    Without doubt one of the best tutorials I have seen on TH-cam.
    Thanks so much for taking the time to put these together you've really helped me understand this great camera.
    Thanks again.

      @@thuryn.mitchell I recently upgraded to the 90D. Even better 🙂

    • @edwardlucas8333
      @edwardlucas8333 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thuryn.mitchell I weighed the pros and cons and the features of both. I didn’t like the idea of an adapter ring so I got to keep my lenses.
      The only real advantageS i see to a full frame over a DSLR is weight and the low light shooting with a frameless. I do mostly outside street photography and indoo macro which I control the light. The 90D is an impressive camera

      @sparking._.alzz._.9541 I have since sold the 70D and upgraded to the 90D. The 70D was an amazing camera till the day I sold it, snapshots and video. The 90D adds wifi connection and better focusing as well as higher MP.

    ZY Productions, I have watched all of the Tutorials, from Training Video 1 to Training Video 17.
    I will like to say a big thank you to you.
    I used to have a Canon EOS 600D, and then i upgraded to a Canon EOS 5D Mark III.
    I needed a second camera body (just as backup, and not really for every time use). So i went for the Canon EOS 70D.
    I needed to go through the functionality the camera offers. A bit different and I like to know all the details of my gear.
    Your tutorials are:
    very straightforward
    Clearly articulated
    Legibly presented, avoiding jargon, and you took your time explaining every fine detail.
    Well done. I recommend this channel to serious photographers who like to understand their gear and get the best out of their equipment. :-)

    I have looked at a number of cameras and training videos/reviews for Canon cameras, as I have considered a few, but this is by far the best and easily beats the instruction manual. It is extremely thorough and detailed; thanks for the enormous amount of work that you put into it.

    Almost skipped this basic intro since I am a long time Canon camera user, but just bought 70D. Glad I watched this, learned several things I never knew that applies to other Canon cameras as well (e.g., what the white vs. red button means for the lens). Learned even more about the 70D, will be watching your other videos as well. Great work, easy to understand with quality video and audio. Thanks much!

    OK. Here's the harsh truth. I'm stupid. But you make great videos for stupid people! You take no knowledge for granted. Many other videos assume that the student knows how to use aspects of the camera, which can leave you futilely trying to figure out how to enable a function that you're trying to learn about. You, on the other hand, use a true step by step method. You should get an Academy Award for making training films for dopes. From the bottom of my heart-- thanks.

    ZY! Have been through your entire Canon 70D play list. OUTSTANDING! Its saving me a lot of time and will continue to be a ready reference.Would like to have seen more on shooting video, but I understand that this section of the play list was intended as an introduction. In particular, I would like to see a chapter on how to "pull focus" using the touch screen --- all the way from turning on the camera, on. Have you treated shooting video in more detail, elsewhere ? Thanks for the overview. Yesterday when I clicked the top AF button, I could adjust between Ai servo etc. But now when I am viewing through the LIVE view and press the AF button on top, the AF options of Tracking, Flexizone Multi/Single and AF Quick appear on my screen, and I can no longer change the Ai Servo, Ai Focus or One Shot.. Ideas on what setting I must've adjusted to make this happen when in LIVE view? This does not happen when viewing the camera without the Live view.

    Are you able to shoot video only through the viewfinder? Or do you need the LCD on at all times?

  • @AdvaitThakur
    @AdvaitThakur 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is exactly what I was looking for. But I did not find even after searching here for days. Tonight I just saw this on home page. You not only explained but also showed each and every control in detail and in close up. Thanks !
    I want to ask you about shooting a video from DSLR. Like many said while using Canon, Nikon DSLR, videographers have to change the focus manually and its skill. But they have to use manual focus only due to delay in focus when at Autofocus mode. Even you have to do the same here.
    I want to know how is Canon while taking a video in Autofocus ? I feel you used manual focus while shooting this one.

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use manual focus for video 90% of the time. Autofocus for video used to be unpredictable and unreliable. However, now with the Dual Pixel CMOS tech, the autofocus for video is actually very useable. I don't find myself using it too often, but I will not deny that it is very handy at times. Manual focusing will give you complete control over the focus pull. And remember, if you're shooting something like a short film, the AF will not be able to anticipate the movement of your subjects like you can.

    • @AdvaitThakur
      @AdvaitThakur 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect answer, cleared all my doubts.
      Yes I asked this question while keeping in mind the Dual pixel camera from Canon and the Translucent mirror from Sony. And yes I'm looking forward to make a short film, hence, I have such doubts. You read my mind 😊

Now you have to understand this is all brand new to me but I was wondering about the flash and where it was (I honestly thought I had to buy an external flash), so I pushed the button and .... nothing. I see where it is suppose to pop up but it doesn't. Is there some kind of setting it is suppose to be on to get it to pop up? Thanks for your help and the awesome video.

      Nevermind, I got it to work, but I had to do some jiggling but eventually it pops up and flashes when its required to do so (first time, yeah!!) but it still doesn't pop up when I hit that release button you showed but maybe thats a setting I need.

I just want to ask you that is there any meaning of 'Feature Guide' enable or disable (in setting menu 3 in canon 70D) because I enable or disable it wan't shown information about current shooting mode in LCD panel. Even though i rotate mode dial LCD is always blank. I have to always click info button to check the current shooting mode.
