The Duet Display one-time purchase plan seems to have disappeared from Duet website. The starter plan is now Air. I've dropped an email to Duet and asked for clarifications and if I hear from them I will post the news here. Thanks Craig for having spotted this!

That, along with a subscription model are red flags that a lot of system information is always being sent back to their home office. No thanks.
Its kind of weird for the fact of its free but you have to pay to have a connation to your computer to use it, like i inspected to use it for free with no cost of money and have a premium of other stuff as a upgrade.

I downloaded Duet yesterday and I only payed the 20 dollars one-time fee for downloading the app from Apple store. If you connect the iPad to the PC by cable it works normally. However, to use it remotely (without cables), then the Duet Air subscription is needed.
Interesting. So if I get one of these new windows based eg Aya Neo Air Lite, and connect it by USBC to a 2nd gen ipad pro using Duet Display, I would be able to use the Ipad as a 'big' display for the handheld? It'd be internet browsing and some Microsoft docs editing.
Not sure about Aya Neo Air Lite, but in general if you have a Windows PC or Mac, you can use your iPad as a second monitor. As I've just found out, it seems that Duet has removed the one time purchase options and that the starter plan is now Air
Is there any iPad programs that would allow me to utilize it as a second screen either wireless or Bluetooth wireless for windows laptop without downloading program on laptop. I need it for my work computer which i cannot download new programs onto due to admin lockout
I don't think that there is any reason why one can't use the iPad while charging it. I've been doing it with iPad and iPhone with no issue. Where does your fear come from?
