Why can this lead to death due to renal failure - this SRC? What are the factors that cause irreversible renal vasculature damage related to SRC?

From Philip Clements, M.D.: "We don't know what happens on the cellular level at this time. What we think we know is that a very strong vasoconstrictive chemical is activated during SRC. This chemical is called "angiotensin-II." It effectively shuts down the circulation to the kidneys, causing kidney failure and high blood pressure. This chemical also affects nearly all the blood vessels throughout the body--particularly the heart's circulation causing heart failure. It can cause headaches, seizures and even strokes. The shutdown of blood flow to the organs is the real consequence of SRC. Fortunately many of these effects can be treated or prevented with the use of ACE-inhibitors."
