I have two agrilan planters and am quite happy with them, my only complaint about them is that when in the high position the water tends to stagnate, you think that you've put enough water in but the roots cannot reach the bottom and appear to be drying out out . I think they would be better standing on a flat surface as they are easily pushed out with your finger. Albert.

"The water doesn't last very long" - usually because they have not made sure that the compost is all the way down the plug! Fill the plugs off the stand on a flat surface and push it down - also helps in not spilling compost into the watering tray.

I learned very quickly from my first attempt at filling them Steve and I now also sieve the Compost to remove the big lumps.

I agree with you Terry about the Agralans....I have 5 now with another 2 on order. I must say I prefer the Mk1 design (grey base) as the eject system seems to work better but the UV stabilisation looks better on the new one 👍. PS I added the station ID (1234 etc) to the frame ...as the base can get separated The cells are numbers 1-7 in one direction and then A-E on the adjacent sides......each cell is then identifiable eg tray#2 4C. (adult battleships) 😀👍

Thank you for that tip Nigel, haven't chitted my tomatoes this time because of the issues with dropping them on the floor and all the labels fell out, these are ideal and will get some more when funds allow.

I have been using these 49 holes seedtrays for some years and find them useful. Mine trays are gray, but it's the same principle.
It is an advantage to sow the same type of seed or seeds that grow at the same rate. When the plugs are pushed out, all 49 plugs go out at the same time.
    All the best, Terry.

Wow, loads of vibrant veg on the go Terry. I have a couple of Agralans. First attempt to use was with onions and they failed, or should I say, I failed. Gonna be another freeze hit us by the end of the week. Hope it's not gonna be like that over there. I seen those sweet candles! Gonna wait a bit longer to get past this freeze to do ours. Nice one Terry they’ve definitely changed the material for the lids as mine was more of a white plastic like the tote boxes you get from B&Q etc those seem much clearer good idea to keep out of the sunlight. They’re great little plug planters although initially expensive they work really well and as long as you look after them will last years. Moisten the plugs before removing as well is a good idea after that they’re great straight into a bigger pot or straight into the ground. Cheers 🍻

Hi Terry King can I ask you a big question? when you do your filming 🎥 did you have to get permission do it or did you just start doing it the reason I'm asking is because I had a member from our town council today down the allotment and told me I had to stop doing my TH-cam channel because I don't have permission any advice would be great thanks nick

@@nicksveggiepatch1976 anyone can film in public and you only need permission from anyone who is in the film to put it on TH-cam so I try and wait when no one is about. To stay friendly with the council ask how you get permission and you have taken advice and would like to see what rule you are breaking.

I don't normally buy plastic for my seeds, but this has made alot of difference in my growing spaces Patrick.

You wouldn't believe the price of those over here! To get 4 of those, it would be cheaper to get a good quality 3D printer and make my own!!!

They aren't all that cheep here but well made and will last a long time, hopefully the market will open up over there and the price will come down, ice cube tray will have to do for now for you, cheep as chips.

Sorry Terry, thought I'd commented - laptop being naughty and hopping - I still haven't mastered the new book replacement, so keep shutting down the lappy and turning it back on. Amazingly the cursor actually clicks on things without me working it! Garghhh!
Sooooo I can't remember much but I did like the stubby nubbins at the base to lift the plants up. I remember Steve using his too. I still have loads of Rootrainers but they are gradually disintegrating and unable to get replacements unless you buy one at a time. I like the sturdiness of the new cells. Just bought a couple of Charles Dowding cells to try in the meantime. Agralan definitely gets the thumbs up all across the board so thank you for your review too, much appreciated. xx

I don't normally buy plastic for my plants, seeds and seedlings and prefer to reuse others throw outs, but these will last a long time and well worth the investment. Take care my friend.

I agree - I'm not loving the plastic, but trying to reuse while I can, so want something that will last - if it is eco friendly then that's fine - I hope. I have inherited my dad's flowerpots which are ancient but still good, although some are too big for the initial growing stage. Have a super day 🌱xx

Looks efficient. Be interested to see your thoughts on root disturbance when you transplant them. I'll keep a eye out from some popsicle makers at the dollar store :) Broccoli seems to worth the wait !!
    Cheers Terry
