- The Long Drive a relaxing driving game, where you can drive on the open road and veer off the path any time you like. If you see an far off gas station you can drive to it, an oil tanker far out in the desert, drive to it to grab some gas. A nice feature of this game is it allows you to play your own music, so I took full advantage of that. The gameplay can kind of feel like surgeon simulator at times with the way your body moves. And the bunnies are kind of scary, they usually end up offing themselves though. I wasn't expecting aliens which was a nice surprise. Overall it's a fun driving game and it's satisfying upgrading your car. Like always I hope you enjoy this longplay.

Am I the only one that thinks this game is both simultaneously relaxing and terrifying?
Yeah this game kinda does that to ya. The rabbits scared me a few times, their sounds and movement are very off-putting. While the driving was peaceful, and crazy.

the fallout tracks fit this game more than perfectly. i've watched this longplay several times to fall asleep and you just do such an amazing job with these longplays. thank you for the long hours you put it for us to be entertained or lulled to sleep, loopy

This game's therapeutic for me. It's immersive and relaxing driving the car in first person,even if at higher speeds the car goes apesh*t from the sligthest turn and eather spins out or you have yourself a giant crash and spend the next five minutes searching for the car parts and putting it togheter xD
Loopy is that kind of person whom has so much free time, they decide to make everyone's day using their free time
I love the video, great work as always. This game is both scary and super calming. Like every time I get into the nice vibe I remember that it's a post apocalyptic setting and that makes certain POI's and the letter at the beginning kinda unsettling.
P.S. Love the Fallout/Borderlands soundtracks I heard. Nice nostalgia blast!

Yeah I tried to use tracks that felt right with this game. And Fallouts tracks are like you said haunting but also mysterious. I like them too.

Came here to see if the game was worth buying and ended up here for 1 hour and 50 minutes just fully immersed. And my lord when the Red Dead 1 soundtrack started playing it felt so awesome because I expected it. Great Longplay! I will definitely return to watch this in it's entirety.

I am a little confused by what happened around 2:00:00.
Was the older engine lighter/more fuel efficient despite being all banged up? Or was it more about the feel of each engine versus the other?
I'm 2 years late but first of all thank you very much. Second I think I just wanted to change it up because it looked a bit newer. I'm not entirely sure if it's better some of the engines can be a bit slower/faster or just plain loud, this one might have been the exact same lol.

Wow...that was an unexpectedly somber end. Suddenly I'm left to wonder...is the protagonist of this game one of "those who survived"? The letter from the mother...was she someone who hadn't? This whole time I thought it was the long drive to find your mother, to visit her in her home, countless miles away...but now I wonder if the real goal is to find yourself...to find yourself, or die trying...
Knowing that tidbit of lore at the very end suddenly makes the desolation of this game, the emptiness, the isolation, feel all too real. What seemed like an optimistic journey at the offset suddenly is so much darker, so much sadder, in retrospect.
This game is genius. It tells you nothing, absolutely nothing, and forces you not to just know it's like to be alone in a dead world, but forces you to _experience_ it for hours on end until it's fully ingrained in your very soul what it feels like...then with just a few lines of dialogue gives every moment of that experience that you'd up until then thought little of and turns it into something meaningful and tragic. A masterclass in the art of "show, don't tell".

hard to imagine the game can be played like this when your first look at the game was Vargskelethor LITERALLY ******* and ******** everywhere, driving like a madman, and getting killed by the first enemy of the game.

At first I was very confused as to why you drove on the left side of the road, when the car models and geography pointed to a right-side driving. Then, I realized you were avoiding the telephone poles. Genius

I don't know why, but at some point I half-expected Crash Bandicoot to just drive his motorcycle past you with a huge 2nd place appearing in the lower right corner. Also I recognize some of the music in this video such as the Dark Souls 1 Character creation theme, and the Dark Souls 2 Majula theme.

So...I just have to say it, I'm a bit perplexed about the whole keeping the door ajar bit while driving. Only reason I can think that it'd help is maybe it lets you open the door and get out of the car just a _tiny_ bit faster?

I have insomnia and paranoia and this gameplay/longplay with no commentary is the best solution. After an hour or two of watching I'll eventually get tired and fall asleep. The nights I've tried this against most gameplays I've watched, isn't compared to this.. Also the UFO is adorable add to the game. #MakeUfosCute

Because I like hearing the sound of the wind as I'm driving. You can't roll down your window so I tried to lightly open the door. That's the only reason ;)

This is one of those "zen" games meant for relaxation, and it's not meant to have an ending, just drive, refuel, maintain car, repeat ad infinitum.

why do you open the door when you go?
Because you can't roll down your window in game, so I try to slightly open the door to hear the wind. It's kind of silly but I like the sound of it.
