Pheasant Shooting | Driven Birds | Working Dog

First day of the pheasant shooting season for us and we was kindly invited to a local shoot.
Barnaby our Springer Spaniel came along and had a great time picking up some birds.
It was the first time through for the birds on this day so we picked the best of the bunch which made for some great sport and some pheasant meat back on the table.

Never seen so many pheasants at one time. I usually do about 5 miles with my Boykin Spaniel to flush a couple of roosters. Different type of hunting here in the US.

So many birds! That is similar to a lot of my shooting here in the UK, I love a long walk with the dog to try and get a bird or two

Hi Pascal, thank you! I use 1/2 1/2 choke and love the Hull cartridges. The new Hydrowad cartridges are incredible too, i'll be using some next time

Can i ask what the bottom of those boots was sprayed with and why?

Bird Flu prevention, boots need to be sanitised. So do the truck wheels etc.

It was a disinfectant (not sure what) to help protect the shoot from bird flu 👍

Are those all farmed chickens ? Of course hunting pheasant that way and not with pen dogs, the ones that really stop, there should be such satisfaction as sitting back and scratching your balls.
