It's such a good watch because it's unscripted, relateable stuff with a good laugh. Good wee distraction from the day to day struggle for those that need it.
As an American whose grandparents immigrated from Scotland, when I started watching and listening to you, I could only understand about 20% of what you said.😂😂😂 Now I understand most of what you say unless you toss some Scottish slang around. You are both so funny and educational. Thanks for the entertainment. I love it when you make each other laugh!
This was great… when Iona was telling the car story I was watching Cammy just stare at her nodding his head when she came to the crack part…with a blank stare…and I knew…🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thank y’all for this ✌️🤍
Absolutely LOVE your banter, and I’m just a retired US doctor. Love that my favorite farmers are also readers. Thanks for this wee peek into your personal lives.❤❤❤
I recently started working on a dairy farm and my colleague got me into this podcast. I ave followed the sheep game for a while on tik tok, but love listening to the podcast as I work. Just like wee Josie, I find myself laughing out loud and the cows and calves must think I'm nuts lol. Hope this podcast goes on forever cause I love it 😂
You both win today! It’s rare I’m not able to understand but today I’ve no idea what a juke means in Scottish. My brain got stuck on “jukebox” which is a big record player in diners in old sitcoms and movies. Then my brain connected to car names in other countries which made me remember when Chevrolet tried to sell their Chevy Nova in Spanish speaking countries only to realize “no va” means no go which was why sales were poor…. And then I had to rewind and I’ve still no idea what juke means. 😂😂😂😂😂
In the States if your windshield is broken it’s covered whether crack, chip or shattered. I caught one episode of your podcast and loved the education and laughs. I’ve been going back and watching previous episodes. Cammy, lambing keeps you so busy that your new little angel will be here before you know it.💜
What a great blether to lug in on! I feel like I'm part of the conversation but I don't have to think of anything to say! 😂 That book sounds right up my hubby's street. I'll have to see if he's heard of it.
I could tell that you have read a lot of books, Cammy. It’s the only piece of advice that I ever tell young people: Read More Books There are now no excuses with the advent of Audiobooks You can never underestimate the power of Words and the limitlessness of the Imagination Hugs
This was a fun one! A little mention of lambing mixed in with a free-ranging chat. 😄 I'm keeping the 'cantankerous' Lizzie in my best thoughts as she approaches the end of her pregnancy. She's an awesome Mom and partner to Cammie. ❤
The average cost of replacing a windshield in Ontario, Canada is $300.00. You don’t have to replace it, for the MTO inspection if the chip is near the frame. Hilarious conversation, you two are great, so relaxed!
We call that historical fiction here in the US. I love listening to those types of books, and audio books are great to listen to while you're doing chores. Love these videos!
You two crack me up..... of course we are watching. Ya'all are talking about issues I can't even relate to, so it's fascinating and educational in one podcast. AND.... I love hearing Ya'all talk 💗 luv-n-hugs from Northern California, USA 😊
Just catching up on this one - Iona, I also have a Juke, and a new windscreen cost me £700 in January - just before my MOT! - but that did include paying for them to come to me! 😂 Another great podcast guys - love just hearing you chat and have a laugh together. Also, cantankerous actually means grumpy and uncooperative - usually said about old men
Love your podcasts, being an ex farmer and resident of Muirkirk I can relate to all! Iona, get your chip repaired on your windscreen if it’s not in the line of sight I did my windscreen chip myself with a repair kit cost about £20
Best of friends can always speak of interests shared or learn from each other. I feel fortunate to listen to this podcast. A few laughs, teasing and expiring each other and all of us. Puts my day in a good perspective. Thanks for all of this!
Oh Cammy, calling Lizzie cantankerous, you’re a brave man, I’d throw your hat in first if I were you! 😂 Great podcast love it when you talk about all sorts of random stuff. It was good to hear about all the extra costs and logistics involved in indoor lambing, when things were bad recently and people were commenting ‘why don’t you lamb indoors’ as if it was such as easy option!
Cammy, in the US we would call the books you like " historical fiction." I think you might enjoy "Coming Home" by Rosamunde Pilcher. It's a fictional story following a character through 1939 to 1945, based on a lot of things that the author went through herself.
Iona, it's difficult on your end to visualize, but the table is full of us having a cuppa or listening as we work. I enjoy all the podcasts because some are educational, relatable to us here and the humor usually prevails. We learn more about you both and possibly what we assume is validated by your trueness. Windscreen is a dirty word in Canada. Insurance rarely covers replacement and repairs are only temporary in our climate shifts or dangerous so forbidden. I feel for you... You both take care and enjoy your weekend 🦋🌻
You two are such a treat! I was laughing out loud, and had to go back to watch the other person's face a couple of times! It's so good to laugh, and see what sleep deprivation looks like when you are trying to be sensible. Love you all.❤
Nothing Geeky about looking up words in the dictionary whilst reading a book Cammy 😃I have always done even as a young child and still do so today (even have to google some Scottish words now)🤣
You two wander from topic to topic like Ross Nobel 😂. Iona is very patient with you Cammy, I would kick off if someone cut me off and side tracked me that often. It's pretty hilarious on here, and it's obviously because you are used to doing your vlog so well, which I watch faithfully. Thank you both for making my commute enjoyable. Sending love from Oregon USA
"Coming Home" by Rosamunde Pilcher ( that was me mentioning it with my other account). The author talks about how all the street signs and road signs were taken down, and she says it was because there was a fear of the Germans would invade and they wanted them to get lost. She also mentions that no one was allowed to ring the church bells because that was meant to be a signal that the Germans were invading.
Im sure you've heard of Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon. Tons of Scottish history but some great stories and an awesome audio book reader! Also MASSIVE so tons of hours!!
I used to drive a Nissan Qwest, loved it. But we got rid of it because the cost for parts and repairs were so high compared to other vehicles here in the Midwest USA. I think your preferred genre might be called "historical fiction " Cammie. My favorite as well. If I didn't know better I'd think you 2 finished off that maple Canadian whiskey. Nice to see you laughing. And glad to hear Lizzie is well. She'll be busier than a one armed paper hanger in a few weeks!
I was watching one of your earliest videos today, and something I miss from them is hearing some of the local sounds - bird song, the sheep and the lambs .I guess this is my nice way of saying Maybe stop talking for a little bit. lol I also miss you speaking Scots. I think that your subscribers could stand a couple minutes of You speaking Scots. Love all your videos and the podcast!
talking about the long daylight days for sheep farming, soon you’ll have 3 kids to have quality time with and a partner with whom to nourish your relationship. 🦌💌❤️🐑👍👍👍💕
My husband has dozens of yellow paper pads with words he has written down and looked up the definition. His vocabulary is incredible. His grandfather gave him a dictionary early on and told him to start.
I''m finding a lot of definitions of "cantankerous" but here's a great one-- good for animals and humans: "stubbornly obstructive and unwilling to cooperate."
Will give Ken Follett’s Eye of the Needle a go I watched the Movie many moons ago but the book sounds better Definitely Audiobooks! Listening to all of Agatha Christie’s Audiobooks with the wonderful Hugh Fraser My Comfort Food for my ears
@@FedByFarmersPodcast With Donald Sutherland. I watched it with my dad back in the day My dad loved all movies with a WW2 theme I had a crush on Donald 😁
Fun fact as you were talking about car names when Toyota released the MR2 they didnt do the due diligence and couldnt understand why sales were really bad in France but MR deux spoken sounds like the french word for shit. Love listening you both are very authentic and relatable cheers John from Tasmania
I think you mean Eye of the Needle by Ken Follett. One of the definitive war-time spy novels. Made into a movie starring Donald Sutherland and Kate Nelligan
Of course Nissan knows what "Juke " means they are a worldwide manufacturer with worldwide marketing departments. There could be a lesson to be learned by yourself in the marketing of your merchandise which obviously goes worldwide. Perhaps a little targeting with a catchphrase to a particular area blended with the merchandise's Scottish origin might be a winner in certain markets.
I love listening to the 2 of you, you’ve always something interesting to say. I looked up the title of the book, it’s called, Eye of the Needle.
That’s the one! 😁 thank you!
Aye, Donald Sutherland was The Needle.
Yes, it was a terrific film, absolutely terrifying!
It's such a good watch because it's unscripted, relateable stuff with a good laugh. Good wee distraction from the day to day struggle for those that need it.
Love listening to you two waffling about nothing in particular. Great podcast again Cammy and Iona 🥰
Me too
My Scottish uncle used to talk about "blethering" & that's EXACTLY what Cammy & Iona are doing so well!!💕💕
As an American whose grandparents immigrated from Scotland, when I started watching and listening to you, I could only understand about 20% of what you said.😂😂😂 Now I understand most of what you say unless you toss some Scottish slang around. You are both so funny and educational. Thanks for the entertainment. I love it when you make each other laugh!
My god, this is always gold. The laughs between the two of you. So good.
This was great… when Iona was telling the car story I was watching Cammy just stare at her nodding his head when she came to the crack part…with a blank stare…and I knew…🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thank y’all for this ✌️🤍
Can't hide from the camera! 😂
Brilliant, every second, dread to think what a alcohol-fuelled podcast would be like, but I would love to listen, please keep up this great work
Love Iona’s laugh. Ear hole 😂🤪🤣
Absolutely LOVE your banter, and I’m just a retired US doctor. Love that my favorite farmers are also readers. Thanks for this wee peek into your personal lives.❤❤❤

You 2 are so funny. 😂😂 My hubby asking why I'm laughing out loud 😂😂. Get some sleep Cammy 😴😴 enjoy your week 👏🐑🤩
🤣 thanks!
Some craic ,and that's not the windscreens! Ah you two should be available on the NHS , you cheer us all up .😂
I'm retired and remember how much banter there was at work and important work that we did. But now, I am at home and I miss the banter.

Respect

I agree. The Nightingale was an excellent book. I do audiobooks daily!
Love listening to you two! Too much laughter (between the 3 of us!) to listen at work and remain professional. 😂 Ear hole? Scots or slang?🤣 ❤ 🏴🐑

This is very amusing to listen to while I'm working. I like that it's not always serious. 😊
"Historical fiction" is one of my favorite genres to read and watch. (Outlander, Poldark, Downtown Abbey etc.)

Is Cammy sunburned or blushing?💕💕Iona says "cochlear implants" & Cammy's brain immediately goes way south? 😂🤣🤣💕💕
Love ❤️ and Iona talking back and forth about anything and everything even if you think you think her story is boring 😂
These are absolutely brilliant…always makes me smile and laugh😊

I love listening to you two just gab about nothing. The nightingale book was amazing.

Eye of the Needle by Ken Follett. Fantastic book
Love the chit chat!
Cantankerous means bad tempered / uncooperative / argumentative I had to ask Siri 😂
Historical fiction, I like that as well.
I think you mean Eye of the Needle by Ken Follett. One of the definitive war-time spy novels. Made into a movie starring Donald Sutherland and Kate Nelligan
I never realised there was a film! I particularly loved that it ended in Scotland 😁
Eye of the Needle written by Ken Follet. Fabulous author, check out The Pillars of the Earth!

Never heard of term Juke other than Nissan Juke
I have a Nissan Juke. I'm in California. I call my car frog because from the front it kind of looks like a frog.
Some Vehicle models are named differently in UK compared to North America maybe Iona’s car is named diff in UK only?
It's also called an Infiniti ESQ! So Juke maybe is a britishism 😂
Of course Nissan knows what "Juke " means they are a worldwide manufacturer with worldwide marketing departments.
