    I've been using Rotella T 15/40 for years. It's fantastic and cheap. I use it in my street bikes and numerous other applications. I change it in my 02 kx250 based on what it looks like. Probably closer to 10hrs than 20, but I do a lot of slow, technical, enduro style riding with a lot of clutch slipping and like fresh oil. Love the Motovation!

    one thing about the torque wrench for people who are about to buy one. These bolts only take about 15 ft/lb of torque. I would highly recommend buying the best wrench you can afford. The harbor freight wrenches are no good at low torques and will over torque those smaller bolts and ruin your day.

    Very nice video, simple and straight froward.
    6 hours?? on my Raptor 700 I do oil change every 30 hours (and my friend on his YZ250F every 10). I will be broke if I'll do it every 6 hours haha. We don't have Rotellat here in Israel (as long as I know) so I'm using other known brands which are pretty expansive (so 6 hours is not an option for my pocket) 24$ for 1 liter (Full Sync).

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Nir Hason that's pricey. I pay around $3-4 for oil change. If I ride MX I keep 6 hours, for light trail riding I think 10 would be ok too.

    • @NirHason
      @NirHason 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard about that Diesel oil is heavy duty! Didn't try that though.
      I'm using for my 2T Valvoline SynPower oil both for the fuel/oil mixing and for the trans/engine oil (10W-40) .
      For the Raptor I'm using YamahaLube

    Realistically how many hours does a top end on a 2 stroke last? Before needing new piston or rings if took care of properly?
    I buy and sell bikes never really keep any but people are always hatting on 2 strokes saying they tare up a lot and all this I even see people online saying crazy thing like top end should be replaced every 20 hours which is just ludicrous

    1 are clutch and transmission oil the same
    2 what is the 13 mm drain plug on the other side of the bike(I have a 2004 sxs)
    And lastly where can you find the amount of oil you need to put in if you have no manual or if you can't find it on the bike?

Which spring where you running red/yellow/green? Did you ever adjust the brass power valve adjuster (not sure if that is what it it is called) to make it flush with the outside ring? also did this model come with the power cable that was located under the gas tank that would change the way the bikes power was delivered, connected I believe the power was more aggrieve and unplugged the bike was more rideable?

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that can be from transmission or some other parts, it happens sometimes. Make sure to have frequent oil changes and clean your strainer too. RMZ has only engine oil that runs in gearbox as well, it doesnt have gearbox oil. for the trail upgrade, play with the gearing to suit your style, depends what kind of trails you ride. get some skid plate and hand guards (wrap around are best) maybe consider magura hydraulic clutch conversion, if you clutch a lot. higher psi radiator cap so the bike wont overheat easily, 18 inch rear wheel will give you much better variety of offroad tires, you can get really fat tires for better traction on different terrain. It depends how hard you ride, but protecting your key components is always a good idea, linkage protector, radiator braces, caliper and disc protector, etc.. if you have extra $ to spend maybe consider rekluse clutch as well... good luck bro!

    How do i check my oil level? I have a 2016 250sx

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      best way is to change it, drain the old one and fill it up with fresh oil. There should be the number on the engine (850ml or similar) if not look it up online or in your manual. There is also a check screw on the engine that should be leaking oil once you take it out, but I never use it, make sure you put right amount of oil in and change it often - thats how I do it. Good luck!
