It’s September 2018 & I am still happily using my 60D. Sure, an upgrade would be nice but I find a lot of unnecessary functions are already on the 60D. I prefer to shoot & head to Lightroom. Touch screen, wifi, app, in camera multiple exposure, etc., would all be nice but I’m still happily making great photos, time lapse, long exposures, portraits & money from my photography so I guess I want to say, don’t get too caught up in the gear. I know plenty of people who can pick up a crappy old rusty stringed guitar & make it sound great... as a metaphorical example. ✌️
The buttons were enough to make me want to upgrade. Hate how unresponsive and squishy they are. It’s a good camera and I still use it, but the feel in the hand left a lot to be desired in comparison to my old 50D. but I use a 7D as my main camera now, performance very similar between the 2 cameras, but the build quality, AF, fps and viewfinder is just superior.
If you make video, then definitely go with the 70D. The autofocus controlled by a touchscreen is a lifesaver for me and is very useful in real world use where you don't have a lot of time to get the "perfect shot".
Jordan Staiger I just got the 60d. honestly even if the 70d is slightly better it's not 500$ better. the differences in produced images is so menial it's pretty much undetectable and all that matters is end results.
Very strange conclutions. On test shots I clearly see the 60D (on top) has LESS noize, cleaner picture and more details than 70D. Did you accidentally swap the labels? Very strange I must say
finally found a great review and comparison video that didn't bore and confuse me. i think the 70d is what im gonna go for since i want to do makeup videos.
Thank you Majid. This is the 2nd of your videos on Canon I watched. Both of them are excellent. A DSLR novice like me learnt a lot and you are very clear in your voice and tempo of the speech is excellent. Your technical expertise is second to none. You do this free service to the world. You will certainly be blessed. Thanks mate.

THIS IS A BEST AND AWESOME Canon comparation i ever seen in youtube! You guys doing great job with this reviews, its needs 1000K of views...you deserve this! BIG UP from Russia! Peace!
That was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the simple, yet detailed and beautifly edited comparison of these two fine dslrs. Liked and subscribed :)
From what I have seen myself in music videos and short films from 2016-2019...minus all the pro "pro" statistics on 70D..(all that zooming in etc), is not all that necessary in video work...alot of directors videos I have seen have sharp and superb quality in their work using the 60D..even here years later in 2019. So Ill be going with the 60D!
Thank you for a very thorough review/comparison between the two. What I really want to know after watching the whole thing, is what did YOU use to film THIS video? I want the camera you have, such incredible quality and so enjoyable to watch. Well done.
i am about buy my first dslr camera and i am gonna use video and photo modes equally. i have basic experience with dslrs, like how to use and stuff. should i go for 60d or 70d ??
One new feature of the 70D you have missed that I find important is that it now can write GPS data to the photos. You still need an external GPS receiver for that, but still a big difference to the 60D that has no GPS capability at all.
very nice comparison, i myself purchased the 70d this past November , still learning all the feature as i am an amateur pro and semi pro cameras user , but i have learned much from videos like this and others, thank you for your insight.
Amazing video. I've watched so many and this one actually helped a beginner like myself! Thank you so much for the time and effort put into this! a 70d it is!
Finally someone did a good review! Great job man, showing every detail, i think you can show to us more of the remote control, can we start video recording from a android device on 70D? Thanks and Great job on the video! Stay doing this!
Best comparison ever, nicely done. The 70D is very good for video, but for people that don't shoot video at all or very seldom the 60D is a great deal at half the price of the 70D right now. I'm grabbing a 60D this Christmas for my back-up body, had one before and I miss the swivel screen the most.
This month I bought a 60D used at $370 in excellent condition. I missed the swivel LCD screen of my sold T3i. Bought it for installing the Magic lantern which has a lot of cool features. Btw, I have also a 5D3, 7D and a EOS M. i.e. one advanced FF and 3 18mp canon dslr. Just can't resist the price of this 60D.
Awesome comparison, I own a 60d and was thinking of selling to buy the 70d but after watching this review and others i've decided to way for something better in the future.
Can i ask something? do you use different lens when you take a picture from 60d and 70d ? because for the colour seems quite different, i thought the 60d better than 70d for the colour. the 70d a liitle bit yellow, imo.
Just bought a 60D. My first step into the 10-series (had a 300D then a t1i). At this point I think as long as I don't damage it, it won't lose significant value. I'm planning on using it for a year or two, learning, then upgrading.
It was missing in USPS for a few days during which time I decided I really wanted a 70D and bought one used. Tonight it looks like USPS found it, they sent me an alert tonight. It'll show up probably tomorrow, and I'll put it on eBay for probably $400 shipped, which is what I paid for it.
Hi Majid, thanks for the excellent review. One thing though: You've stated that you can control the camera remotely using Wi-Fi even in video mode. But I've read that movie mode is disabled when Wi-Fi is active. Which is correct?
Thanks for the video, nice work. I have a 60d and a 6d, I am interested in upgrading my 60d to a 70d for the new processor and better low light capabilities for sports. I like having a full frame and a cropped body in my bag for when I need more reach. As of now I have to use the 6d for the 2nd 1/2 of the football game as the 60d has too much grain after dark with a high iso and faster shutter speeds need to freeze the action.
Great video, thank for putting together such a great comparison! Out of interest, what do u use for your voice over recording setup? Sounds very nice and smooth. Thanks
Thank you for comparison review. It seems to me the image quality of 60D is better vs 70D: brighter, less noise. The reason is the Sensor Resolution of 60D of 18MP compare to 20.2 MP of 70D. Just look at the test photoes more precisely. 70D could be better with 18MP Sensor Resolution I guess. If the WiFi, touch screen, auto focus are key points the 70D is better to buy, but image quality of 60D looks better. Image quality of Nikon D7200 is better than Canons` one but I personally would buy Canon 70D.
I have the same question as below - entering in the market is the the 70D worth the price over the 60D. I would like to spend more money on the lenses right?
Hi. I have watched your video comparing the 60D to the 70D and I think that's a great insight. thanks. But I'm still wondering which of the two cameras I should buy for my video shoots. Any suggestions?
i would say that 70D really only improves in video mode... if you need a camera mainly for photo, 60D still performs rock solid... in a semi-pro format with a low price on 2020. 70D seems like good for video, but the lack of 1080p 60fps might be a turndown compared to say 80D
hey man, amazing video but just a quick friendly notice. there's way too much bass in your voice that i had to turn down my speakers just make sure next time in the edit process boost the treble to equal it out with the bass.
One very important thing that you forgot, was that, the Canon 70D has a camera connect, and you install other color profiles in the camera directly through the pc, there are more than 157 free color profiles, to use both in video and in photos, such as Cinestyle, Vivid Skyntone, Marvels Cine-log, Scarlet, one point color, only blue, only red, etc..., this for me is the most important difference, you have no idea how much the image improves when you install Vivid Skyntone , the photo is already edited, probably this did not exist 9 years ago.
Hey guys. Im Planning to buy a DSLR and I'm still a beginner. I have been using 600D of my friend for my portfolio shoots and its time for me to get my own.. As I have a budget. I have 1300D as an option or shall I buy a used 60D instead.? What do you guys suggest?
Great comparison video! In all honesty, in your expert opinion, which camera is an ideal choice for a somewhat newcomer to DSLR photography? The 70D is about $1200 range while the 60D with a kit lens, 75-300 IS lens & a bag goes for $800. Am I going to lose out with the technological advances of the 70D? Ideally it's shooting photos & training videos for a sports biz, a lot of fast speed bursts. As I said, I'm new to DSLR photography. Thanks!
Great video. Very well put together! Very informative. Thinking of buying a 60D for Vblogging on my youtube channel...looking for options. What do you think?
I have the 60D. It's nice camera, but it doesn't have touchscreen, 70D has. They don't have huge differences between them, so buy which one you want to.
Not a lot of time spent on the wifi capabilities of the 70d but a fantastic comparison of the two cameras. My question...I know you can fire the 70d remotely from a mobile device but does the wifi also send pictures too the mobile device and at what speed? Thanks so much for the comparisons.
I'm so confused. I'm deciding between t6i, 60D and 70D. I want a good camera but I don't want to spend more money for less quality. The thing is... on Amazon the 70D seems significantly less expensive than the 60D. Why? I thought the 70D was newer and better quality?
maytheodds I got the t6i 4 months ago, it was either t6i with tamron 17-55 no vc or 70d with kit lens. the 70d was better but they got out of stock when I was getting it so desperately i got the t6i and now I regret it. I want to sell only my t6i body and get a 60d. mostly for weather sealing and magic lantern. if you can get 70d get it, it's for 750 refurbished on canon. it's the same a new basically
The 70D has an inbuilt stereo microphone, the 60D has only an inbuilt mono microphone. To me that makes a big difference. Both cameras can record in stereo if you use an external stereo microphone, though.
I agree the external microphones are better in an ideal situation, and I have external microphones as well. But whether I use them or not, depends very much on the circumstances. When I'm filming at a birthday party where I'm a guest, I might well just stick with the inbuilt microphone, because I'm not sure that my friends would appreciate having a microphone stuck under their noses just because they want to make a little speech. Even if they put up with it, it might well inhibit their ability to speak well. Besides, the internal microphone of the 70D is quite good.
+Lau Bjerno I didn't considered that you use this for those situations, but sure if I were on a birthday party I wouldn't like to have a huge mic right under my nose.
I have the Canon 40D and need to upgrade. I mainly take pictures but love the idea of having video with it. I take sports pictures frequently. I have the L series 24-70 2.8 lens and the L series 70-200 2.8 lens. Will that make a difference in the video or still shot on either camera. Should I get a different lens for these cameras.
Hello, Am new to DSLR and am planning to buy Canon 60D and start my learning. Could you please let me know which would be better either 60D or 70D in terms of entry level learning. Thanks.
Hi there, I would like to buy 60D + 18-200mm third party lens.. please suggest on tamron or sigma or anyother better one (branded 18-200 almost costs equal to body rate, I think cant afford now)
Have a problem with my 5 year old 60D. Battery light flashing and will not power up or will shut down when trying to review a picture. Thinking of buying another 60D camera or upgrading to 70D. Sending a camera to canon is not cheap, when I can purchase another one for the same price.
What is the average Video bit rate of Canon 70D??? I am currently using 60 D but I am looking for a camera which allows you to record videos at 50 mbps or more...
2020 and my 60D is still going strong. No immediate plans to upgrade it.
Love my 60d
Sir please i wish your account still active cz i have some question... 😅 bout to buy 60d in the end of 2023 for wedding photography and videography...
I am in the market for a new camera. This video is probably the 100th video I've watched and I'm about 85-90% convinced that the 60D is the way to go.
get the refurbished 70d at canon store its only 25 bucks more
If you make video, then definitely go with the 70D. The autofocus controlled by a touchscreen is a lifesaver for me and is very useful in real world use where you don't have a lot of time to get the "perfect shot".
In EU there is a 150euro price difference between two cameras so, ya 60D it is
Jordan Staiger I just got the 60d. honestly even if the 70d is slightly better it's not 500$ better. the differences in produced images is so menial it's pretty much undetectable and all that matters is end results.
dirtyjew1974 I'm shopping now and want to know if the 60d has auto focus?
I have a 60D (Jan. 2018) and after viewing your review, I decided to keep it.
Very strange conclutions. On test shots I clearly see the 60D (on top) has LESS noize, cleaner picture and more details than 70D. Did you accidentally swap the labels? Very strange I must say
You have a problem in your eyes, it's not sharp enough, as i see you just go with the brighter but not sharper.
finally found a great review and comparison video that didn't bore and confuse me. i think the 70d is what im gonna go for since i want to do makeup videos.

We actually had the Canon t2i before this update, currently we use the 60D. We got the 70D for review and comparison.

same question bro....
Tutorials Junction video is beter on 70D but you should going for 60D with magic lanter
I would save up for the extra cash and go for the 70d
Go for the 60D as the 70D can stop working because of overheating. (see my own comment)
One new feature of the 70D you have missed that I find important is that it now can write GPS data to the photos. You still need an external GPS receiver for that, but still a big difference to the 60D that has no GPS capability at all.

Waj is my brother, We both make videos for this channel and i have no idea why the 70d has no headphone jack for audio monitoring.
Best comparison ever, nicely done. The 70D is very good for video, but for people that don't shoot video at all or very seldom the 60D is a great deal at half the price of the 70D right now. I'm grabbing a 60D this Christmas for my back-up body, had one before and I miss the swivel screen the most.
gosh!! u are amazing!! your voice is soothing and you just explain so well !! detailed! amazing!!! ☺️
Excellent review of the Canon 60D vs 70D. Thank You.

Been thinking about getting it as a first camera
Excellent review! Thanks for the very good info. You've got some very polished and very high quality videos, and you speak really well too.
Best comparison and review I've ever watched !!Keep it up !
Awesome comparison, I own a 60d and was thinking of selling to buy the 70d but after watching this review and others i've decided to way for something better in the future.
This is how one should make a comparison video.... osm video brother..
I have Canon 60D great camera for photography!!
You wanna sell it ?
Can i ask something? do you use different lens when you take a picture from 60d and 70d ? because for the colour seems quite different, i thought the 60d better than 70d for the colour. the 70d a liitle bit yellow, imo.
It may have just been his White Balance settings on the 70D. Not sure though.
I finally know what I'll be getting this Christmas!
Which camera do you choose?
Vanikwa Cooper 70d :)
Great format. Very professional look and informative also. Answered all my questions. Thanks.
That was possibly the best comparison video i have ever seen.
Thank you for the very comprehensive comparison.
Just bought a 60D. My first step into the 10-series (had a 300D then a t1i). At this point I think as long as I don't damage it, it won't lose significant value. I'm planning on using it for a year or two, learning, then upgrading.

Very impressive comparison, I just returned my new 60d to get the 70d.
Best comparison vedio i have ever seen nice detailing. Keep going
Thanks for the video, nice work. I have a 60d and a 6d, I am interested in upgrading my 60d to a 70d for the new processor and better low light capabilities for sports. This is what i was looking for, thank you!
I still prefer my 60D with new update lens than this 70D lol almost 400$ different i rather add couple of bucks for 24-105 F4L lens better
Very good video. Learned a lot from it really appreciate it man
how about hdmi? uncompress ?
Great video, thank for putting together such a great comparison! Out of interest, what do u use for your voice over recording setup? Sounds very nice and smooth. Thanks
Outstanding video! Very well done!
What mic are you talking into for the video?
Excellent review. But it still hard to decide which model to buy. Canon 70D looks a good choice. Thks
Much help for us... the broke ones.. I think i can live with the 60D for less money. Thank you.
what a fantastic review, exactly what i was looking for, thanks a lot
Thank you for comparison review. It seems to me the image quality of 60D is better vs 70D: brighter, less noise. The reason is the Sensor Resolution of 60D of 18MP compare to 20.2 MP of 70D. Just look at the test photoes more precisely. 70D could be better with 18MP Sensor Resolution I guess.

fantastic review for both cameras
what a nice desk! oh, thanks for the comparison!
I have the same question as below - entering in the market is the the 70D worth the price over the 60D. I would like to spend more money on the lenses right?
Great video! Could you tell me what lenses did you use to film with both cameras? It's not the kit lens, right?
I've just brought a 70D it's abit late but I was using 500D so I'm hoping most of the lenses will work on there too.
All your lenses should work
+teejamgal All canon lenses fit all canon DSLR bodies
***** the 70d is not a full frame body
Dude you make a great job I love it
Just upgraded from a 60D to the 70D also just a quick one will my battery grip from the 60D fit 70D
Very professionally compared, thanks :)
It's OK to use the 60d at weddings(with the 24-105L)? Nice video..
Because i want to make sure that my pictures will be perfect..
Hey, nice review syed! Just want to know what camera you using to shoot this video review, thanks!
Hi. I have watched your video comparing the 60D to the 70D and I think that's a great insight. thanks. But I'm still wondering which of the two cameras I should buy for my video shoots. Any suggestions?
Sweet comparison, thanks man!
Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
thank you for your comparison it help me make a choice.
thank you for the video..what do you think is the best camera of canon from 40~80d for video shooting?
very helpful comparison video. thank you.
i would say that 70D really only improves in video mode... if you need a camera mainly for photo, 60D still performs rock solid... in a semi-pro format with a low price on 2020.

Gret job... It helped me to buy 70D ... Thanks...
Thanks!
Hi there..can you please tell me where u can buy 60d with a kit lens, 75-300 is lens and a bag??
quality video dude. thanks for this!
I was torn Between the Two to all those years ago, however I can use 60D for TH-cam videos today where the 70D I would struggle.
Ok thanks. I ended up getting a t5I. But thanks for the info.
Cheers!
Great video man
interesting ! thanks for lighting me up . any idea how to upgrade my canon 60d to 70d? Thank you so much.
Not a lot of time spent on the wifi capabilities of the 70d but a fantastic comparison of the two cameras. My question...I know you can fire the 70d remotely from a mobile device but does the wifi also send pictures too the mobile device and at what speed?
Thanks so much for the comparisons.
Buen video , from Argentina! Salud!
I'm so confused. I'm deciding between t6i, 60D and 70D. I want a good camera but I don't want to spend more money for less quality. The thing is... on Amazon the 70D seems significantly less expensive than the 60D. Why? I thought the 70D was newer and better quality?

The 70D has an inbuilt stereo microphone, the 60D has only an inbuilt mono microphone. To me that makes a big difference.
Both cameras can record in stereo if you use an external stereo microphone, though.
I know that your comment was posted a long time ago but I think for good audio you would buy an external microphone anyways.
+Lau Bjerno I didn't considered that you use this for those situations, but sure if I were on a birthday party I wouldn't like to have a huge mic right under my nose.
+letgreven And a good built in mic comes quite neat in those situations.
I have the Canon 40D and need to upgrade. I mainly take pictures but love the idea of having video with it. I take sports pictures frequently. Dear Sir, I want to buy one Camera from you. Before I buy, I want to know what is the difference of prices between 70D and 60D?
Hello,
Am new to DSLR and am planning to buy Canon 60D and start my learning. Could you please let me know which would be better either 60D or 70D in terms of entry level learning.
Thanks.
If you don't have either I would defiantly buy the 70d.
overall, I think it's a sufficient upgrade. In terms of sound, I believe that 70D is a WHOLE LOT BETTER. Very obvious from your review! Thank you!
Nice video bud 🔥
Excellent! Buh I want to find out your settings for shooting this tutorial.... Thank you.....
Thanks, great video
Just sold one of my 60D's for a GH4. Was considering the 70D but Canon doesn't seem to have any interest in making 4k happen anytime soon.
they do on their higher end cameras like the EOS 1D C, but at 15K for the body, its not for the budget challenged individual.
I HAVE A CANON 550D BUT I WANT TO UPGRADE WHICH OF THE 2 YOU RECOMMEND THE 60D OR 70D.
Thanks Majid.... 70D is really cool!!!
nice video. I was a little confused about if the 60d does continues focus?
Hi there, I would like to buy 60D + 18-200mm third party lens..
please suggest on tamron or sigma or anyother better one
(branded 18-200 almost costs equal to body rate, I think cant afford now)
should I buy the 60d or the 70d? At the moment I have a 350d. Is the 70d 200 euro more worth?
How does the 70d compare in terms of long night time exposures and the noise present at 30s+Blulb exposures. Thanks, Great Video
Have a problem with my 5 year old 60D. Battery light flashing and will not power up or will shut down when trying to review a picture. Thinking of buying another 60D camera or upgrading to 70D. Sending a camera to canon is not cheap, when I can purchase another one for the same price.
which lance is quite better at the primary stage of it..stm 18-135/ III55-250 plz just explain..
This video helps me so much!
What is the average Video bit rate of Canon 70D??? I am currently using 60 D but I am looking for a camera which allows you to record videos at 50 mbps or more...
Great video! Very helpful.
Would you upgrade to the 70D, from a 60D. and for what reasons
