Thank you for paying attention to the details. It gives a very professional and polished appearance. I also love your voice over. You explain everything, great teaching technique. Also thanks for not having music. One more thing, thank you for emphasizing not to waste material and to no pay full price for retail furniture.
This is my 5th video on reupholstering, and definitely the most helpful!! It's exactly how I want to do it as I don't have time for all that pro stuff. Thanks Queenii!!
I just found this 3 part series. OHHH you used hot glue? I would definitely use the staples as hot glue is notorious for coming apart. But, you were saying you don't feel like spending a lot of money on couches, I would love to, but I do not have the money. I was going to buy a recliner this week but now thinking finding an arm chair and ottoman or something used and doing this. Thank you!
I think you are a genius. I was trying to figure out how to do the arms of my couch. It has big arm rolls. I don't sew well, so what you did with the arm is wonderful. I will be able to follow your example. I have watched a LOT of these videos, and I think yours is the best. Thank you. You did an awesome job!
The fastest way to get that back curve, is to cut a piece of cardboard the length and curve of the sofa, than flip it over and staple on the wrong side as you did, through the cardboard into the fabric and frame. Then flip it over and staple as usual. It will give you a nice finished edge and use less staples. Great job on the tutorial and re-upholstery!
Sorry, it's really hard to explain. Lay the fabric over the back of the sofa like she did, draped across the front side with the wrong side of the fabric up with just a small amount of the fabric draped over the back side. Then staple a strip of sturdy cardboard that is cut to the profile of the curve through the fabric wrong side into the frame of the back. Flip the fabric over to the back side with right side up, you should have a nice sharp curve without having to staple as closely. Hers looks beautiful, I just thought her hand must have been aching from all those staples. I hope I didn't confused you more.
OUTSTANDING!!! I was given a top name brand floral sofa & loveseat that I would love to reupholster. Slipcovers make my furniture look old and droopy. Thanks for the lessons. ❤
I love how simple you made it look and how thoroughly you explained it. Steps for safety and why certain steps were so important. Turned out great. Thank you for helping us feel brave enough to try DIY. God bless.
Not kidding but I admire you for doing what you’re doing and being a mom supporting a family and still make time to have great looking furniture, really love it. God bless ya 😃
Awesome JOB!!! Some thirty-five years ago I reupholster my sofa, but I did not use a staple gun. I sew everything including the arm siding and backing and used small nails. Thank you so much for a new technique using the staple gun. from Chicago
Gurl ur something else! I need to hire you! Ppl don’t no how hard it is to b a full time mom tutorials cook wash clothes keep the hse clean gurl you need a paycheck from the government!❤️❤️❤️I see jack is the overseer 😂😂😂😂
You are amazing with upholstering. My sofa and loveseat are exactly like yours and I have been wanting it upholstered. Now I can do it myself. Thank you so very much for the videos! Have a blessed day!
I really enjoyed your video. I’m going to attempt this on my sectional. I had it for 8 years and I rather reupholster it than to spend $1200 on a new one.
Over the years I've always wanted to learn Upholstery the community college where I live stop running it but I never could find a great lesson online UNTIL TODAY. I'm naturally skilled but wanted to learn the technique. I must say YOU DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, both with your work and presentation. I can now go and do some furniture that I presently have and always payed someone to cover by watching you do your own. Thank you so much for doing these session. I'm going to do my own before this month out.
Awesome job, I have a couch and love seat I’ve been debating on reupholstering because I’ve seen many videos and hey all make it look so hard, but you’ve given me hope!! They look amazing!
Hello Queenii !! I've never commented on ANYTHING before but i HAD to write this. What an AMAZING job!! You made this look almost easy. You did a great job explaining as you went along and it was helpful that there was no distracting back round music. If this is what you can do in only a few days, i wonder what you can do during a weeks vacation! Love it! I will be subscribing to you... which is another thing I've never done before. You are truly inspiring! Keep up the great work and I'll be there watching. If we lived close, i would offer to help! Best wishes from one do-it-yourselfer to the queen(ii) !!
Thank you so much for that amazing compliment Laura! I have a few more projects planned but some have to be done outside the rain is cramping my style lol hope you enjoy my future videos
Wow what a project to tackle. I've been thinking of doing this too but was afraid. Your tips and instructions are valuable. You've done such a professional job. Beautiful!
I learned like you, trial and error and there are a lot of people watching to learn from people like yourself whom explain very well how you upholster your way love you video love the chair and love your pets!
Queenii you did a wonderful job!! That style of couch is not easy to do. I was so glad to see you reused those pieces from the arms since it would have been difficult to cover that area. Tip You can use trim on the seam along the back of the couch if the staples aren't straight enough.
You're very clever, your instructions are clear and easy to understand. I have a couch exactly the same as this one, fabric and all. I'm going to recover mine now. Thank you xx
You did a fantastic job! I’m impressed how much you’re able to get done in your spare time 🙂 Great series to learn from! And in Canada we call the small nails finishing nails or brad nails.
Wow! You made it look so easy....how much do you charge. I am scared to try re upholstering an older couch but I have the fabric and most of my supplies. I will certainly be reviewing this again and again as I go.
This is great to see! I have the same style 3 piece set with the camel hump back that my cats have done a real number on!! I have everything I need to get going but the only part that is worrying me are the seat cushions. They are are both one large piece with a higher knee roll in front and is sewn in several places. It's not the typical individual 2 or 3 cushions and I've never seen a video showing how to cover one. There is a seam along the top where the knee roll meets the lower part of the cushion that runs all along the top and that's where mine has ripped and separated right through the fabric and the foam. I don't know if I should just get rid of all the old foam and start with new foam but sorting out the heights and densities for the both heights then gluing it all together....shoot me. Or try and work with what is there. I'm not very experienced with sewing yet but actually bought a machine to do this!! And this seat cushion has so many different pieces to sew together like a puzzle with the sipper at the back. I am just not that confident a seamstress at this point. I may just try and cheat and cover the whole thing with one piece and just tuck it neatly. Anything would look better than a ripped couch!! I actually tried to get the big bottom cushion done professionally and they refused because I already bought my own fabric!! ggrrr I still don't understand that!! And I bought fabric with a damask pattern so there's a whole bunch of issues with matching up the pattern everywhere and using up way more fabric but luckily I decided I wanted to use more than one fabric and colour on them to give a more custom eccentric look. I figure if a mess up I can add a nice trim, gimp, braid, rope and I bought 6 inch long really thick fringe for the bottom. Let's hope kitties don't go to town on that!! And I have an ottoman I need to do as well!! But those darn bottom cushions are giving me nightmares! I also bought the cardboard trim that goes under the top part of the fabric where you staple to keep it straight but yours came out really nice without it. Maybe I don't need it. If you have any suggestions for the bottom cushions, I'm all ears. I have 2 cats and a dog as well and they have really destroyed this set, those little buggers, they have so many scratch pads but there's nothing more satisfying than digging those nails into really expensive fabric and shredding it!! I really don't want to put that plastic around the bottom, it looks so old Granny!!! They will be in deep doodoo once I recover everything if they start scratching again!!! Any tips for that? Thanks so much and take good care! LC
now i'm thinking about buying a stapler. you are doing a terrific job and I love the material you picked out. I'm thinking that maybe I'll try something like this. Thank you for putting this on line, Mary
Wow this is an amazing video. I found it in my feed and my first thought was this is gonna be challenging ;but I love that it’s much easier than it looks and you talking the entire time through all the videos helped so much. I have an ugly outdated couch in the basement from literally the 70s and it’s such an eyesore.. but you’ve given me inspiration and I’m thinking I’m gonna give it new life. So thank you so much for this tutorial🤩
I thoroughly enjoyed your video and your lovely manner in which you describe all the steps.!!! Now I feel inspired to get on with the project I had been putting off for so long!!! Thank YOU!! I had been dreaming of finding Victorian style chase lounge to upholster to add to my décor....
Girl me 👏🏽respect👏🏽 you👏🏽. No lie. You just save me money. I can do this for myself now. I know this video is 3yrs old but thank you for uploading. New subsie
I can't believe I'm only just seeing this!!!!! LOVE you Queenii, your so talented, you just gave me goosebumps and so many ideas to try out as I'm moving house and I can't find the sofa I want!!!
Wow... it takes more than patience to do all that work... you have a special gift... it was fun seeing your kids now and then wearing clothes and pajamas... the pets cute also I had the same dog😀... thank you so much for this... you don’t have to apologize for anything we are lucky you downloaded this video... God Bless🙏
Love this video. So far, the must informative and simplest videos I have found. I am moving soon and need to save, so I am going to try your technique on my already owned furniture. Wish me luck.
I love your video, I just bought a love seat and couch that did belong to an old lady and its perfect, except the color. For a couch and loveseat how much fabric will it take.? 20 yds maybe? I want to try just like you.
Omg! What a nice job! I love it so much now I want to cover my couch and love seat!! But you need to come and help me. Lol very nice tutorial! Thank you very much!!
Hahah! Queenii you are genius! I've done similar work with staple gun and some sewing. But I picked up a few new tips from you. Most of all I love your Can do spirit. Thanks for sharing!
I wonder if using cardboard strips on the sides and back would've helped keep the shape at the seams? I have a chaise I need to do and your video has helped a lot! Great job!
Hey Queenii. I'm rewatching this today and as I'm looking at the underside of the couch. Have you ever repaired a sagging couch? I have a leather sectional that has a portion that sits low. I'm sure it is able to be fixed but I'm cheap and would rather do it myself.
Hello Queen I enjoy watching you redo this furniture you are Sooo talented. Ive dome a couple chairs here & there but you got wanting to. Change the color of my Sectional
Good job I did my dinning chairs and I’m going to do my couch next! It was my first time too I had to be careful with my first chair and after that I finished them faster Thank you for advice especially the taking pictures for every step⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !
Amazing job thank you so much. It turned out great. I just bought a high quality sofa $10 I'm so excited to try something like this thanks again appreciate
All I can say is wow wow, what excellent job you did with this sofa!! I'm so glad I watch all three of your videos because I was thinking about getting rid of my sofa that I have now due to my cat scratching on the arm part. Not anymore! Lol I'm going to find me a nice suede material at a fabric store and do this myself. You think I will need a whole roll of fabric for my sofa and two seating pads?
Thanks for watching hun, I want you to measure your sofas with a measuring tape all the parts that have fabric measure. usually a back needs about 2-3 yards front the same and arms about 1-2 yards. If you don't have enough you can always buy some more.
Sweet! I rather do my own furniture too. It’s more affordable for me and I can make it the way I like it. I really am learning a lot from these videos of yours, thank you!
You have inspired me to upholster my own sofa! One question though, in the areas where you did the staples really close to create a shape, could you use that same metal strip with teeth that you removed in part 1?
Excellent video! Thank you! I'm having trouble that my staple gun doesn't seem to put the staples all the way into the wood. Am I missing something? I have a staple gun that is electric.
Thank you for paying attention to the details. It gives a very professional and polished appearance. I also love your voice over. You explain everything, great teaching technique. Also thanks for not having music. One more thing, thank you for emphasizing not to waste material and to no pay full price for retail furniture.
No problem love, Happy you enjoyed my video =)
LifeWithQueenii Hi, How much fabric do u have to buy for a two seater sofa? thanks
This is my 5th video on reupholstering, and definitely the most helpful!! It's exactly how I want to do it as I don't have time for all that pro stuff. Thanks Queenii!!

Calls hubby to the room “ we are changing the fabric on our couches next week “. Great job Queenii ... I’m subscribed to all your channels
lmao yes !
I'm not even trying to upholster a couch, and I'm hooked. Lol
Lisa Pizza ...I'm confused..
Sorry, it's really hard to explain.

R Oki hey hun, you’ll have to add stuffing, you can find it in Walmart fabric section ❤️
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. Can't wait to get started on my couch!

Great job! Where did you purchase the fabric? Exactly what type of fabric did you use? Once again, nice job!
