Came across this road when I was about looking for new routes to try. What a find....I started turning off the A470 and headed towards Bala and it comes out on the A4212.
Hi Nige I have ridden the road a few times as Gerry's family lives near, great to watch you ride it so smoothly. Be good to get together with a few of the group to ride it. very best Del
Hi John, I know the road very well was shown it about 5 months ago by a friend of mine. Since then have been down it many times, got to be careful if your going the other way. Just before you hit the 30mph zone, tight right bend which usually has stones and gravel just on the inside near the kerb. If we get chance to meet up will show some others which you could use.
Yeah, great road and I like it even more going the other way, as it heads closer to places like Beddgelert, Llyn Gwynant and Snowdon and with beautiful views overlooking the sea
You enjoyed that Nigel I can tell! Joking aside you made it look so smooth a ride the less experienced rider, that’s me, should as you said “not get carried away” thanks for posting.
It gets even better beyond Bala, then picks up the B4396 back to the A5 near Nesscliff. I was the passenger in an Audi A6 last week after a day's climbing in Tremadog and the Satnav took us home that way, first time I've seen the road. I can't wait for the first proper days of summer so I can take the bike there!
That road really reminds me of the roads we have here in New Zealand, I have ridden a few of them, and can say that the can also be challenging at times.
I was looking for info about that a while ago myself. You need a low BMI for a start. The Police don't hire fatties. You need at least 5 Standard Grades (or your english equivalent). They give you all the training you need after that.
Just waiting for this grim weather to shift now, I was hoping to get over there on my easter days off but looking at the forecast maybe I'll stick a bit more local and see what staffs and derbyshire have to offer.
Hi Advancedbiker! I want to pursue a career as a Police Officer but not sure what qualifications I'll need for it or what experince will help me with the application, can you help? I'm 19 :).

This is probably the best road I have ever ridden on. Absolutely breathtaking.
As you said , its a lovely road ,and also a real pleasure to see your fine and smooth riding.
Thank you .
Great road and ride. A pleasure to watch
This road continues. From Bala to the A483 at Llynclys. The climb out of/descent into Llangynog (dependant on direction) is something else.

Sorry Nigel, I meant Nigel and not John. (John was the person who showed me the road)

If anyone fancies a North Wales ride... give me a shout. Based local - a good run is over the Denbigh moors up the Ffrancon valley from Bethesda.
