song.
If you are unfamiliar with the film it is still available here on YT for free.
It'll give you an idea how they stayed faithful to the movie elements of scenes they covered.

Geoff Castellucci and Tim Faust are arguably two of the best bass singers in the world and both can sing both high and low. I recommend you react to Tim Faust's cover of 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.' Tim and Geoff have both mentioned that they have great respect for one another. If you haven't already, please react to Home Free, that's the group Tim Faust is in.

New Sub every time I see someone do VoicePlay. Absolutely my favorite group to listen to. Some good ones to check out are...
    Queen in 5 Minutes
    Greatest Showman Medley
    Little Mermaid Medley
    Moana Medley
    Carry On My Wayward Son
    Halo theme song
    Hoist the Colours
    My Mother Told Me
    Panic! Part 1 & 2
    Boy Bands in 5 Minutes
    Ect, ect,ect...
I could go on and on.
Then watch Geoff Castellucci, the Bass,on his solo channel where he clones himself to play anywhere from 3 to 5 different parts at one time. His Halloween songs are fantastic
    Headless Horseman
    Monster Mash
But he covers so many styles
    16 Tons
    Take Me Home Country Roads
    Shenandoah
    Blackbird
    House of the Rising Sun
Honestly I love everything they have put out.
