    For those yyk controllers you were initially installing, you have to swap the blue and green phase wires and hall wires. Swap blues position for green on both thr hall connector and when you connect it to the motor. That will probably fix your technical difficulties. I have two and blew a motor and some halls before finding info on endless sphere about this

      @@Blox117 welcome to hub motors, hub motors are not for performance, there for Convenience.
      4000 watt it s the peak of them, 200amp BMS is over kill(I had it laying around).
      If you wanted this fast and have tq, you would get a mid drive motor and gear it correctly

    • @RexSmithII
      @RexSmithII  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These hub motors are very wide they’re mostly for flat tire scooters they’re not like the motorcycle hubs motors from QS motors, those have a good RPM but still lack total torque.Search “ripperton electric superbike “
      This guy races electric super bikes in Australia and they do a lot of test experiments , he built a 200 kW super-bike. If you look at their test the mid drive motors always outperform the hub motors also hub motors put weight where you don’t want it , on the ends ,you want your weight right in the middle.

    If you need a fender for it you should look into Honda 200x -250r - and 350x fenders. A front fender from one could prob be made to work front and back on that! Great job. Might wanna look into some stronger triple trees. That’s a lot of weight to have on a set that have been cut and welded

    On your intake manifold how do you prevent dirt and dust from entering and mucking up the internals and batteries? And the air intakes exit port is over the controlers under the deck how do you prevent moisture from getting on the controlers? I know its electric and shouldnt be ridden in the rain and such but going offroad there is always the chance of running into an area that has high ground moisture unlees you only tide in the desert.

    So I've made my own...let's say contraptions many times and I must say this and your other builds are top quality, very good job !!! I have one question, how could there be too much power? I mean couldn't you just control the power output with the twist throttle and just keep the extra power on tap just in case you find yourself in need of it?

    • @RexSmithII
      @RexSmithII  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes definitely, since it is electric you have tons of different options. One way is to put a 3 button switch and have 3 saved custome modes which would be relative to amps and throttle response.

  • @Todd_Gerhardt
    @Todd_Gerhardt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What charger do you use and how long of a run time do u get on that giant battery with those powerful motors? I made a 1500watt 48v drift cart and get about 20 minutes on 6.5 amp hour batteries at full throttle most of the trip doing around 28mph on flat ground

    • @RexSmithII
      @RexSmithII  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I buy a charger from a china guy I get my bms’s from. I then order they type of plugs I want and wire them in. There supposed to do 8amp but only literally out put 4amps.
      That 60ah battery would take a long time to charge from an empty state. I would normally let it charge overnight, I use really good BMS that connects to your phone via Bluetooth to monitor each cell if needed. All my batteries I have made can do fast charge no problem, you would need to purchase that and it’s not cheap. So a 30amp fast charger would charge that in 2 hours from empty, but your battery should never be empty. Ride it to half then charge. Is a good rule of thumb. The range on this is pretty good since it’s aluminum and the motor do not draw too much amps. I would say average ride time is over 2 hours

That scooter will wheelie out from under you if you hit the throttle even remotely too fast. and with the 33T rear sprocket i used my top speed (theoretically) is like 80mph. @@benlorne2161 I know tig is way more professional and cleaner but a tig is hard to get under areas were Mig could and is a breeze for run and gun for these applications is way better for me. I don’t have a welding table or something where I could just sit and tig.

    • @RexSmithII
      @RexSmithII  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I didn’t have a full gym in my garage, I would definitely turned it into a welding area. With proper table etc...I’m also only using 110v input so this is bare minimum. But you would be very surprised how good these cheap inverters actually perform for the price. I have also been told by people that bought the same equipment. there is a good review video on TH-cam comparing it to millers etc..
