I know that I’ve commented this on another platform, but the Gold Standard system paired with the pad washer is seriously such a game changer. Used the pad washer for the first time last weekend and each time I went to it, the pad was perfectly clean. I may not get much use out of it but honestly money well spent.
Won't the coating bong with the wiper blades since they touched the coating while curing? Also the ratchet strap was such great idea, thanks for the secret!!!
I finally got around to use my detail gold standard polish ,I could not believe the difference ….I used the Rotary in slow speed as Yvan states in his videos ,,,,I could watch rotary polishing videos all day long….
Sylvie sure can swing that rotary for a great gloss! Such a wholesome vid! Keep it up! P.s. Please for the love of God don't change the rinsless to much, or keep both versions in stock (if ceramic infused) I love that it leaves a bare surface and that it cleans my Legacy sponge - used a lot of Absolute in my days and the polymer build-up is crazy meh!
Another awesome video you two! Sylvie, you have a great eye for detail and know how to get the job done correctly. It was great to see you again! My 4th order from DIY showed up today, Legacy sponge, in RW kit, Gold standard kit, and other brushes! DIY Detail ROCKS!
Im sorry to ask such a rookie question but when you say use a rinsless damp towel are you soaking this in the rinsless solution then wring out. Next it seems when you use the pad washer and rotate the pad while on top of the washer it would damage foam pads. Thanks and your videos are fantastic. Take care
I got a Hercules 8 Amp 6 in. Forced Rotation Dual-Action Polisher, can your 6.5 pads fit on it? And is this the right tool for the job?? Never polished a vehicle before but get excited when I watch your videos! I also have well water so this videos help a lot!
Yvan I just started finishing out my Polish’s with the DIY red jeweling pad on my 5 inch rotary. I can’t believe all this time I thought I was getting the best I could as far as gloss. No way was I. It’s a night and day difference for me. The nice part is I don’t have to wipe off my polish I used from the cut. Just use what’s there (add a little to my pad) and finish it out
I’d love to see a video on prep, polish and coat a vehicle that has ppf. Not sure which products can be used, which should be avoided and best practices when dealing with ppf. Thanks!
Hey Yvan, love your channel and what you do. Thanks for all your hard work that makes everything easier for the rest of us. It is much appreciated. I have a ford superduty that has the black whatever it is between the windows( I think it is vinyl but not sure). I scratched it going through some bushes. Is there any way or anything I can try to get rid of these scratches? Thanks, Bob
You guys make a great team. Wish my wife was into detailing. Yvan you've answered this many times but I'm trying to wrap my head around this. Why should IPA not be used to prep for coating? Does it really not remove polish oils? I'm sure that all panel preps has some amount of IPA why add it if it does not work? I've bought 6 different panel preps how would I know if the oils are off and the paint is ready to be costed. Btw I've also bought many DIY detail panel prep. I'm asking this as I've just bought your hydro lite for my new vehicle, I want it to have the best possible chance to last as long as 2 years before I trade it.

Hi Yvan. I noticed that you polished the windows of the car in this video but I've heard you talk in the past and say that you can't polish windows to remove scratches as the heat could cause the window to crack if I understand correctly. Do you mind please clarifying this to me please.
This wasn’t polishing to remove scratches, just to deep clean. Glass polishing requires a rayon or felt pad with cerium oxide, that combination creates a lot of heat.
@@diydetailofficial I see, meaning that it's not possible to remove scratches from windows, the only thing you can do is to replace the whole window as you have said in the past right?
@Yessolution37 yes, love the pad washer. It works well when you need to dampen a towel too for wipe off! I use it for that if I don't have a bucket of rinseless, I like that better cuz you get fresh solution every time you push down👍
I have often heard you mention you use the rotary to finish and DA to cut. Would the rotary not work with the wool pad (or yellow one for that matter) to remove the etching in this case? I just got your rotary with the gold standard polish and pads and been practicing and so far love the whole system!
Is it possible to use your 6in jeweling pad on a polisher with a 7in backing plate? The reason I'm asking is because it seems all the budget rotary polishers only come with a 7in backing plate.
