    I agree. Being born at Arctic circle and looking into astrology, I’ve also noticed vertex usefulness when contrasting/comparing it to asc.

    You say “nerdy” like it’s a bad thing. 🤔 ☺️ Significant for Canadian birth charts, hovering near the 50% mark for the most part, soaring toward the vertex in the North. Thank you. Many interpretations of the Vertex are quite milquetoast. This is so much more robust and useful for chart interpretation. I look forward to watching the video links. 💫

    I am new to Astrology and new to vibrational astrology, but still very intrigued.
    Would you say that being born around 24° latitude, vertex is inconsequential for me? Does it matter if one moves? I am currently in USA in Georgia, so does vertex become more important? How? Thanks so much.

    Thank you David Cochrane for all the research you share with us! But, does this mean that someone born at 45N (or S) should place the 1st house cusp at the middle point in between the Asc and the antivertex points? And me at 63N would place it at 20% of the distance between Asc and antivertex but closest to antivertex? Otherwise I guess we are only shifting the "impossible point" to be at 45N (neither of them works good and can be very different, so which is it?) instead of at 90N.

    • @CosmicCybernetics
      @CosmicCybernetics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not move the 1st house cusp between the Ascendant and AntiVertex. Maybe it seems odd that there is more than one house system, but I think that there are three (and possibly more) house systems that all work simultaneously. There are several reasons for thinking this. One is that transits for the Ascendant or Descendant and also transits over the Vertex and AntiVertex often have a big impact and most astrologers agree that transits over the Acendant and Descendant are powerful. At 63N the Vertex Houses has 80% strength, and the AntiVertex and Vertex points are 80% strong, while the Ascendant is 20% strong so the Vertex houses are more important.
      I hope I explained this clearly.

    I was born in the UK and live there. According to your video it appears that the Vertex is stronger than Ascendant. Does this mean that I take energies from both in my personality ? Apparently I have Taurus Rising & Aries Anti-Vertex. And, how in your theory would this affect houses in a Chart . By the way, you being realistic and using mathematics is I feel what is needed in all sciences including the so called pseudoscience even if that may affect cognitive bias .

    • @CosmicCybernetics
      @CosmicCybernetics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, both the Aries AntiVertex and the Taurus Ascendant affect your personality. There are, however, some additional things to consider that I will explain in future videos where I will intepret the charts of famous people who are born near the Arctic Circle.
      Thanks for the positive comment. I think it is very important that we face problems in astrological theory and try to solve them rather than ignore them.

    • @Chrome166
      @Chrome166 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snowasinangel Well, it could just be that Earth would have effects on Martians, no idea what those would be, and Martians would constantly be under the effect of a low-key Mars transit? And what would the signs work like, with Martian days and years being so different. Would we just divide up the sky based on constellations to mimic our zodiac? Or perhaps we should look at how the procession of the equinox works on Mars and designate a new Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn at Martian latitudes, and measure all the signs based on the declination in roughly the same proportion to how we map the Tropical zodiac to the 4 main points on the equinoxes and solstices. I'm also curious if the zodiac would even carry the same energy there, I've heard that the signs/houses could be seen as emanating from the energy of Earth, so would we get the same 12 signs but in a flavor of Martian energy?

    • @CosmicCybernetics
      @CosmicCybernetics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have similar thoughts and questions. In the system of astrology that I use, Vibrational Astrology, zodiac signs and houses are less than 5% and probably less than 2% of what I interpret. The emphasis in Vibrational Astrology is on planetary configurations and there would still be planetary configurations on Mars. This puts less concern about what happens to the zodiac and houses on Mars. However, there are still big questions I don't know the answer to, such as I don't know if the functions of the planets from the point of view of Mars would be the same as from the Earth.

    You wouldn't consider the antivertex in place of the ascendant? And why not just take the equatorial ascendant for all latitudes?

    • @KevinLopez-rl6wq
      @KevinLopez-rl6wq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      kinesisfilms he does use antivertex instead of ASC and Vertex instead of DSC. That is his true view. He just wasn’t stating it carefully here. See his earlier video on the ASC and the arctic circle.

    • @KevinLopez-rl6wq
      @KevinLopez-rl6wq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      “Why not just take the equatorial ASC for all latitudes?”
      Because then the chart would not accurately describe the local space of the coordinates where the chart is supposed to be cast. Do you think that a chart cast in the same longitude on the equator in Ecuador and at the arctic circle in Canada are equivalent? It would essentially be casting a chart for an entirely different location and then pretending it can act as a proxy for a high latitude chart.

    • @kinesisfilms9147
      @kinesisfilms9147 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I figured he was referring to the vertex axis....but then other replies below were taking the literal vertex point which would be the descendant. Clarity.

    • @kinesisfilms9147
      @kinesisfilms9147 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@KevinLopez-rl6wq only if your astrology is literal. Why then use whole sign houses at higher latitudes as most people now do? Where even modern house systems break down. Maybe the traditional systems of astrology (hellenistic, Vedic, etc) were designed for northern hemisphere mid to equatorially latitudes. But when the scientific approach tries to rectify the discrepancies in the higher latitudes the system deviates from the Traditional Astrological approach. If we use whole sign houses at higher latitudes why not also rectify the ascendant to equatorial latitudes....even if it's not technically accurate. Then Einstein would be a mercury ruled gemini over a scorpio or Sagittarius ruled. Just a consideration.

    • @CosmicCybernetics
      @CosmicCybernetics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      At around 63N (or 63S) the power of the Ascendant is very weak; it still has a small effect so I do not ignore it completely but it is so weak that it is not very important. When the strength of the Ascendant goes below about 20% it is not very important.
      I have not done extensive work with the Equatorial Ascendant but over decades of looking at people's charts and especially back in the 70's when I was full time interviewing and counseling people and testing ideas I did not find transits over the Eq Asc to have much impact. Outer planet transits over the AntiVertex/Vertex axis, on the other hand, often correlated with major events that made sense in terms of the planet involved. This is not a rigorous scientific validation but was consistent for me.
      Another reason that the Eq Asc is not attractive to me is that it would require a big cahnge to the theoretical framework for astrology that I use. I look at astrology as a form of studying Space (akash) and the sacred geometry in Space and vibrations within Space. Fundamental processes like Spin generate the zodiac and houses and a process of dimension reduction is involved. Using this theoretical framework we expect the Vertex to be important but probably not the Eq. Asc. These theoretical considerations, however, are trivial compared to observations. A video on my theoretical framework is here: th-cam.com/video/2tFr8hNIjWI/w-d-xo.html

    My friend, your demonstration charts supporting this assertion are absent.
    I agree the vertex is very important in both 360° Traditional/Modern and the Uranian 90°. but your assertion and table must be supported by demonstrated evidence to be accepted by the astrological community.
    Much of the problem with the ascendant and Midheaven position in high latitude nativities can be somewhat avoided by the 90° dial methods when used in rectification.
