Your video proved incredibly helpful, essentially acting as a tutorial for me. It made me realize just how much I've been missing in the Coliban River area. Thank you for sharing such valuable insights!
Love the uncut format. Shows just how good the fishing is.
So informative Tom, relaxing to watch as the rain and snow fill my North of England rivers.
Pleasure to watch the Dry dropper on a euro stick in action in tight quarters like that Tom and a great video too.
Split wing mayfly tting tutorial please! 🤞
Yes I'm keen to see that as well
Loving the long format mate!
Thanks mate! Will I see you up at Eucumbene next week?
Awesome man, so cool to see the rivers fishing well!
Great Vid mate.... love this format... cheers
Great video with useful insights into your thought processes
Great video Tom!
Great as always ❤
Great session mate!
Lovely backhand casting
Great video as always Tom...beautiful water, runs, and birdsong...I agree, where appropriate, love fishing a dry-dropper (CDC or snowshoe dry fly and a small, slim-bodied, beaded nymph underneath) on a lightweight euro nymphing setup... a very enjoyable and versatile way to fish with some finesse presentation gained from thin tippets, protected by a soft tip rod...if I may ask, typically how heavily fished are your local rivers? and are most / all your brownies wild? ...thanks for sharing👍
Great video Tom and great instruction. Can you tell me what the diameter of your euro leader was?
Awesome stuff mate! How much tippet do you have between dry and dropper? Looks like a fair bit for the depth of the river?
It’s about 70cm and shorted up a bit with a couple of fly changes
I can’t believe how many little trout are in that one stretch.
Do you ever sometimes get sick of all little ones though? Surely at some point size matters?
If that stream was in NZ they would be 2lb minimums.
I’ve heard that fish over time will breed and grow to the most efficient size based on their environment. ie water quality , level and average temperature, predation levels and food availability factors.
I’ve also read recently that the alkalinity of the water affects the size of trout. Which is to say that NZ waters are far more alkaline than Australian waters. So on average Australian trout are smaller because of the different ph of the water. Apparently this is caused by acidity present in Eucalyptus trees. (which are not native to NZ).
How do you keep your line from falling into the eyelet guides? Im learning but have been struggling with this issue
If you keep your rod at a lower angle/ lower your rod tip it won’t sag or pull down as much. I hope that helps 😊
Are there any good spots Vic South East - East?
Yeah plenty in the east of the state. All of the main rivers coming off the mountains hold trout
@@tomjarmanfishing3208 cheers I just started fly fishing
