Love the way that you always smile when people chant "Cheesy", you're a truly modest guy and one of our best.

a big group of us went down the night before - stayed in a B&B off hangar lane near Ealing common - on the day of the match we were allowed in the back door of a little irish pub up near Ealing Broadway (on the quiet like as it was only about 10:30 am) and we drank loads of Guinness before getting on a bus to Wembley - burtsing!. At 2-0 down, I was half way up the stand walking backwards up the steps one eye on the match but on my way out I was that deflated BUT when that first goal went in I went back to my seat (nobody was sitting down) and when Dickov scored it was pandemonium I was bundled over by the people round me, leaping about, and ended up falling over backwards onto the rather buxom lady behind us (nice soft landing) She never even noticed she was that ecstatic. The pubs round wembley were crazy after the match - impromptu footy matches with empty cans and bar stools as posts replaying the action, one guy stripped off to just his trainers (had a welsh dragon tattoo across his back) - just stood there arms outstretched shouting at the traffic. Some ladies on a hen night in a passing minibus flashed their boobies (at him?) I recall a load of really huge South African guys hard & grim looking like rugby players or mercenaries getting caught up in the celebrations in the pub.... they had no idea what had happened just joined in.... Absolutely incredible game - City have done this sort of thing to us quite a few times over the years since the 70's ! (Jamie pollock heading the ball passed Margetson - oh dear) it's a lot easier on the nerves now most of the time BUT 'those days' what with the ups and downs are just as special to us old fogies, I guess.

I'd moved from Longsight to Macclesfield and didn't know any fans or pubs.Stuck in a tiny flat by myself nearly crying with frustration on 90 minutes.

Really nice to see Terry Cooke, he was fantastic that season and really seemed to get the fans onside quickly given his United link.

I went to my friend's house to watch it on TV. I went from utter despair to ultimate jubilation so much so that I was touching the ceiling with my head I was jumping so high when we won the game. Thanks for reviving that game and that wonderful game.

Brilliant stuff! Remember that day like it was yesterday. Without a doubt that was the turning point - the spiritual one at the very least

I remember having the day off school to queue around Maine Road for Wembley tickets. Still one of my all-time favourite games I've been to. Another great video, Cheesy.
