I just got one as well. It is an awesome chair. Bright yellow tennis balls aren't all that aestheticly pleasing when hunting, so I'm modding your mod and going with black racquet balls...

Excellent review, I spent a while looking for a review from a big guy like myself on this chair! I'm glad it works for us guys who like our food ;)

I was just about to look into buying a different camping chair. I'm really glad I decided to do a bit more research and run into your video. I'm a bigger guy, so having a sturdy chair is important. Looks like I'll be buying this chair in the near future. Definitely going to check out your other videos.

I wouldn't be surprised if Helinox turns your tennis ball mod into an optional accessory for this chair. Good review!

Yup, works great. I accidentally made the holes in the tennisballs slightly smaller than the end of the feet (like you did), which helps a lot because they won't slide of when you lift up the chair to move it.

Great review! Excellent tip on the tennis balls too!!! I bought the Alite Mantis, Helinox, and REI Flex Lite chairs to see which I like best. The REI has the same frame as the Helinox, but it's seating material isn't quite as wide, so it's not as comfortable. The Alite Mantis has a considerably higher back and wider seat, so it's more comfortable, but it sits 4" closer to the ground, which sucks getting out of. The BEST chair would be if the Alite Mantis were raised 4", but it only holds 250lb.

A little tip as a Helinox 1 chair user since they came out.
If you interlink your fingers of both hands and put behind your head to support your head you can go to sleep in the chair very easily and very comfortably. ;-))

I'm a big/thick girl and I was worried this chair wouldn't hold my weight since all the girls they show with Helinox chairs are small n supper skinny. Very helpful vid.

Believe me when I say a lot of us men much prefer a big / thick girl. Far more comfortable for cuddlin’ !

Great idea with the tennis balls. I wonder if you could maximize the bag space, maybe by using halves of 2 balls.

Dope vid! Just got this chair and table from supreme and I'm no small guy either so I'm really digging the weight capacity. Plus the portability is awesome for a camp chair.

Hi Mike. I'm a big guy like you, but my knees gave out a few years ago. The only way I could access a chair that low is if I could figure out how to extend the length of the legs . . . maybe with some aluminum tubing that would fit over the existing legs. Do you think that would be doable? Thanks for showing the chair to us.

Great review! How is it holding up? Does it still feel solid?
I ask because after 9 years, if yours in this video is a solid as the day you bought it, then it's indescribable, right? LOL

As an owner of one (in camo!) I agree it sinks in soft ground otherwise it's an 9/10 for me!

Great review and good tip on the tennis balls. I'm looking at getting this chair from MEC myself. I'm hoping the tennis ball trick works in snow as I think this chair would be really comfy in my hot tent :)

3 yrs ago I watched this vid and inspired me to buy the Sunset chair, I'm big/ thick. Pretty heavy and my chair still holding strong. I had a friend who is lil over 300lb sit on my chair with out asking n I swear i had fear in my eyes. she is heavier than me and I thought it wouldn't hold her but it held her during the out door concert. And i still have it working like a charm. I have this chair too which holds me too. But I wanted to rest my head since I go to movies at the park n sunset chair is really nice. Just buy small dog balls for the bottom u sink lol

Specs at the bottom of the video say load capacity of 230 lbs. Is that correct? I thought it was in the 300's.

True story. I've been looking at these chairs for a few days, but I've seen lots of complaints about sinking. So I'm thinking to myself why not use some tennis balls. Two days later I see this video. I just laughed and said "well shit, I guess it works"

Quick observation....if you are a big fat camper/hiker carry heavier equipment to help melts those pasty cheese burgers away and get lighter equipment as you don’t have to worry about breaking it. Simple concept
