Just HOOOOW. Im 4 sec slower on my G29, i cant come to terms with codemasters F1 game. I love everything but the ridiculous driving needed for good times. I consider myself to be very fast in Assetto, IRacing, etc, but in F1 i just dont seem to get the placement of the car right at all. Maybe it's just too fast for my old brain, but I love to blame the bad FFB hehe
i am 2s slower than this on a controller, I just cut 1.5s after discovering shortshifting, might want to use this to save time, actually was the thing that made it easier to play no-tractin control, i previously played automatic gears and it works bonkers
Your great at this game. I got it yesterday and took your setup. And what I have learned is, you can have the best car in the world, best setup in the world and still be a terrible driver... im going through these f1 cars like skittles. I hit more walls than lap times.
You make it look so easy and effortless. If anyone has any pointers on how to improve driving in F1 2018 or 2019 please drop some pointers at the FatBoyCars forum.
TRL Limitless. I have found your setups to be amazing and helped kick start my career. There are 6 tracks missing though dude. Do you intent on doing those or could you reply with the missing tracks?
So, are these setups specifically for hotlaps? What should we consider adapting when setting up for an actual quali + race? Since I guess these "hotlap setups" wouldn't be good for tyre management
@Amyg-dala On F1 2017 you could run an aggressive setup with no worries of tyre temps. This year, this isn't possible. Trying to match AI 110 difficulty is almost impossible as quick setups that would have allowed you to compete on this difficulty last year now just kill your rear tyres so they can't be used. Less aggressive setups allow you to actually race but will give you no pace whatever. F1 2018 has become so compatible for wheel users as it was to simulate F1 as much as it can but its meant that pad users can no longer be as quick as they once were :(
Hi James, have you made any changes to the default Wheel settings (deadzones etc) for your Thrustmaster servo? I'm running the same as yours and really struggling to get a good feel for the wheel.
0:36 did you ever notice that the lakeside stadium was there, right next to the track? I just checked on google maps and i can't believe i never noticed that.
Pikapika Chu turn off auto brake, and if ur a beginner then turn on driving line, watch this video carefully, at turn 1 you don’t need to overbrake and yeah pretty much just practice makes perfect, Ive been playing for 1 week now and my new record on this track is 1:23
Hi VL,great channel and a real help to anyone who races on F1.Great lap and your WR @ Monza in the ferrarri last year was brilliant.Just a question: for controller on xbox is it the weight bias in the setup that would most likely affect the lap time, when using a controller ?
Understeering and going too fast into turns will cause that. Get your break points right and a proper setup on the car. If that doesn’t help go into the settings and play with the controller response times.
88Nikolajsen thanks for the answer but I do get it right, I’m a veteran driver. It’s just the pure sound of it they have changed or like I said maybe it’s a bug in my PSN downloaded game. Even in time trial before the red lifts go out when the AI steers the car and down shift its sounds so far from real life an even last years game
Just drive. I switched to wheel a month ago and I needed maybe 30 hours of driving to get into it, but then I could go same or better pace then with pad. And tyre wear was reduced a lot.
@@TitanOfRacingF1 some guys from my league can drive with this Setup (pad) but all others lost the car at the corner exit. Try to reduce the balance from 8 to 7 or 6. Hi guy, I'm not english ans I don't arrive to understand all things during your setups videos. I'm trying to improve my driving but I'm not progressing anymore and it starts to be frustrating. So, how can you reduce your breaking distance ? Are you always throttle a little bit during the breaking time ? Can you give me some advices by writing ? Mercedes' 7th gear is longer than in F1 2017 and longer than ferrari/other cars Mercedes has a finaldrive ratio of 4.9 while it was 5.05 before and on other cars.
Ahh ok... I am trying to use a realistic setup and I'm in the low 1:37s.. I will go unrealistic and see what happens... I am going to be pissed if it works...seems like an exploit
From my experience, in races, the key to save your tires is to have the front brake bias and the on throttle differential at the low rates possible. Try the career traning programs regarding tyre wear and check the performance. Also, do not steer agressively.
Two questions: 1. Can I use this setup online (5 laps, 25% and 50% races) and career? 2. Can I also use all your setups if I'm on a controller (ps4) and using assists, such as braking assist (off), anti-lock brakes (on), traction control (full) and gearbox (automatic)? Thx in advance! Appreciate your videos m8 :)
The fastest hamilton lap wasnt in time trial. Where theres no fuel and ers is max. Try qualifying on f1 110ultimate and see the lap times. I say its veey close to reality
I dont see how a track in perfect condition and similar setup/fuel load (10kg in TT) would produce a lap more than 2 seconds slower in career than in TT
Tyres dont wear in TT, Tyres are always at perfect temperature all the time in TT, ERS battery is 100% all the time and max power, racetrack has the most possible grip applied and so on. If everything is in absolutely perfect conditions it can do wonder. You never have this in career/reality. It begins already with tyre wear. The tyre spline curve in gamefiles perfectly show that the most grip is lost on the way up to 6 or even worse 13% weared tyres. After that the grip loss is in much smaller steps. And then after 63% the grip loss gets crazy. But on TT you have the whole lap 0% wear on all tyres.
This setup is realy bad. The car oversteers almost in every corner. All of my setups are yours and i find them really comfortable but this one is a disaster. Your last years setup for this grand prix was excelet. So, please fix it or tell my what i am doing wrong
