Still one of the greatest groups of all-time.
The one dark side to the Beach Boys, is when my mom introduced me to them and nothing was mentioned at the time.
I remember an SNL skit with Aykroyd and Belushi as "surf police" and served a "warrant" on Brian Wilson, who was clad in a bathrobe in his mansion and Dan and John tell Brian, "Let's go surfing now. Everybody's learning how. Come on a safari with us!" and they go to the beach and make Brian surf. 🤣

My mother went to a high school dance in Hawthorne with some friends. She was walking around looking for the auditorium when a "tall" kid (in her opinion as she was kinda small) with "perfect" hair asked her where said auditorium was as his band was playing that dance. She told him she didn't know as she was looking for it herself. He thanked her and walked off.
Cut to 2-3 years later when she was watching the Ed Sullivan show and she remembered that "tall" kid on bass singing I Get Around. She said she let out the biggest scream of happiness.

I saw the Beach Boys at Exhibition Stadium back in the late 70s with my mom and a friend of hers! They were amazing! There were so many beach balls being tossed around! It was like one massive beach party! Even the police and security were getting in on the fun! It was awesome!! I so love their music!! To this day I still listen to it cuz it brings back so many cool memories!! 😎
