Pulled all the "sport" out of a Cooper S. The lack of visible tailpipes is the worse automotive design choice in years from any manufacturer.
The JCW model will have a visible center exit exhaust like the previous generation
@@patrickmini3775 on my configurator it dosnt shows up lol
Nobody needs „visible tail pipes“….
@@patrickmini3775 he wrote about the S version, which means SPORT, such a stupid decision cannot be defended in any way, especially since the JCW version would have had a single exhaust tip
What the fuck is this. Looks like a ev and not a sports car.
No exhaust, no vents I’m so glad I got my 2024 S with the signature black trim
Great car!
There seems a lot of hate for the new look but like with everything in life it’s subjective. Even though I love my 2010 cooper S I’d certainly go for this new look one day.
I don’t think it will be long before we are seeing these on the road every day.
Hold down the drive toggle to "L" for 30 seconds and it will put transmission into manual mode. You can shift gears using the +/- button on the left side of steering wheel. Really dumb of Mini not to include real paddle shifters especially when not offering a true manual transmission any more.
I don't hate it, but I don't want to buy it either. They changed for a different byer group.
100%. Couldn't put it in any better way. The tail pipes is a big deal.
Petrol Mini Cooper S smoothed out with no exhaust or air vents, trying to look like an EV. Is it gender confused.
A Cooper S and they've removed the paddle shifters from behind the wheel. Well done BMW and MINI
I miss them too
Passionate review on why Mini is so special. Thanks for reminding me that there's only one real small car brand.
Glad you liked it!
Definitely going to be holding onto my F56 until I see what they do with the LCI. This redesign isn’t horrible but it’s massively lacking the Mini character, quirks, and iconic traits it’s been known for.
I miss the hood vent too
white roof and mirror caps, and this thing would look gorgeous
I agree 👍
I really like the rear now.
Glad it hasn’t grown to much in size.
Not a fan of the mouth face or interior
Thanks for the review
Where is the iconic central exhaust pipe???
The JCW model will have a center exhaust
@@patrickmini3775 yes but Cooper S should also have it!
It’s not leather seats - Vescin is MINI’s name for their leatherette material
Just pre-order one, for my wife. Exact same color. Hope they could ship it soon.
Congrats! We're getting them at a decent rate now, shouldn't be too long!
FOG lights (that was iconic:(
2020 mini is my favourite JCW.
It's just α beauty and drives better. A BRG/W in JCW trim is on its way. Haters are gonna hate as always since r53 until they buy it such as the f56...😅
Why didn’t they get rid of that horrible looking antenna.
We are not just getting the S in the US. The base Cooper with a 2.0l 156hp engine will be available in the summer.
Exterior is so blah. I like the interior, but I really miss the hook scoop and the aggressive front end. This looks like a base model from the exterior.
I miss the hood scoop too
The F56 was about Youification. The F66 is about Cheapification.
MINI will be adding to the accessories catalog soon and customization options like in previous models will be available shortly
what a joke....LOL EV models that nobody wants have no tailpipes so Mini in their infinite wisdom don't show tailpipes on a Cooper S.
Sorry, tailpipes are reserved only for the JCW model.
They gotta make money somehow 🥴
my beloved R56 JCW
Awesome car!
Check back soon for my video on the 2025 JCW Countryman!
Beautiful Suzuki swift!… but where is the Mini Cooper S??….
Not a fan of the vibrant silver. If you dont get it on the outside then that should include the inside trim as well. Gold speaker grilles and door handles? No thank you
It's much more subtle in person, but I see what you're saying
Even if I wanted this monstrosity, the customer service at MINI dealerships is trash. Just went to my local dealer to inquire about a test drive, and the sales team could not give 2 craps I was even there. After two MINIs, I'm done. MINI has zero customer loyalty.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent Customer Service at Patrick MINI
How bad can we design a car? ... the car
All downhill since the r53.
I love love LOVE the fact that all the metal accents arent just plain old silver or brushed aluminum. Absolutely enamored with the gols-ish/starlight color on all the brightwork and HALLELUJAH no piano black plastics escept for the small area around the start switch! Piano black accents need to be fired into the sun.
I disagree. That gold garbage will not age well. Very tacky looking
Idc about the tailpipes. What I do care about is why they still have that GIANT antenna. Why can’t we get a shark fin like the bigger mini models?
I noticed that as well. I'm hoping the make a shorty antenna accessory like they have in years past
It’s terrible that MINI offers more HP and then tries to hide it by excluding the trademark tailpipes. If you’re making a I.C.E. Car then be proud and display the pipes! The tail lights are just terrible and not cohesive, taking away any past MINI personality. I pass.
I'd rather have hidden tailpipes than fake ones like most new Audi's
I have mixed feelings, sounds like over time the hard plastics are going to creek and rattle. I have an F56 with more soft touch plastics and there is creeking in the sunroof where there is hard plastic.
While a lot of the materials for the center console do feature hard plastics, I found the overall fit and finish to be much better than previous models
What color would you pick for your MINI Cooper?
Yellow. Perfect for the cleaner exterior.
fell in love with the ocean green one the moment it got unveiled 🤧
BRG/W is my Electric blue replacement (R53) and I can't wait. I love the unique and open interior which after the r53 is the closest to the old mini.
They must be looking for a different buyer. Every year cars change, lose some things and gain new ones. Glad I got the 2024. Manual transmission, hood scoop, sunroof that opens, tail pipes.
I love the interior but the new body style is not for me.
A ladies handbag.
The interior is tragic, non-functional minimalism making it difficult to intuitively and safely use the car's functions in favor of savings under the guise of modernity in the premium segment... No visible exhaust in the S model, a single exhaust tip in the JCW version, no characteristic fuel filler cap. Mini ended with the 2024 model.
AGREED
I was astonished by the lack of any soft-touch plastic anywhere in the entire cabin. If it isn't scratchy upholstery, like on the dash board ala 2008 Chevy Cruze, then it's hard plastic. There are no paddle shifters either. Most of the examples on my local MINI lot were all $37K and above so I ask, where is all that money going now? It certainly isn't the interior like it used to. And now I learn from this vid there are no visible tailpipes. It's not a design decision, it's a cost cut and again I ask, where is the money for a $37K+ CooperS going then?????? Total rip off. Get a VW GTI instead.
The dash is made of a recycled mesh material that is backlit with color changing ambient lighting
Dude, your audio is terrible. Turn down the microphone, please.
Working on it 🙃
Awesome. It will pay you back promise
That is one sad looking mini. They have ruined all the character of the interior .It has lost of what I have in my jcw . It is very bland .Which means there is nothing what so ever in the interior that's interesting to look at and touch. The tail lights and the full tailgate of the mini is just a mess. The lines don't flow . The front grill will be just a chip magnet with the color coded centre piece . If this is what will be on sale when I go to change my present car I'll be looking at a different manufacturer.
While the styling has been smoothed out, it retains the classic proportions seen in all previous Coopers. The interior, while simple, has way more features than ever seen in a MINI and the new 9.4 inch OLED display is fantastic to use and looks great. The driving excitement in the S matches the previous generation JCW and handles like a dream. I do miss the hood intake though.
@@patrickmini3775 The S doesn't match the previous jcw power. It's slower less bhp and as far as I can see gets less mpg than the jcw I have just now a 2021 That's according to other reviewers. I also can't seem to find the more features you refer to. The only thing I see is a bigger screen. Seems more the thing they have reduced alot of the inside to save money on manufacturing process. Which makes the cabin seem bigger as there is less in it. It Is bare to the point boring. That front end will cost people who buy it alot in repairs for sure . The mess that will get in will be shocking.
"Woo-Hoo" sound is so dumb.
You can turn them off if you want, I could see it getting old after a while
@@patrickmini3775 Good to know. Thank you!
Two hands on the wheel please. Sloppy driving style.
Rear and interiors are awful
i agree
the new design since 2023 is aweful. RIP Mini
Strange mix of sad and hideous
This for some reason popped into my feed. This car is NOT A MINI, it is in fact a hideous BMW- in no way shape or form is this car in any way British. Total pile of shite I would not piss on if it was on fire.
it´s terrible
Poor design
