In one of the patches recently, crab pots are now unable to be picked up for a few milliseconds after you harvest them, which is the greatest quality of life improvement of all time. No more accidentally picking up half your pots while trying to harvest them all.
Yeah, I read that in the patch notes. I don't think I've ever accidentally picked them up :P
The npcs also judge you when you drink mayonnaise in front of them
Omg a clay castle in the aquarium! First I was confused about the pineapple in the aquarium, but the I got the spongebob reference :)
kent isn’t the only one who likes a specific book! i found out robin loves the woody’s secret, i’m sure there’s others too that i have yet to find. the dialogue from those gifts is pretty cool too

The Santa event was new to me. That's so charming and makes sense with the day save animation. Thank you!

I was holding a cursed mannequin in my inventory while in my house, and standing near my spouse (Abigail). When I cycled to the mannequin, Abigail had a brief animation where she looked like she was spooked or freaked out.
I don't know if this is Abigail specific, or "spouse in your house" specific, so it might need some more testing in other places. Just remember that if you place a cursed mannequin in your house, you can't pick it up again. (or I haven't figured out how to do so).
The easiest way is to use the reaching effect of an upgraded hoe.
If you remove its clothing, you can use your upgraded hoe by holding it down to pick it up 🙂
I have one of those on my farmhouse that I share with Harvey, and that sucker keeps moving around.
Try the axe or pickaxe. Clicking on it a bunch with an open space on your hotbar works too. If you put clothes on it this is also how you take them off.
where do you find cursed mannequins? and how do people keep getting them? i haven’t found one yet

Carrot increasing horse speed and leaving cookies at Winter 24 were my favorite subtle changes on this list! Very useful.

bruh. my 1.6 run before the patch got TWO meteorites and i left them as decoration 💀
You can put mushrooms in preserves jars now to make pickled mushrooms.
When I first saw the possum it was late at night and it ran right at me so I assumed it was an enemy and was going to hurt me. I screamed and ran back to my farm lol. I spent the next season worried it would come back every night
I think the dwarf bomb price increase is because of the volcano level 5 on ginger island, that guy is selling the bombs the same price as last patch

Some of these I did discover on my own, while others I did find out.
And I may be a dumb blonde because it has been over a year since I played the game before 1.6, but one thing I noticed in this playthrough was I didn't need to put my sprinklers on wood squares anymore because in the past when you use the hoe, especially when you had like gold or iridium quality hoes, you could knock your sprinklers loose if you didn't have them anchored down with a wooden plank. I don't need wooden planks anymore. The sprinklers stay still.
the sprinkler thing was added in 1.5 and it's so useful

Here is a little tip: Every fish you catch on the lonely rock is of high quality :)
It’s not the rock, it’s just how far out you cast your bobber from the dock :)
The wiki actually has maps of the Fishing Zones and points out which tiles have the highest value. It's not just distance from the dock, but distance from any tile considered land. Happy Fishing, guys!

So you can put stuff in the community centre fish tank, and you can now put Lewis' pants in fish tanks?... Well, I know what I'm doing next time I play

Truffle crabs are now a thing. You try to pick up a truffle and it runs around like a rock crab. Scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it.

it too me until year 3 to get enough trains as trains are more rare now. for leprechaun shoes. ironically 2 fell from the same train, i also got 5 trash catalogues or more. yet no trash can lid hat. its wild.. im in winter 3 rn, rng is really funky.

Life Elixirs are now twice as expensive to buy from the Dwarf (another reason for the mushroom cave) but if you sell them, the sell price we get is halved too. But the price to recover something if you lose it in the mines is based on the price for selling, not buying, so it just got cheaper to recover a bunch of Elixirs you lost at least.

I found the pot of gold one purely accidentally and I've forgotten to get a new one each year since 😅
Stopped playing about 6 months ago after going hard the previous 3 months grinding friendships and expanding the farm. Now I feel like this update is going to require me to do a fresh start from the beginning but don't know if I should.
I'd recommend doing a restart for the year one green rain alone. Maybe go back to your original game after seeing that but you miss a ton of unique dialogue if you're already past year 1.
I played the update for a bit until summer on a new save, but quickly went back to my main save and still got to enjoy discovering the new update
Not sure if it was with 1.6 but I just noticed the mini jukebox has a randomized feature
I have gotten the yellow slime twice but out of the three times ive accepted the prismatic jelly quest i still have yet to find one DX
my strat for finding them is to find an infested level in the mines and keep reloading the same level over and over again until you find one!
