Has anyone realize the similarities between the main characters and the minor characters. T.J=Bones, the Orange haired girl=Vee, Chowder(I think that's his name)=Skull
Elijah Alonzo I'd like to think Skull, Bonez, and Zee were originally the main characters. Maybe they were a metal band who revisit the source of their music: the house. Maybe they made a bet with each other to survive the longest inside the house, only to discover that the house is not only alive, but also hungry. Given the original design of the house, I bet this was supposed to be PG-13 and the higher-ups were like, "We can't make money with a PG-13 Animated horror film!".
CORALINE THEORY: If the beldam has control over the real world and can see through anything with button eyes, then can she see through the squid stuffed animal that she has. Coraline her real father are seen playing with it towards the end of the movie. it has a button eye and the doll that she had is nowhere to be seen, but the squid can be seen in her room the whole movie and in the other world.
Haley your theory is half answered he said that the buttons the bedlam sews she can see through but she didn’t sew them to the real toys but she has control of the real world and there is Vernon her son so what I think is she sewed the toys but with very little of “soul sand” and let Vernon to take the dolls to the real world so it could but also the doll of coralline knows the layout of the house like the bedroom, kitchen, living room, etc so it’s 50/50 that the dolls can see or it’s wrong and it’s the coralline doll so rn I can say that it could be 50/50
I am so glad that this is being re-examined. Monster House is one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I really love getting juicy backstories. Thank you, Theorizer.

If you need more theory ideas for this movie, I have a few ideas. 1) How do hypnotic powers of the house work? 2) Where were the prisoners of the house if they weren’t in the basement? 3) What part of the throat is the floor? 4) How do things sink in the yard of the house and end up in the basement? 5) Why didn’t anyone else see the house come to life?
There is a book between skull and bones childhood and the black cop were all on this but the cop left and only bones and skull were the only one seeing Constance as a ghost made of fire

Skull and Bones are literally the two kids that caused Constants death. Well at least they look extremely similar to the kids in the movie when the back story was explained.
This is honestly one of my all-time favorite videos by the Theorizer and I wish that more of the backstory was either referenced in the film or put into another film and released. Also: I wish there were more fan-written stories on the relationships - possible and actual - from this film in general! (I’ve searched a bit already but haven’t found much.)
We know that Nebbercracker always thougt that the house was dangerous for the kids. But how Nebbercracker maneged to have dinamite without Constance to know about it? Also how the heck grown people missed everything. I found a little odd that DJ's parents came just when everything was OK. Never noticed that Constance died? And does the police know that people died there and appeared in the basement? I'm very glad that Constance didn't digest the kids... maybe she had like bulimia or something related. Obese people tend try to find a way to lose weight to fit in... And with Constance being at the circus and with kids throwing thing I bet she felt aweful.

Everytime I watch Monster House (the arcade scene specifically) I always had a feeling that Skull somehow knew that Nevercracker's house was possessed. He does act like a total comic nerd and doesn't really know but I think that there's more to it than that for some reason.
This revelation with the babysitter and the former Skulls and Bones band was very interesting. Personally, I'm working on the lore for Trolls (Dreamworks film) and Bellwether among other theories. All I could think of was the parallel and how Bones clearly has a history with the house as shown with his drunken stupor taunting as well as the house luring him in, showing she remembers. Z has a bitter sourness told debunking the house and its rumors, which could mean she has had her own history with the house. Skull also shows some sort of knowledge toward the subject, could just be random "nerd" stuff he picked up on during his "travels" or it could be that he shares a history with the house as well. They all could have had a life-changing experience with Nebbercracker's house in their younger years, knowing they grew up together and that these hauntings have been going on for 45 years.
Im surprised you didn’t add the part where she drops a house plant and then pretends like DJ did it. She does this in front of him to demonstrate just how easily she can lie and fake something. Which, kinda comes out of nowhere in the story. It’s just supposed to show that adults listen to adults and not kids...but it’s also kinda over dramatic, however when you consider the idea that she uses manipulation to get the things she wants, it just sounds like a part of her character

Like how the little girl acts all nice and polight much like the baby sitter did at the start only to show that she's more rough and ragged when it comes down to it. Or how the desighns if the two boys being hubby and langthy same as the two in the love triangle. I wonder if there ever is a continuation that the kids will in a way mirror what happened to the teens instead of music this time being a band of paranormal hunters?
Dude, I watched this movie when I was 6 years old and it scared the living crap out of me and yet I would keep watching it over and over because its so entertaining and creative with it's story and characters! Although I kinda don't like the climax where the house is chasing after them and getting blown up in the end I do love everything that lead up to that and how it all became! Very good and underrated film that's perfect for Halloween!

In Russian version Bones is always referred as ‘Mosol’ and skull as Reginald. I was trying to find the deeper connections between characters too, but the translation made it impossible lol btw, love this video

Maybe can you look at when DJ and chouter tell zee that bones has been eaten alive and zee thinks it’s a girl from school I know it would be hard since it’s only one line that she says it’s a different girl but maybe you can look into the law of that

The guy found jumanji on a beach in the end of the first jumanji they threw the game into a river Rivers lead to oceans and it eventually lead to the beach 2. @The Theorizer my theory is that when bones got dragged into the house by the tongue carpet he somehow escaped the carpet tongue and hid somewhere inside of Constance Or my other theory is that he somehow survived getting thrown down Constance’s throat by her tongue and landing in her stomach/basement out of sight Here’s some ideas to back up my second theory: 1.When the group was in the basement his body wasn’t there when they were looking around 2. Bones didn’t show up in her puke when Constance puked when Jenny irritated her gag reflex meaning he was possibly held somewhere inside her stomach away from the stomach entrance 3. I know this is highly unlikely but bones could of dug his way out of Constance’s stomach/basement hiding away from the killer slinkies, pipe snakes and ankle breaking stairs
This theory may or may not make sense but what if Monster house is just DJ imagining this all in his head. Hear me out: He has merchandise of a kids room (stuffed animals, poasters and such) what if he is just imagining he is a hero. The refrences in his room such as the anatomy of a spider (SPIDERMAN) and the telescope maybe his is picturing himself saving his neighborhood. Another thing to note is nobody in the neighborhood hears the literally crawling houses tree arms banging on the ground with every movement and the screaming of the trio

This theory may or may not make sense but what if Monster house is just DJ imagining this all in his head. Hear me out: He has merchandise of a kids room (stuffed animals, poasters and such) what if he is just imagining he is a hero. The refrences in his room such as the anatomy of a spider (SPIDERMAN) and the telescope maybe his is picturing himself saving his neighborhood. Another thing to note is nobody in the neighborhood hears the literally crawling houses tree arms banging on the ground with every movement and the screaming of the trio
