@@LB0206 Burr walks up to Hamilton and tries to hold his head, like Laurens, Lafayette, Mulligan and Hamilton all do together. Hamilton sort of pulls away, for three reasons: 1) that's an expression of affection he shares only with the other three 2) he doesn't have that same closeness with Burr. 3) Burr isn't actually that touchy feely, other than the first handshake, I don't think Burr touches anyone in the show. Plus, you can see he's uncomfortable when Laurens puts his hand on his shoulder (not just because he knows he's about to be mocked).
I love how at 1:36 Alexander's all "this is going to be juicy." And then when Burr says 'she's married to a British officer' he seems genuinely bummed for him. On the album I always got a far more judgy vibe, but none of that from Alexander on here, and I really love that.
1:40 I always find it so touchingly beautiful when Burr says “Congrats again Alexander.......Smile more. see you on the other side of the war.” Plus, Leslie really nails that part in play. That part really gives me all the feels. It’s so sad that Ham had to die at the hands of one his own comrades at one point in time.
Why is no one talking about how beautiful Alexander and Burr sound during that conversation? The way Burr looks at Alexander when he says "I will never understand you. If you love this woman go get her, what are you waiting for?" is so well done and subtle.
