Lesson one: You can't compare German chocolate (or chocolate sold in Germany) with American chocolate. No joking there is actually something in American chocolate which makes it taste differently (most European would say "disgusting").
Lesson two: You can't compare the wafers either. If there is something to bake, Germans know what they are doing.
Lesson three: Germans looooove Haselnut. For the German mind, peanuts have to be salty and Haselnuts belong into chocolate. There are naturally exceptions of the rules, but as difficult it is to find peanutbutter in Germany, as easy it is to find Hazelnutcreme.
Lessen four: Germans don't really do overly spicy stuff (I suspect that is related to the lack of spicy plants growing in the area), but if they go sauer, they go sauer (usually).
Sadly there was nothing Waldmeister flavoured between your picks. You can't get more German than that.

@@swanpride Jello is something I do not really like (or to be precise: I only started to like it fairly recently). No clear-cut favorite here for me: I like the raspberry and Waldmeister equally... (or not, depending on my mood, I guess). It's a "season-food" for me (meaning that I could eat it on a daily basis for say ten days in a row and then not touch it at all for the rest of the year). Or maybe my sudden urge to try it is due to some want to do stuff as an adult that I missed out on as a child 😆)

When I was in school it was a normal treat to have fresh bread roll (Brötchen) cut in half with one or two of the chocolate covered marshmallows.
The small square type candies have been giveaways you always got two or three of them when shopping for your mother in the small corner store. In the next building.
By the way the Trolli factory was for long time in the city of Fürth not far away from you. They still have a factory sale there where you can get the stuff in 1 Kg packages at a reduced price. I used to buy it for the team at work so we had some snack next to the coffee machine in the office.

The most german thing is "Brause". You get is as a powder (Ahoj Brause), or as bricks (Brause Brocken). It is thought to be used for a drink in a glas of water, but most people just eat it as it is. It is fizzy and foams up when it comes in contact with water. It is even mentioned in the famous "Die Blechtrommel" from Günther Grass, where Oskar put it into the belly button of his girlfriend and spit on it. Very sensual.

as a German living in the US, i recommend that you try "Frikadellen" or "Fleischkuechle". same thing, names vary by region. Americans eat "Burgers", Germans have more options :). Think of the ingredients for a burger: Beef, Onions, hamburger buns, etc. Frikadellen are made from all that, plus pork, and it is all inside. They also taste good cold. much juicier than an all beef burger, all the herbs and spices are inside. they are NOT flattened! eat them with Bread, rolls, or with potatoes and such as dinner. Grill them, buy them from a street vendor, they are great.

At least since the 90's in germany we are told, that vitamins we intake via supplements (waterdissolvable ones) are mostly excreted afterwards - and aren't worth the money. I like Knoppers and love Haribo gummies. Great content. There are more sweets and Haribo's to try. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Maybe next time you can try salty snacks. Keep up the good work.
