    Points of clarification:
    13:05: If you wanted to adjust your sear spring, you could stop here and test your trigger pull weight. Put your slide back on so the hammer doesnt fall forward and hit the frame. With the hammer down, then remove the mainspring housing pin and MSH, then remove the sear spring, make your adjustments, and reassemble to test the trigger action again.
    13:50: If you were fitting a safety, you wouldnt put the safety plunger and spring in. You would try to put your safety in, it would likely hit on the sear, then you could pull it out and file off material in the correct area, then try again. repeat until the correct relationship between the safety and sear is acheived then take the safety out and install the plunger and spring, then do the final assembly.

    Great instructional video! With the influx of folks buying 1911/2011s, this is quite good to have.

    This might be the best 2011 assembly/ disassembly video I've seen yet. Nice job!

    Geez… I want to swap the main spring on my Tisas 1911 but dont feel ready to do that myself… lol. Saving this video!

      Don’t be scared. That’s the first pin he took out on the bottom of the grip. Then it’s all about having 3 hands and NOT pointing it at your fuckin face, like he said lol you got this 👍🏻 I have faith in you

      its really not too bad. Wear safety glasses and point it away from your fucking face 😆. Keep in mind some mainspring housings will require fitting to the grip. I got a dawson precision steel mainspring housing for my Tisas and it took a lot of fitting before it would even slide into the grip module. I have not run into a plastic mainspsring housing that needed that type of fitting yet.

      @@EngineersArmory Sorry. I meant the main spring housing spring. Nite the actual housing. Lol. I actually have the 18# main spring. Factory is 23#. But dont feel comfortable doing it… yet.

      @@DesertTactical oh my bad. Didnt read your comment carefully enough. Main spring. Gotcha. Fair enough it's kinda a pain, not too terrible tho. Maybe clamp the mainspring housing in a vice with soft jaws.

      @@EngineersArmory Yeah… heard thats the best way. My vice doesnt have soft jaws so need to find something to use as so.

    I really appreciate you sharing this. This is super concise and useful.
    Is there anything that could be reassembled incorrectly that would potentially pass a function check but still leave the gun unsafe?
    I’m just imagining I put the firing pin in wrong or something and have the gun pointed at my nuts after lol

    • @EngineersArmory
      @EngineersArmory  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      hahaha not that I can think of. If you assembly it correctly it should pass all function and safety checks. Unless maybe you've modified the sear/hammer relationship, or took too much material off your thumb safety lug or grip safety tang. Shit... I should probably make a safety and function check video after this hahahah.

    Hey bro! Got a question. I have been messing with this girsan 2311 for hours. It lets me pull the trigger without the beaver tail pressed! I have tried to adjust the 3rd leaf on the spring with no luck. Also it doesnt matter if i lift up on the beaver tail. I was doing some research and cant narrow it down. Might you have any ideas??

    • @EngineersArmory
      @EngineersArmory  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Out of the box did the grip safety ever work? As in would it allow you to pull the trigger without being depressed right out of the box?

    • @dragusdaone
      @dragusdaone 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I never tried it right out of the box. I noticed it today after my range visit.

    • @dragusdaone
      @dragusdaone 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Probably was like that out of the box. My tisas doesn't do it at all and it's been to the range a few times too

    • @EngineersArmory
      @EngineersArmory  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@dragusdaone Sounds like an issue with the gun from the factory. a serious safety issue. Needs to go back to the manufacturer. Or you could replace and fit a new grip safety.
