    Fun fact, the Queen (-Mother) at the time who as it says, was in mourning for her mother, came out the other side in white for a reason. She hated the idea of wearing black for the entire trip, but could not stop court mourning early. Instead, she took the Continental tradition of white as the colour of mourning, and they went absolutely mad for it. From George VI onwards, we're just watching a very, very carefully thought out stage show.
