How to start a Piper Cherokee 140 single engine aircraft | Pilot Vlog #3

I go through the start up checklist of a Piper Cherokee 140, PA28 single engine aircraft. The startup checklist for this Piper Cherokee 140 is one that is a combination of aircraft checklist and personal checklist. I like to stick to the aircraft checklist as much as possible, while implementing slight customizations to enhance my Piper Cherokee startup procedures and practices.
I use Foreflight for my aircraft checklists. I could not find a Piper Cherokee 140 checklist on Foreflight so I created my own. For redundancy I always keep a paper checklist with me in case my iPad or Foreflight has a malfunction and stops working.
This Piper Cherokee 140 startup checklist has evolved over the past seven years, since I’ve been flying. I’ve added small items and nuances such as stepping on the brakes during start engage even though the parking brake is pulled.
This video was shot at my home field of Goose Creek Airport, 28A , south of Charlotte, North Carolina. It is here that I rent Piper Cherokee 140s and do most of my flying. The airport itself is a fun little general aviation airport - 2300ft x 40ft runway.
