TAP Air Portugal Lisbon (LIS) ✈ Ponta Delgada (PDL) (Airbus A320neo) Business Class Flight Report 4K

Probably the longest domestic flight in Portugal - a flight to the so-called Hawaii of Europe, the beautiful archipelago of the Azores. The flight to São Miguel takes 2½ hours and lands in the middle of the Atlantic. Although there was a long delay on departure, the service on board in business class, at least as far as food and drink were concerned, was excellent and the aircraft was almost new. I completed 8 sectors in TAP, all via LUS in April to June and every one of them was late departing, by up to an hour. Yet they all arrived on time. Remarkable.

Yes, I did 4 segments and had the same experience :) It bothers me however, that the don't inform of delays in front of time, so that I could stay longer in the lounge.

ZAG-LIS-PDL TAP businesses class is a great value, less than 400€. I’m looking into doing a mileage run. You can earn almost 9000 miles on A3.

It depends which FFP and which route, but generally yes. ZAG-LS-PDL RT would give you 6600 miles & status miles with Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, for example.

Hardly the Hawaii of Europe. Doesnt have neither the warm climate or the dramatic/spectacular/luxurious beauty/diversity. The Hawai of Europe would be Madeira islands (algo portuguese). The longest domestic flight in Portugal is Porto - Lajes by Ryanair and Azores airlines.

Hardly Madeira since no volcanos and volcano craters there 🙃 Azores were for me a more pleasant and all-round experience and the temperatures are pleasant + the flora is really interesting. Madeira is nice, but was not the highlifht for me. I rather liked Porto Santo which is called Portugeese Caribean 😇

TP is far, I mean FAR fm perfect, but it is one of the safest airlines in the world and excelent valie for $. I will brme flying them on this route next week but honestly, I am dreading it. Uf tge flight delays, my idea of fun us not starting off your holiday on a rental and getting lost at 2AM in an island highway trying to get to our hotel! 😩😐
