Fellow bow user W, great comprehensive video! I’d like to say though archers gambit on precisions is very, very meta for pvp *so long as* you have access to hipfire grip in the other column. I’m being so real hipfire grip makes such a difference with freehand grip, it’ll eliminate that worry of consistency from the hip
Also, if you dont have hipfire grip, and have a good bit of handling (see ophidians) you can release ADS right before shooting to proc the perc. VERY good way to go about triggering it on controller but does take a little bit of practice to get used to
@@ghosty5424 i have a whole guide on doing just that lol but I regret making it. I would strongly caution that style. I think Bungie was on the right track giving us Wish Keeper. A craftable exotic bow with strong subclass synergy is something I would like to see more of.
For Hierarchy of Needs I'd personally put it in a unique category where it's great for SPECIFIC endgame PVE. If you want to use cover and range as much as possible, it's simply an S-tier weapon. The damage output, range, primary ammo, add clear power... I think Datto said it best when Hierarchy has a stupidly high bandwidth, it has super high highs and super low lows but the times it shines, it clears house. It deals with chunky enemies, it's efficient and simple to use and the fact it isn't reliant on kills helps it tons. Also it generates a LOT of super energy with the recent roaming super change, it simply does everything BUT the gimmick means it limits your mobility, it's too committal. Not a problem for slow-paced content where you peak corners and stay still a lot like Onslaught, Grand Masters and content with high damage long range enemies, but in content where you don't need the absurd damage output and just want the add clear, other bows suffice without being too committed to staying still.
@@Geist7920 I agree it needs an adjustment, it feels like a product of the era. It had a unique interaction with Warmind Cells that were removed entirely just months after its release. Plus it has no solar synergy despite coming out just 6 months after Solar 3.0. But for what it's worth, in very select content/encounters, it's so good, it's just too narrowly applicable to be considered a good choice in most content. Like Legend of Acrius, it's either a top option or nearly useless...

Been looking forward to this video. 🎉. An absolute badass look at bows. Thank you as well for recently accepting me into Hush clan. Overly excited. Looking forward to just a fun time with fellow bow lovers. Have a great New Year.
I’m only a few minutes in, but do plan on continuing to watch. I use the lethophobia in PvP, even when sweating. Maybe you’ll mention this, but I like running this bow because of impulse amplifier. IA makes lightweights feel really good in PvP, it’s like getting used to using fast ball. I pretty much can’t use a lightweight without it, I find it makes it so much more consistent especially at father ranges. I use disruption break in the 3rd column and rat king in my primary slot. So whenever someone is under 9 resil you can hip fire bow close range and quick swap to rat king to clean up get invisible and heal. Also at longer ranges if your teammates are team shooting with kinetic weapons they can melt if you break the shield for them.
There is so much more to T-Ghoul than meets the eye, if you got pretty decent aim the split isn't really a problem most of the time and it actually helps out a lot by increasing LRod's overall damage radius. Also, having a split seems like a good tradeoff since LRod provides the ability to deal a crazy amount of damage in a single shot without having to even aim at the enemy player, so you can even hit them through cover. That said I completely understand why most players wouldn't like it, especially when legendary bows are so much more accurate and faster.
Nice sequel. Thanks! Have a great New Year! Note: Player base seems to be indeed at an all-time low. I have been running Control (6x6) and many matches it is a 1v1. I thought it was a bug but it has happened several times with me.
Don't forget about the origin perk for Accrued Redemption, like Sundering it's an amazing perk, worth a mention. In case you don't know, it lets you do increased damage to targets with shields. It's the origin perk version of Under-Over.
Nice work, always happy to be a porcupine for your testing (and in scrims...)! Maybe one day Bungie will put their brain in gear and Biting Winds can join the ranks of usable bows. How the mighty fall, eh? Especially when they're playing on Cirrus Plaza...
@Geist7920 using it is mildly cumbersome just bc of the draw time. Other than that I don't mind it. I will say tho I wouldn't use it outside my hyper specific build
I do think that the best overall bow is one with Hipfire Grip and Archer's Gambit, but I get that is very much a MnK setup. But just the freedom of not having to ADS at all plus a respectable 0.89s ttk (if you have max draw on a precision bow with 1x loader mod and Oathkeeper, it's 0.9s without Oathkeeper) makes it super comfortable. Hipfire gives you lots more awareness and no time wasted to ADS, plus it's a bit more convenient for combing with abilities or second weapons. Although, if you're using Oathkeepers the real strength is the predraw where your TTK is literally just the second arrow and that becomes a 0.36s with this setup. For purely dueling 1v1 with a bow, I don't think anything can beat that.
even with oath and a pre draw the ttk will be about a .8 or .9 (depending on if there is a floor like we have tested). the reload is bugged and adds a .6 between shots. hope they fix it soon. either way still good for a bow. BUT. im happy using any lightweight myself. fairly easy to half draw and get around a .85.
I hope we get a lightweight kinetic tremors bow in the future. I really miss being able to 1c1b with lightweights. It's really essential when fighting up close with a moving target.
Wish Ender is by far my go-to bow, sooo good in GM’s. I just crafted Accrued Redemption and I really like it, especially with KT and that origin Trait! Have a Vengeful Whisper with Explosive/Hatchling that’s fun to use as well. I always use a reload mod with them as it seems to just make them feel better.
I typically only use bows on my Hunter in PVP and Warlock for end game PVE but I recently got an exotic Titan Mark with spirit of The Eternal Warrior and Spirit of Scars, might need to rock that with Trinity in stuff like Onslaught.
One thing you didnt mention about Leviathan's breath and that really worth mention is that bow is one of the rare weapon that can cc Boss (with presicion hit), like the spire of the watcher final boss Persys. which is very valuable to be able to cc a boss.
Interesting about how lightweight bows have better velocity than precision when half-drawn. Makes sense why I always have to aim up and lead targets more with my Wish Ender in CQC against trash mobs.
I know most people who love one love both. They seem built very similar. Still an odd choice they went with 2 solar precisions for strike rewards. Good bows though
I think bungie should do something like with the exotic glaives for each class they did but with bows and in the kinetic slot like for titan a stasis precision bow which on kills gives stacks of frost armour (more per type of target killed, 2 in pvp) and while you have frost armour the bow hits slow and bow kills create 3 stasis crystals like a buffed head stone (maybe also rime stealer if the bow isn't too broken with it). for hunters a light weight strand bow that unravels on hit and peirces targets but also gives woven mail for destroying tangles and when they break a tangle it has a short delay then explodes like the old artifact mod which did insane damage and even one hit in pvp. for warlocks its a light weight kinetic bow but its arrows are a combination of the light elements where they apply volatile on hit and the bow has volt shot where the jolts will still be hits from the bow so volatile is spread and on top of all this it has heal clip and when a target is killed by the lightning or volatile or healed by heal clip then this bow fires like it has archers tempo active for 5s, all three of these will obviously be strong and viable in pve but I also made put stuff which could defo make them strong in pvp like a titan using ice fall mantle, there would also be a combo for hunter when running the maelstrom aspect which instead makes it so tangles destroyed with the bow spawns two maelstroms, I think these would be really cool and get more usage of bows throughout the game then there is now and I'm not sure if they will be very broken to the point of nerfs out side of the titan one possibly but I doubt bungie rn would put enough effort in to make more than a single exotic and just make it craftible with a few perks to act like they put much effort
I think hipfire perks are still really good for keyboard and mouse users. When you recommend against them, you should specifically mention for controller users.
@Revadike 9:38 i think i explain the mnk advantage pretty clearly. I truly wish bungie would tweak something to just make hipfire better for all but it is what it is. We really just need better bending for controller. Which for some reason mnk has
Hey, Bleach here, by the way, not all bows have anything to indicate they are at full draw. Whistlers Whim has no bar fill up or lights light up like it's older brother, whispering slab. All bows have their arrows shine starting at the tip ending at the nock when about to reach perfect draw, but it's not something easily noticeable.
What's funny is that throughout history we have had different bows that serve different purposes. Wish Ender for Example can be consider and Aggressive Frame Bow because it's design is based off an English Long Bow (Also Known as a War Bow) due to the amount of strength required to use it correctly. So if Bungie does wanna give bows different "frames" they can very well do so. And as a lover of Archery I demand they do this soon cause only have two bows based off a Recurve and a Compound drive me nuts.
Hi, Veracity here for tghoul bc Geist himself said hi but tghoul is very inconsistent with the 3 arrows and its whole perk but you also need to shoot the groud with perk so you build a very bad muscle memory. I agree with him when he said it's meh.(i have 12k on it and even I say it's shit.) Please don't use it over other exotic bows or just bows in general unless you really wanna use arc hunter or thunderclap titan
It is certainly no beginner bow but very fun if you want to put the time in and build around it though. Synergizes very well with arcstrider and once the exotic perk is going and you chain it, it's a menace. To quote something SighDUX said in our clan scrims when someone called my trinity build oppressive: "Trinity Ghoul is a meme - until it's not."
PvP question here. Do you have any specific recommendations for Sidearms and Shotguns in the Kinetic slot? I personally use a Deadlock with Monarque, but I'm looking to branch out.
Man, I really wish we could activate exotic bow alternate firemode without being tied to hipfiring... I like to hipfire, so it just ruins most exotic bows for me, especially in PVP.
@@fysy9989 that would make them SO much better. Immediately way better control. The issue with bows is you swap between hip and ads so much drawing it's easy to misfire the hip shot. Plus bows are decent at hipfire anyways so not having a normal hipfire is a bummer
You can honestly use them in any content if you're determined. I know a person for each of them that does well. Just know it's very niche and you have to dedicate time to it.
Great video as always man, imo, lightweights are still considerably better than precisions, if we’re talking crucible. It’s all about speed, and not feeling sluggish. I win most 1v1s with Whistlers Whim, with moving target & Archers Tempo. Don’t have time to have wait for a precision arrow that takes a month to load!
I like to run tyranny of heaven in pvp with incandescent, not sure if it does make it so anyone close enough to my first kill would be able to be one hit but I feel it helps
I run the "pve" Tyranny in pvp. Dragonfly and incandescent on an ignition build on Dawnblade: incindiary grenade, snap, amber of ashes.... anything that gives more scorch and spreads it. A bow kill is all you need to cause an ignition after you hit the grenade and dragonfly also does up to 90 damage in a 4m radius. In addition to the scorch spread it's really nice to break up these hand holding play styles and as a lightweight Tyranny doesn't really need the archers tempo perk imo.
Hierarchy of Needs is great even on a Hunter in a GM.While it doesn't have any intrinsic anti champion mods, Hunters have so many ways to go radiant, so you can pop a barrier champ's shield.
Let's be honest, this is a PVP guide. Bows are in a sad state for PVE, the idea of turning over even one exotic slot to a bow in the PVE context is lunacy. Wishender has some mileage with a waveframe or area of denial for quick prismatic/super turnover, but Lemon has been gutted for PVE. PC player perspective.
Bows Are significantly harder to use in pvp than pve, and as a predominantly pve player i had a lot to say there. I personally use wish ender, monarque or tyranny in pve content (yes even raids and gms) and they do just fine for me. Let's face it. Bungie continually turns end game pvp into a plinkfest. And well.... a bow does fine with that. In lower end pve everything is viable so they're great there
Works just fine for me on controller. You don't need to flail your camera around to land the combos. Just use a sens you can confidently land shots with. And make sure to run one AE boosting mod on your helm and icarus on your weapon. That plus oath and you'll land a lot of aerial shots
@ the AE and Icarus is so important, I hadn’t even thought to put them on! Thank you so much. If you find the time, it would be awesome to see you fly and destroy everything with strand haha. Obviously that’s up to you, but know you have a fan, gotta watch all your posts 💪
@taylorduce lol excellent. I have a reputation in our private matches of being allergic to the ground. Im not sure if that always shows in my highlights cause i use a ton of different builds but my favorite is stompeez, a lightweight bow, void and a ton of ae. I like to ambush from the air a lot.
Great job! Gotta share this video, simply not enough views... @kristophershephard7359 Hunter. I use oathkeeper because 500m is the floor and oathkeeper brings me to 530. And I'm okay with that if I get 5 stats at 100
@treyrandall2983 that's a very interesting roll and certainly different from what most will use. I won't discourage you from being different with that. It certainly is going to be very forgiving on missed shots. And by that I mean it won't miss
@@Geist7920 Playstyle is aggressive, set a tangle point. Use it for two things, resting accend fragment & set up for a drive bye with final warning. I realized awhile ago shotguns were a bows bane. So I use Clone aspect & bombardier, this makes my dodge into a panic button. 50% trade other times you get away they back up.
I want wish ender and heirarchy to become a new archetype that intrinsically double bodies. Let them hit hard and be slow yknow
@Geist7920 , it's possible but I'm not a Dev at Bungie. I would be that Chaotic neutral employee who comes across as weird yet brilliant.
12:53 I think you meant to say: draw speed, RELOAD and handling
Haha, is that when he said Accuracy..and I was like Wait, Whah?!?
Yes.
Draw speed. Reload. Handling. AA. (AE too if you fight in air)
Nothing else matters.
@@Veracity98-.- lol it takes a brave few
It is certainly no beginner bow but very fun if you want to put the time in and build around it though. Synergizes very well with arcstrider and once the exotic perk is going and you chain it, it's a menace. To quote something SighDUX said in our clan scrims when someone called my trinity build oppressive: "Trinity Ghoul is a meme - until it's not."
@@mythe6669 Myth, in your hands it's never "not". Please switch your trinity back to meme mode xD
Yep
How would you feel about the exotic bows if a long press reload is required to activate the alternate fire mode?
@@fysy9989 that would make them SO much better. Immediately way better control. The issue with bows is you swap between hip and ads so much drawing it's easy to misfire the hip shot. Plus bows are decent at hipfire anyways so not having a normal hipfire is a bummer
Maybe add the people's channels you tell us to check out in the description. Really want to check out your buddies warlock bow gameplay.
@@desimoto youtube.com/@deadream_3268?si=4J5uR0pIvm1VzZop
@desimoto he doesn't really upload anymore but there are plenty of videos there to get the idea. He's the best bowlock I've ever seen
22:17 so how good would these bows be if the hip-fire style weren't an issue?
You can honestly use them in any content if you're determined. I know a person for each of them that does well. Just know it's very niche and you have to dedicate time to it.
Lemon is my fav. Yet, in PvE before they added subclass verbs the ability to stun, Wishender was boss.
Monarque is the reigning king. Always will be
Great video as always man, imo, lightweights are still considerably better than precisions, if we’re talking crucible. It’s all about speed, and not feeling sluggish. I win most 1v1s with Whistlers Whim, with moving target & Archers Tempo. Don’t have time to have wait for a precision arrow that takes a month to load!
If Whistlers Whim is no longer available, I’d only recommend Arsenic Bite-4b or Tripwire Canary
Tripwire has something about it
How do you feel about archers tempo/lone wolf on accrued? I use oathkeepers so I don’t have to worry about the perfect draw timing
@sleepwave7165 also a viable option. If it feels good use it!
@mythe6669 ive done the same. Its like a legendary but weaker ticuus
@Geist7920 it's just nice to see where near by enemies are through walls and it scares them a bit
No mention for non denoument dragonfly-voltshot??
@@mikeshivak it's good though harder to obtain than tyranny

I think hierachy of needs is perfect for welllocks, and it is quite potent, even for endgame PVE. Sadly, for other classes its indeed meh.
Hierarchy of Needs is great even on a Hunter in a GM.While it doesn't have any intrinsic anti champion mods, Hunters have so many ways to go radiant, so you can pop a barrier champ's shield.
1. Pull Back
2.Release
3. Rinse
4. Repeat
I'll forever prefer Ticcu's over all other primaries

I do wonder what arc subclass synergy you're talking about with Trinity Ghoul. AFAIK it pretty much has zero synergy with any Arc verbs.
@@Revadike spark of discharge and amplified. Trinity is fantastic at wiping trash mobs and therefore keeps you amplified and spawns traces.

Would be funny if you had a second channel called Zeit. So you'd be Zeit Geist 😅

In lower end pve everything is viable so they're great there
What’s your take on Hynra? Bows and strand feels like it needs mnk. I’m on controller and want to fly.
@taylorduce lol excellent.
I have a reputation in our private matches of being allergic to the ground. Im not sure if that always shows in my highlights cause i use a ton of different builds but my favorite is stompeez, a lightweight bow, void and a ton of ae. I like to ambush from the air a lot.
Does accuracy really do nothing for bows? I’d always tried to keep my accuracy up when crafting bows, thinking it would help me hit my shots.
Every test we did said no. The difference isn't obvious like any other stat on weapons sadly
Great job!
Gotta share this video, simply not enough views...
I main Final Warning & a Bow, so sadly all kinetic slot bows are basically not in the game for me (same for all exotic bows, FW is my jam simply can't take it off) lol...
Hope... To not see you in the crucible... Lol
Good day, and the next my guy!

Curious on your thoughts on this roll?
What class do you run with fw? Also UYS is underrated as heck. I run strandlock with FW and UYS(same roll).
@kristophershephard7359
Hunter.
@@Geist7920
Playstyle is aggressive, set a tangle point. Use it for two things, resting accend fragment & set up for a drive bye with final warning. I realized awhile ago shotguns were a bows bane. So I use Clone aspect & bombardier, this makes my dodge into a panic button.
50% trade other times you get away they back up.
I hate stand stills, so I tend to use lots of movement to break up the team...
D2 ain't looking so good. I was queuing regular control for like 12 minutes before i got a full match, it was Saturday and 5 PM (EU time). Makes it hard to grind those pinnacle drops.
