Sarr has a 7'4" wingspan and is a natural defender & shot blocker. He's an exciting Rim Runner who will have impact. Sarr will insert himself into the action. From day 1. Exactly what the Hawks need. They're already the 5th highest scoring team in the nba. With 8 guys scoring double figures. Scoring is not the most important issue.
Other than Capela, no one can grab 10 or 11 rebounds every game. This is proven & the major problem right now. Quin wants high volume 3 point shooting every game. With NO REBOUNDERS. ??¿¿ 10 points & 6 rebs is all they get from Okongwu. No more excuses for him. He's in a new contract. Still hasn't earned a starting job yet. Bey, at 6'7 was more effective & productive than Okongwu. Just facts. Sarr has more potential & a higher ceiling in my estimation.
Defense,... blocking shots & rebounding is what's missing. Sarr is the solution. Zac Risacher, Ware, Holland or even Clingan are not moving the needle as rookies. They're not starting for the Hawks or other contenders. In terms of playing defense rebounding, or blocking shots against guys like Jokic, Giannis, Embid, Sabonis, Wemby, Porzingis, Bam, Jaren Jackson, Holgren, or AD, or Lopez. In comparison they won't even get playing time. Sarr has potential to at least work his way into the Hawks rotation. Just be realistic & honest. The others don't provide what the Hawks need at this point. For the Record, Capela is still the #1 Off. Rebounder & ninth best overall in the nba. Ranked #17 out of 30 starting Centers. Also #14 in DD2'S (Doubles) Btw, Bufkin & Garrison together, are not equivalent to Dejounte Murray. 2nd leading in scoring & Ast, 1st in steals. Many have amnesia of when Murray was making several big game winners and carried this team. He beat the Magic & even the Celtics twice among others. (Capela got the big rebound & assist to Murray for the game winner. And CC still dunks & finishes in the pick & roll.) Also DJ was the effective leader while Trae was out injured. DJ finished the season with all career highs. 40 plus several games despite continuing trade rumors. These are the type of guys this Hawks team need to build a winner. Not unproven, random unknowns that you can only hope will develop & work out which amount to fanatic speculations. We're not rebuilding. We're adding depth and more options. Like the Celtics.
People saying the Hawks guards are defensive liabilities. Is false. The truth is both improved. Before his injury. Trae was in the top 10 for Charges Drawn along with Capela. Still, Trae was #8 in steals. Ironically, Dejounte finished this season #8 in Steals & #4 in deflections. Which causes steals & turnovers also.
Atlanta is ranked 8th in perimeter defense, we are ranked 25th in points allowed in the paint, u are correct the back court isn't the problem

There is no true #1 pick but we're overthinking this. We don't need his offense - and yet it will be more than Clint or OO. He'll provide size to our team without trading anyone.

Sarr looks very comfortable taking elbow shots and face ups. As long as he can do that he really doesn't need a three, that would be the cherry on top
Saying if he doesn't play C is BS, the evolution of the NBA dictates versatile players 😂😂😂😂😂 the Hawks have a very versatile team, adding Sarr adds to that depth

Btw, would be very interesting if you could bring a NBL specialist or someone who has watched Sarr's whole season, to get a different and interesting picture of what he really looks, to answer all thsi little questions we are all asking ourselfs, as from what I have seen, all the other guests that came, are collage or Europe focused.

Clingan is not a stretch big.
Sarr defense helps defense is what we need 1.5 blocks a game. Sarr against Ignite blocks 6 shots. OO and Sarr can play on the floor together.

What are you guys seeing. Sarr is the player that fits. What are you thinking. Trae, Vit, BI, JJ, and Sarr. Everyone can bring the ball up the floor. We have to get Sarr to play with Trae. Sarr athleticism works with Trae.

Reading some of the comments. It's NOT about the scoring output but it's about the fit of the scheme that Atlanta wants to play.

For Atlanta's needs Sarr is the pick, zacc is purely a spot up shooter, can't pass, create his own shot and lacking defense, Sarr is a no brainer for Atlanta

We definitely don't make any gains by drafting Risacher especially if we lose Hunt. Based on what I've seen of him, I can't see him beings better than Hunt even with time. Like a step backwards

Since we do not have draft picks the next few seasons i would try to trade Trae to for the 4th and 8th pick (plus necessary fillers) and build now. With the 1, 4, and 8th pick. Sarr, best small forward, Edey with those picks. To make room we will need to do a few multiplayer type trades.
Phenomenal, generational college player. Most in the league don’t view him as a top 5-10 prospect in the class due to his movement limitations on defense and, because the hawks only have the one pick, I havent had occasion to talk about him much yet on the show

The hawks will screw it up. Just like any Atlanta sports team. Falcons, suck. United, suck. Braves, massively underperforming. Hawks, trades Trae for Luka who is in the finals. Whoever they select at 1, guaranteed to be a bust. The hawks won’t draft their way out of a paper bag. Disappointment guaranteed every year for Atlanta sports fan, in every single freaking sport.
Sarr doesnt fit for the Hawks now Clingan or ZR would be the better fit for them I hope one of those 2 are picked
