Great video. The research you did for this glove worked out well and your analysis is informative. Looking forward to more updates/comparisons for the rest of your collection.
i recommend trying kubota sluggers!!! it’s well known in japan for having a GREAT feel after broken in. it is not formed that well put of the box, but the break in by players allows to it to form to the players liking!
Can you recommend any way to get affordable authentic Japanese gloves? It seems like the average "hard type" gloves on eBay range in the $500-$700 range, even if used. Even the "rubber ball" and "soft type" gloves are pricy in the $200-$300 range, and they play pretty small, I'm guessing because they were built for middle school aged players.
@@waterwater111 I used to live in Japan so I can answer this for you. The brutal truth is, $500 is the average price for baseball gloves in Japan because of their quality of leather and strictly supervised craftsmanship. The soft-type gloves are a little more cheaper, but I only recommend it for Japanese rubber balls. That being said, if you’re looking to buy a new Japan made glove, you’ll need to prepare to make an investment. Custom Mizuno gloves in the factory in Japanese starts at around $700-800, and can even go over $1000 depending on how the customization is done. However, there is one maker called Yabai gloves, which makes handmade gloves in Japan for an affordable price. The down side is that the leather quality is nice, but not as good as the $500 range gloves
I’ve got 2 OF JP11’s both are H webs and both are 12.75. I dunno if it’s just my hand but both of them closed thumb to pinky right out of the box, no forming no hot watering, and they both feel like I could game them right away. The JP11 pocket is super deep for outfield and I feel it might be there best OF model
Yeah sort of. Not the most comfortable glove but definitely fun to use and a middle infielder/for quick hand drills. Definitely forces you to use two hands!
It’s orange tan, and I got it rich by using small amounts neatsfoot oil (a type of leather oil) and glove conditioner to lock in the color. I oil/condition it every 6 months. Using a glove also gives it a great color. When you use it outside and get dirt and dust on it, it almost seals up the pores in the leather and makes it shiny
The Japan select usually comes softer already because it has less padding. Also, what color is the leather? The color can affect the texture of the leather
It's a custom web, I basically drew a picture of it and sent it to them with my order number. You can special request pretty much any web, you just need to have a picture of it ready

Great video, the Japan select still looks amazing! On camera and in person
Love the vids keep em up should I get a custom rawlings or a regular a2000?
Custom Heart of the Hide! The $400 is worth it! Heart of the hide leather is super thick and that glove will last you years.
Great vid 🤟🏽
Nice beats as well ! Just a real nice video bro

Do you think I could use one for slow pitch softball ?

You talked about getting a Kubota slugger. I want to order one but I’m not sure where I can get one if I’m not actually I’m japan
huge fan of everything you done with the glove, but i hate looking at that heel with holes in it but no laces
The laceless heel is definitely an acquired taste!
Would u recommend this or the jp11 because personally I can’t decide and would love some recommendations. I’m a 13 year old second baseman
I recommend the Japan select, it’s muuuch lighter and since you’re still pretty young it’ll be way easier to break in 👍🏻

@@914ballgloves8 will the Japan select be a lot easier to break in even if I get the standard stiffness on the jp11?
That glove is just aging like some fine wine!
Hello, so I am 16 and I play outfield, I was wondering if I should get a 12”, 12.25” or 12.5” glove. Which one is better for outfield?
12.25 is more for people who play third base and occasionally play outfield. At your age 12.5 is much better for outfield. I would even use a 12.75!
@@914ballgloves8 thank you very much

I just got my Japanese select and I’m not gonna lie. I kind of feel fake is really soft material and doesn’t feel like leather.

Orange tan

Wait what I have a standard stiff Japan select?
Maybe they changed it. When I got mine there was no option for stiffness, it just wasn’t a particularly stiff glove
