I have what I call “the Holy Spirit fund” which is what I set aside over tithing, etcetera by which I show my love to Him. It’s not touched until He directs me when, where and to whom to give it.
This practice has profoundly affected my relationship with Him.

Are you letting a disappointment, what somebody did to you, keep you from enjoying this day? Let it go. Life is happening. Today is a gift. Once we live this day, we can’t get it back. Don’t live angry and sit on the sidelines. Time is too short to live bitter, offended. God knows what you didn’t get. He knows what wasn’t fair. Quit trying to make people pay you back. Go to God, and He’ll make it up to you.

As I just sent a message to my son as I have tithed for many years and I never forget God first and it goes through my church and more. The truth is I do feel I have an addiction to spending and God has been working on me in that area and I am cutting down and very aware on everything I spend now. I do feel God has protected me for that reason for many years because I always have to God first. I never declared bankruptcy or overdid to lose my home. Now I do feel I have been put in prison in all areas to use all my $ for God’s grace. It is not easy but will be handled God’s way . Blessings to all

You must discern who you give your money to
Absolutely! Fortunately for us, we have the Holy Spirit for such matters.
Yes I was once under great attack giving my money to drug addicts and making myself poor I gave around 130 to one person one day who someone told me was an addict who blocked me the next day and then gave over 300 to a couple I'm not even convinced are homeless to fund a blatant habit. I got to a point where I wasn't even giving cheerfully anymore I was just giving out of compulsion I was making myself poor to fund someone's habit and Satan was using the scriptures against me "give to the one who begs from you" and then I was getting to the point I knew they were spending the money dishonestly but he'd then say to me who are you to judge. Now I am very reluctant to give actual money out. There's another homeless guy near me who I once seen hide a bag of drugs under his feet as I spoke to him. I asked him today if he wanted food or a drink and he said no someone's getting him one but then asked for money. There is another guy I used to give money to who himself admitted to me he was on drugs and that he actually had an income as well. You have to be so careful. The thing is God was warning me the whole time but I was falling for the lies of the evil one because I was so new to the faith.
Now I will give food and drink to the homeless but very rarely give money because 90% of them are on drugs.
I seen one begging outside my local supermarket not long ago who had about 3 bags of food he'd been given, plus I gave him a food voucher for asda but he said he'd leave once he'd got more money.
What does he need money for when he's got all that?
It makes you question the legitimacy of these people.

I believe that God is able. I have always made food and clothes the homeless and I am on the verge of being homeless myself now…..I often wonder why I am in this state…..I have done so many prayers and deliverances to release my family and I from lack yet I feel like God hears but doesn’t respond. I’ve given myself over to Jesus and yet continue to be in need. I continue to pray, love, fast for myself and others in need.

Grace came to us through Jesus Christ & Grace can't be earned
Your last point is true but the flow of God’s grace into us, and our lives can be, will be, increased by our obedience to His will, and our expressing our love to Him.

Grace and Peace to you. We should financially support the church, however scripture doesn't teach that we must give at least a tenth of our income.
We're not under mosaic law, and what Abraham and Jacob did was a DEscription of their act of faith and worship, not a PREscription for all believers for all time.

I understand sharing the word of God to lesser developed nations and filling them spiritually but that isn't enough. Faith without works is dead. They'll get the word and be full spiritually filled yes, but physically they are still hungry.
God also said that he who gives to the poor will lack nothing; but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses. You can always alternate between the two..or give to both. The Lord sees the motive of our giving.

Churches are business establishments. The teachers are more concern about the building than the people. I witness that over and over. They are not doing Matthew 6:33.

Sad to say many today ARE like that. We need to be going to a church that preaches the Word, and not the health and wealth “gospel”. And a church that has a great missions outreach, even locally. And we need to be praying about it. We are to be wise

@@garyholt9936 it all depends on context my brother. Jesus is talking about a life and death situation. It is wrong to test God by putting your life on your line like Satan tried convincing Jesus to do by throwing Himself off a cliff.
In Malachi God is saying bring tithes into my place and surely I will repay you , he's asking you to do it so He can prove Himself and repay you for your good deeds.
Context is what matters. I hope I am speaking wisely and making sense to you.

Context and intention matters. The devil tested Jesus to trick him. Derek and the Malachi passage test God about whether He will keep His word to us, which God does.
