You forgot to add: Torpeedo everyone at the start of the race into turn 1. Preferably at Monza. Take out the fastest drivers to give you a better chance. Brake check anyone who is in your slip stream to give them front wing damage.
Using a wheel is going to take a lot of practise, really, A LOT. Maybe you get really good at it after 1 year, no joke. But once you get into it you can't go back to the controller on racing games. Wheel will always be faster than a gamepad just because you can turn faster, but most importantly is REALLY FUN to play racing games on a wheel compared to gamepads
Honestly I played in a g29 a few days ago and I did much faster times than I did with my ps4 controller, mainly because you can feel when the car starts to lose traction with the vibrations and all, plus its more natural for me since I drive daily
Pad is quicker on traction like in the wet, and then wheel is quicker on tracks with fast direction changes. I personally use a pad and the difference from last game to this game is huge.
It used to be quicker in the wet but now you can’t catch the car whereas the wheel can just tokyo drift it around the track so the wheel is pretty much better in almost all aspects now
regarding with ers, hotlap & overtake have same power boost from 1st to 6th gear. Overtake has higher power boost when using 7th & 8th gear. You're welcome :)
I used time trial world record setup in my career race at Bakuand managed to do a One Stop strategy in a 100% race distance with the fastest lap setup from time trial so that tells me is there really a saving strategy compared to an outright fastest strategy because they both seem to work over 100% distance

Lowering tyre pressure will generate more heat as more of the tyre will make contact with the surface of the road. Increase tyre pressure will cool them down. Or at least that is how it works in real life.
Not gonna bother arguing when the game itself says otherwise in the setup tips, for the game lowering tyre pressure will help lower the temperatures. These are tips for how to be quick in the game and not real life
just getting use to this on the first Aussie track. do you guys use auto or manual? also I choose Williams because of the learning curve although my favorite team is Ferrari and I'm a big Lewis Hamilton fan. is there an ERS or overtaking button?
I used auto on the first few races but it was just too simple. I recommend going to manual with suggested gear and just going out on practice and getting the feel for shifting in and out of corners, after a while you'll know what gear you need for the speed you're going. If using a controller, I suggest going with R1 and L1 for gear up and down respectively. It mimics paddles better than using buttons and if you use a claw grip on the controller with your middle fingers on the triggers, it helps a lot with fine adjustments on the throttle/brake.
I race in like unranked, I get like 3rd in like a 20 car race. I’m like 10 secs behind them after 5 laps. Does setup help that much because I usually only run like 5-6 or 4-4
A bit. From what I've experienced with a setup you could go over a second faster then a preset setup. Also, setup are usually made for your driving style so you can push every lap knowing exactly how the car will behave. At least that's what I think.
How do you rank up? Like i just bought this game. I was silver 2 with 1635 points. Now i lost like 150 points and the rank keeps going down... even when i finish 4th of the 8 driver without a penalty. Nothing seems to help exept getting podium... pls help
6:45 (about changing conditions) What if I told you that I raced in USA in my own league, coming from an accident that caused a SC and being at the back of the field while Jeff is telling me that he is unsure since the race start if either drys or inters are best ones, to put on the Softs (hardest compound) and race 24 out of 28 laps while it is still raining behind the SC? Plus winning for the first time in 90 races and currently having 5 seasons.
Why wouldn’t you go softest compound with 4 laps remaining unless you had no more sets of tyres. Also in some of my recent races by listening to Jeff with the forecast would of cost me alot of time, unfortunately for others they believed his strategy and ended up falling well behind.
@@iContrast No you misundersstood me. From Lap 1 to 6: rain, so Inters. Lap 4: SC I had to stop cos of a damaged front wing. Lap 4 to 28: Softs which where the hardest compound.
Yea well i said in the video if you need to go longer the hardest would probably still be best. What i was trying to get at though is during the phase where it dries up or gets damp, the “inbetween” point, its best to be on the softest tyre as the harder tyres will lose their temperature way easier and become undriveable
lower tyre pressure, doesnt lower tyre temps. Higher pressure lowers temps, however if the pressure is too high you start to slide around, which of course causes tyre overheating.
The game says itself that “Increased tyre pressure also contributes to higher tyre temperatures”. I’ve never experienced increasing tyre pressure lowering temperatures within the game. I brought up high tyre temperatures as an issue and lowering the pressure is definitely one solution as having high tyre pressures does as said contribute to higher temperatures.
Codemasters dont know how stop n go penalties work, so them being wrong on tyre pressure is not unlikely. I've personally had less temperature issues with higher tyre pressure and in sim games like Assetto Corsa it works the same way.
well, lower pressure increases grip, therefore is faster, but from my personal experience, temperatures are generally lower, if i increase tyre pressure
Lower pressures increase grip reduce wheel spin and therefore reduces tyre temperature, also high pressures take more of the load generated through cornering increasing temperatures
Sebastian Lacau Shortshift coming out of the corner and adjust ERS Deployment to Overtake. Fuel mix could also be changed, just depends on how much fuel you have.
try lowering the front wing, increase tyre pressure a bit, lower ride height and use equal ride height like 4/4. doing all of this will hinder your cornering ability so use it on tracks with long straights.
This is not the way to go for things like league races, but people who usually don’t want to spend time finding the best setup take one from time trial and increase rear wing or decrease ballast by 1
I started my 100% race in Hungary with -10 Laps of fuel, I finished with + 0,44 :D just go on lean in sectors where you are not going full throttle so much ( last sector spain ; S-Corners in Japan, Middle Sector in Hungary; last Sector in Germany ).
