    The customer was lucky to have you in being proactive to help sort out these type of problems as opposed to wasting time, money and ending up with something they would not be happy with.

    When everyone's gone to bed and we're alone to finally watch a bit of TH-cam on the box, I hope you realise just how much we appreciate not having to break our necks to get to the remote because you've taken the care to quieten tools in the edit. Same goes for earbuds, lol👍

      Hi Alan. I really appreciate your comment as I have to split each bit of sawing off the original clip and then manually decrease the volume. 🤪 It actually takes me hours to edit just a short video as I'm not very computer savy 🙃. Thanks for watching. 😎

      @@ooslum It's just what came on my laptop when I bought it. I think it's Windows Video Editor. It's fairly basic, but does the job OK for what I want. 👍 Cheers.

    Agree 100% with you on saws, makes life so much easier with left and right hand blade saws.
    No such thing as "too many tools"

      @@fmautomotive3957 Hi there. 👋 I have started moving onto Freud blades now. They seem to keep their edge longer, and have a more stable plate under load. They also have large tips that can be sharpened many times. 👍 Cheers.

    Outstanding craftsmanship as always T.C. As I've stated in the past your work is in the finest traditions of the Victorian and Edwardian artisan. That's some beautiful structural timber you've got to work with there. Not like the shite we have to work with here. Sopping wet white deal, full of knots and as straight as a banana, 🙄🙄😭

      Hi TN. 👋 I'm very lucky to have an excellent timber merchant neat me, and they really stock some great quality stuff. As you say, there far to much of this Deal rubbish stocked in general builders merchants. The real trajety in this Country is that we have some outstanding carpenter/joiners but what we have to work with is pure dirt.     Interesting video. Up north of England splayed or chamfered tops to wallplates is used as an alternative to the textbook birdsmouths in traditional cut-timber roof structures. I'm wondering if a splayed edge to your packing members at the ridge would save you the birdsmouth cuts and make a stronger (though not needed) rafters / spars. A splayed edge set to the roof pitch should be enough support as the steelwork is going nowhere. Your method is the widespread practice though so who am I to say anything to the contrary. A fantastic job all round.

    A wood worker commenting on steel not normally being straight and true… made me snort my coffee out my nose… wood is never straight or true (or at least stay that way for long)… when you by wood by dimensions it doesn’t match what you ordered 😂

      I get what you're saying James👍but wood is a natural material very much affected by temperature and other atmospheric conditions, whereas steel is a manufacturered material which many, incorrectly in the case of structural steels, believe should be straight and true👌Thanks for your comment and now I have to try and get the mental image of snorted tea leaving your nose out of my head😆Cheers Del
