‘Civilised and refined’ also racist, classist, homophobic, sexist, ect. Back then isn’t better than now, they just had different approach to fashion.
the woman walking by with a parasol in 1:53 is stunning , of course the other women are beautiful aswell.
2022 people cloths less and tattoo all over their bodies , hair in read , blue , green , rings on theirs nose, ears , it look crazy like hell . it really sad the world change in hell on earth.

With few exceptions most of these dresses look so unflattering.
I guess different taste for different times but at least it's still better than the garbage the working class people wear today

Yes they look astonishingly elegant - but oh, the FAFF! I'm old enough to remember my grandmother telling me about the rigmarole of getting dressed up in those days, and apart from the hats, which were enough to give you a classic headache, the amount of clothing they had on underneath those exquisite coats and dresses was enough to keep you warm in the Arctic - never mind on an English summer day!
Yeah actually no. In the 1910s they would wear a corset, a corset cover, and deppending on the dress a petticoat.

Mon grand père mettait souvent un chapeau quand il sortait c'était un homme de condition modeste il était digne avec son galurin je ne vois RIEN DE PATHÉTIQUE MAIS EN 2023 tout cette France en déliquescence est par contre pathétique.
Ce que je remarque, c'est que jusqu'au début du XXème siècle, presque toutes les femmes portaient des chapeaux et utilisaient des ombrelles pour se protéger du soleil. Et curieusement, à notre époque (et depuis longtemps déjà), presque plus personne ne prend de précautions contre les effets du soleil. De nos jours, les gens se promènent en plein soleil à n'importe quel moment de la journée... Peut-être un lien avec les études qui révèlent une baisse du QI chez les occidentaux ?
