    • @WombatPage

      The CR50 is a flat top, one tone, one volume, no bells or whistles beginner guitar. The CR100 shares the same pickups as the CR50 but has upgrades like a carved top, pickguard and all the controls of a regular LP style guitar. If you want an LP style guitar without the LP price tag then the CR100 is a better version of that than the CR50.

    • @yihyunkim1997
      @yihyunkim1997 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I know I'm 3 years late! but I'm kinda confused between cort cr50 and epiphone lp special ve! which one would you suggest as a secondary guitar? I already use cort x100 and I absolutely love that guitar! And did epiphone discontinue manufacturing some of their les paul models (like lp 100, etc) cause I don't see those on their official website?

    • @WombatPage
      @WombatPage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, Epiphone have changed a lot of their models including the LP Special. They still do the Slash LP Special pack which is similar to the old LP Special. To be honest, I was really impressed with the CR50. The fit and finish was better than the Epi and the pickups were better than the Epi LP Special. In fact, you will be familiar with them as they are the same pickups as you have in the X100. All in all, I thought the CR50 was a better guitar than the LP Special. Hope this helps.

      For me, it comes down to what kind of music you want to play on it. While you can play most kinds of music on both guitars, if you want to play hard rock and metal genres then the Strat won't do that very well but the CR50 will. Both guitars are well built and quality.

    • @WombatPage
      @WombatPage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say they are a hot vintage kind of pickup. Great with distortion and awesome clean. It depends on how much dirt we are talking about here. Rock and blues are kinda what they are aimed at, not so much metal. They will do metal but other pickups would do it better.

    • @WombatPage
      @WombatPage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have only had the chance to play one SGR model and it wasn't the S-1. Quality instruments for sure. It really depends on the kind of music you want to play. Schecter are aimed at the metal and hard rock genres whilst the Cort CR50 is aimed at rock and blues kind of stuff. Both quality but I think in most cases the Cort CR50 is probably a little cheaper.

    I like to play rock. Would you recommend the squier bullet mustang or this cort cr50?

    • @WombatPage
      @WombatPage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what kind of rock you want to play. If you want to play light rock or folk type rock then the mustang is the guitar for you. If you want to play heavier rock then the CR50 is the weapon of choice. It's more about the pickups than the guitar itself.

    hello sir. thank you for the review. just one question. i don't know much about guitars. this was my first one and recently I had the opportunity to get an Epiphone SG special. pardon my ignorance, but I wanna know which one is "better", (I have been enjoying more playing the Cort than the epi)

    • @WombatPage
      @WombatPage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      G'day Manuel, both the CR50 and the SG Special are entry level guitars, that means they are made to be someones first guitar so they are about the same level of instrument. Both are quality and will take a student instrument far and as such one is not really better than the other.
      They are different from each other however, different shape, different necks, different pickups and different hardware. What it comes down too is what you like in body shape and neck. I am a Les Paul fan so I like the CR50 shape but I have played a lot with an SG Special and it's a quality instrument.
      If you bought the two most expensive guitars in the world you would still play one more than the other. For some reason or another we are drawn to one over another. It can just speak to us more, it could be shape, colour or the neck could feel better in our hands or we could just prefer the sound of the pick ups, who knows. Doesn't mean one is better than the other, just that we prefer one. This is why we should try and have a play of an instrument before we buy it.
      Congrats on owning two guitars dude but be careful. Buying instruments can become addictive. I own 10 - 12 instruments and I have bought at least one that I have reviewed (Slash Les Paul) and came close to buying at least two more.
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

      The action was quite good but keep in mind it's adjustable, so you can always raise or lower it to what you like. As far as playing live, it's designed to be a beginners guitar but you could play it live if you wanted to and with a great set of pickups in it you could play almost anything you liked. Cort are one of the biggest manufacturers in the world and make a lot of guitars for other brands both big and small. It's possible they may make, or have made in the past, some of the Harley Benton stuff.

    • @650thunderbird
      @650thunderbird 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're probably right about that, just that you would think HB would try to distinguish itself from another brand, rather than telling Cort "just use whatever leftovers for our necks" (complete supposition of course :))

    • @WombatPage
      @WombatPage  7 ปีที่แล้ว
