Director Joe Dante had refused for years to do a sequel to Gremlins because making the first one was so stressful it almost gave him a nervous breakdown. The puppets were a nightmare and the last minute discision to make Gizmo "good" (he was originally evil and turned into a full gremlin) and that he had to be with Billy the whole movie created a ton of extra stress on production.
But, it was such a big hit that the studio mandated a sequel, and after years of failing to find another director, they just gave Dante carte blanche to do what ever he wanted... and what he wanted (his words) was "To make a movie about why we didnt need a Gremlins 2".
One positive the movie did give Joe was an opportunity to finally make a live action Looney Tunes movie. Dante is a massive LT and Bugs Bunny fan, even giving his animator Chuck Jones a cameo in several of his movies (and hiring him to do the animation for the intro / outro of this one). The humor in this is very much in the Looney Tunes style.. irreverent slapstick. Joe went on to make a real Looney Tunes movie (aka Looney Tunes: Back in Action) but it had so much studio meddling hes disowned it.

are actually from a Person. you may have not Seen him but you Heard him (the Sounds he did for the Gremlins) Is one other Michael Winslow, he is a Master piece of sounds (through his voice) and he was in this Movie voicing the Gremlins (But not in Gremlins 2 he was in the First one)

Yes, cartoons used to air before movies. This trend is still around for some movies. You won't get it this way on DVD or streaming. In the real old days movies used to have not only cartoons before them but also news and comedy bitts and whole short other movies.
See Who Framed Rodger Rabit for a prime example.

Kate's "Abe Lincoln story" you were confused about is a joke on her sad story in the first film about her dad dying in the chimney on Christmas Eve. It was an infamous bit in the first one... either people "got it" and thought it was funny or thought "why is this sad, messed up story in the movie?". So here the joke is that Kate has a sob story for every holiday.
Oh, and that movie theyre playing with the Octopus man... the inside joke is that Rick Baker, who made the gremlins for this, got his start making that silly costume about 20 years before this film. He went on to become one of the most celebrated and Oscar winning makeup FX artists in the film indistry.

Many pf those cartoons were from Warner Brothers and starred Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. The first Bugs cartoon was from 1940. They weren't geared only for kids but adults as well. Christopher Lee also famously played the Bond villain Francisco Scaramanga in _The Man With The Golden Gun_ (1974). Lee himself was also a step-cousin of Ian Fleming, the original author who wrote the James Bond books.
He also got involved with music. For _The Wicker Man_ (1973), for instance, he sung on its soundtrack as well as having appeared in the film.
He even went on to perform heavy metal music and even became the oldest person to ever have a top-20 hit (he was 91 at the time of that success).
Sadly he passed away aged 93 in 2015, but what an incredible amount of work that he left for us.

I'd highly recommend looking those stories up. I also love that they add another aspect of the supernatural to the Gremlins: reincarnation. According to director Joe Dante, Mohawk in this movie is actually Stripe, the main Gremlin from the first movie reincarnated. That's why he tortures Gizmo. Mohawk remembers Gizmo killing him when he was Stripe.

LET'S GOOOOOOOO! IZ here on time for once! SessLUL. Yes, there did used to be cartoons before movies. Even in my generation there was. (late 70's early 80's) His name was Gizmo, he is a "Mogwai". Christopher Lee, indeed! And a famous horror movie actor as well! Yes, a microwave can exactly do that. Hulk Hogan was a famous wrestler in the US in the 80's. All us kids looked up to him. His famous line was eat your vitamins and say your prayers. Of course he was eating his steroids and paying his sex workers, but yea. Lol, yes HBO has been around for quite a while. Great Job as usual Sess! Ready for the next time!

Time for me to be a Party pooper and say. His name is not Christopher Lee its Sir Christopher Lee : P And he shaped the Prequals for the better his role as Count Dooku In Star Wars was legendary, he was one of the coolest characters in the Star Wars universe. and his role as Saruman was also really good and what i understand he was one if not the only one that had met Tolkien when he still was alive. Sir Christopher Lee had and amazing life story, i recommend you to read about him and his life its such a cool and interesting thing to read

Correct, Sessis. Back in the early days of movies (before t.v.), one would, for the price of admission, get to see a few "short subjects", such as cartoons, news reels, or serial dramas/suspense/adventures designed to hook the audience into returning next week for the exciting conclusion.

If you want to also do another goofy and ridiculous horror comedy like Gremlins 2, I would suggest Leprechaun for when Saint Patrick's Day comes, if that's OKay? It's about a vengeful leprechaun who tries to kill people who stole his pot of gold. It stars Warwick Davis, who starred in Willow and was Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi. It also stars Jennifer Aniston in her film debut, oddly enough. It's dumb, but in a hilariously fun way.

26:10 that's a wrap. Anytime moisture touched film (sweat, humidity), the movie film would stick together. Since film can't properly feed thru where it's supposed to go, it wraps tightly. The light bulb is probably 1200 Watts (it's been a while) and would burn that film . Pain in the arse. Cheers

The special effects artist who designed the Mogwai and Gremlins in the first movie wasn't available for this film, so they hired the legendary special effects artist Rick Baker. In my opinion, his work in this film is superior to the first. Gizmo looks cuter and is more expressive, while other Mogwai all look different, and the Gremlins look more realistic.
Although they're never mentioned in the film, the other Mogwai have names. The grumpy looking one and buck-toothed one are named George and Lenny, and their names, personalities, and appearances are based on the two main characters from "Of Mice and Men". The googly-eyed one is named Daffy, after Daffy Duck. The scary looking one named Mohawk, and its implied that he's a reincarnation of Stripe from the first movie, which is why he enjoys torturing Gizmo so much.

Fries need mayonnaise. As far as the "spying on employees," you're allowed to have security cameras as long as they're not in places like the bathrooms. Most large jobsites in the US have a lot of cameras now due to the threat of workplace violence.
The dumb/angry gremlin pair are named Linny and George. They, like countless cartoon pairs of the same name, are references to John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men."
Fire axes are common in public buildings.
I watched a video within the past year on TH-cam where they did experiments putting metal objects in microwaves, and it just wore down the microwave's components. You already put metal in the microwave normally. The ready-to-drink soups from Campbell's and others have metal rims, and things like Hot Pockets have metal in the sleeves that crisp them. It just reflects the microwaves.
