- Hello, I am alive! Surely someone has already made an Anthy character study using this song since it is perfect for her?? But I went for it anyway because why not!

God not only is this a great song choice, but there are some really video editing moments, I really like how you put together Saionji, Touga, and Utena removing Anthy's sword

one of the best AMV's ive ever seen, I got Chills by the part where the duelists switch out while pulling the sword from her ? The Utena/Touga/Saionji transition was Flawless

I love the editing choices here, especially the bit at the end with Anthy starting to draw the sword mixes the withdrawing of the swords of hatred, just a really perfect visual for Anthy using her own inner strength to break free of her situation. And of course, the whole song is a perfect fit

Anthy is the sheathe and the shield. The one that holds the prince's blade and keeps him safe from the blades of others. She is also the prize and the property. To be used and abused as the winner sees fit. She has no need for agency. For she does not matter beyond what she can can give to others. What they think and do don't matter for the one she cares for most cares in his own way, and his will will be furthered by her actions.
She doesn't need anything else.
Until someone looks past everything she can give, to see who she is. Until a girl decides they don't want a sheathe or a shield. They don't want a rose bride. They want Anthy. How can what you had be enough, when someone offers you so much more?
