- We had an amazing time at the Moore Expo with the Hiker Trailer Gang. This is the first video of our journey to Moore. 2023 was a season of rain for me too. That's why I finally pulled the trigger on a Hiker. I'm thrilled to have a 270 awning to hide under this year 😃

Yes! Lol! Pigeon peas are totally underrated and underutilized! Love them and use them whenever I can. Where did you grow up?
Heyyy guys!!!! Wow!! Those Good to go meals look so practical!! And good tooo!!! Thanks for taking us camping with you both!! Bummer that the one campground was partially under water and they were still charging that much! The second campground looked like you had the place to yourselves! 🙌 Here for the invasive species lesson!! lol 😂🙌🙌 Seriously though! You seem so smart and that was so informative! Dinner looks yummm!! You guys are living the life!!! It’s not gringoed 😂😂😂 I prefer my food Gringoed too though loll
@roryandsage guys!!!! They really came in clutch on this trip. We didn't have a lot of sit and relax time on this trip, so it was nice to have something both quick and healthy to eat. Thank you! I'm all for "Eat the weeds and save the planet" Gringo Jerk would've been a miscarriage of justice! I just couldn't do it! LOL!!!

We had our first camp last weekend. Switched some things this year. Instead of a mounted awning, went with a 10x10 canopy (it’s pretty heavy, hopefully that means durable)
Also got a G6 Gazelle gazebo. That’s a game changer. Our awning room was 8x8 and barely 6’ tall. By the time the table and stuff was there, we had no place to sit. With the gazelle, we can put our big chairs in there and relax in the morning / if it rains. Can also put our propane fire pit in there.
New interior storage and a new mattress.
Hopefully it makes it all a little easier and more comfortable.
Hey @chadi7173 ! Thanks for the welcome! Sounds like some nice mods! Everyone we talk to seems to really love that Gazelle! Really nice to enjoy ur fire pit without the annoying skeeters.

I always enjoy seeing you two. Great foraging, I could watch an hour of that. Well after 6 months on the tarmac, we finally got our license plate and we are just going for it! We will be camping this weekend for the first time. Its a hipcamp site that is in Paso Robles, CA. We have to drive up a road where a Highlander couldn't make it, let the adventure begin. We are totally not ready, it will be a blast!

@@skywaystohighways Well we learned a lot about all the features on the Hiker. We had a really good time. The only thing we didn't try out was our awning, its just a rectangle, not the batwing. Our 9 x 9 gazelle was very helpful. I was surprised that running the propex all night left me at 53% capacity on the yeti goalzero1000X. I charged it back up to 90% and dropped it back down to 63% only running it twice. I was not ready for that! We can't find a campsite in a cool environment now, so we are looking at the ecoflow wave 2 with a ecoflow power pack and 2, 200 watt portable solar panels. Cant wait for your next video.

I've already cancelled 2 outings this season, due to nasty weather, and it looks like this coming weekend's trip might be rained-out also.

@retnav92 Pretty crazy, right? Weather can be such a bummer during the camping season. Well... any time really, but especially when you want to enjoy the outdoors. Pre prepping most of a meal is something I live by. Really speeds up dinner prep when you’re just warming up most of the ingredients.

Definitely @Cbockhoff ! I'm all for the meal prep! This trip it was absolutely necessary. Not a lot of sit and chill time. The jerk mushrooms are awesome, but it looks like I'll have to dial down the heat level a bit. Lol!
Absolutely 👍. I even pre-cook hamburgers and then vacuum seal them for camp meals. I also pre-scramble eggs the night before, and store them in a sturdy leak-proof bottle that fits in the 12v fridge. Saves a whole lot of time, and... you don't have to worry about breaking eggs in transit.

What type of heater did Gary hook up?
Thank you @frenchielvr So glad to hear! We recently had a Truma propane heater installed to extend our season into the colder months. Fall into early Winter is incredible here in New Hampshire. Video coming soon.
@@skywaystohighways that’s such a great idea. We’re originally from Long Island so I know all about those crazy winters, but we live in Georgia now and the winters here can get pretty brutal too!
