I'm an Ikuhara nerd and so I must say: what appears to be the Utena sword pull is actually probably a Penguindrum reference (which is by extension a reference to the Utena sword pull, he also put a similar thing in his most recent show, Sarazanmai, but it doesn't resemble this either. If you don't get it, basically the director of Utena likes to reuse his own visual language in his other shows, and this doesn't actually look like the original Utena visual used in the sword pull as much as his second show). The silhouettes, the violence, the bursts coming out, the poses, it looks a lot more like how this idea is executed in Penguindrum than in Utena. You can see how in Utena's first sword pull, the bride swoons in her prince's trusting embrace with a suggestion of romance, and in the second one, they use the momentum of their bodies falling apart in order to pull out the sword. Meanwhile, in Penguindrum, the Princess of the Crystal lunges at Kanba while he leans slightly backwards, and she plunges her hand into his chest vigorously. I wonder if there is any meaning to this decision.
Every shot of this ED is taking us more closer what exactly Aerial is as a Gundam this is gonna goes as even more deeper than the theory of whoever get stuffed in Bon from walten files.
Wow...getting PTSD flashbacks from that Drakengard 3 clip. I've never had a "boss fight" be so unfairly hard that I had to look up a TH-cam video just to sync up when I'm supposed to hit a button. For those that don't know, that's the final boss of Drakengard 3. Imagine playing DDR...without being able to see the arrows...and one mistake is an instant failure...and they hide one of the button presses DURING A CUTSCENE.

I don't know, looks like it might just be a coincidence. Synchronized clones dancing in a circle isn't the most unique idea ever and WFM's lacks the flower imagery and the central figure in the Drakengard example.
