I don’t know if you have heard this tip, but my aunt (who is an excellent hostess) buys up the clearance Easter bunnies or other holiday chocolates. She freezes them until she needs them and then melts them down to dip fruit or decorate cakes, etc. It is much more affordable that way.
Been watching since 2014-15-ish. You were still teaching. Dont know why I'm reminiscing today. Thank you for sharing. I remember Luna, Carson as a baby, Owens birth, cooking with Carson, your brother. Youve been a constant companion to this mom. ❤ 😊 thanks again. You channel is my me time.
I love your channel! I’m 75 years old and I remember what it was like before Dollar Tree. We would spend a fortune on wrapping paper and ribbon every Christmas. Not to mention all the other wonderful saving items that are available now. Thanks so much for your fun videos!❤
I used to love getting Christmas presents from my grandparents....at the time they lived in a different state and grandma didn't buy wrapping paper....she'd use the comic section of the newspaper LOL....we'd try to carefully unwrap our presents so we could read the comics afterwards LOL. If she didn't have newspaper she'd wrap stuff with butcher paper instead. If I ever give anybody anything as a gift I never bother wrapping it, I just hand it to them...why waste the paper. Anymore I typically just give gift cards and let them go get whatever they want....did that with my 2 younger cousins, or I'd give them cash, either way, they were able to use the gift card or cash for whatever they want, I don't buy store specific cards, just the regular generic Visa gift cards so they can be used anywhere. To be honest I think the kids like that better anyways, it gave them spending money LOL.
Mrs. Adams, you must remember obsolete stores like Yellow Front, or Woolworth. Dime stores were gone by the time I came along in 1969, but we had both a Yellow Front and either a Woolworth or a Wolco (I can't remember which) in my hometown growing up. I also remember the department stores offering layaway plans, as credit cards were still fairly unusual in the early70s. I miss those days so much. I miss the Sears.Wishbook. my siblings and I would spend hours pouring over the pages, dog.earing pages and then circling what we wanted Santa to bring us. I also used to drool over all the Halloween costumes. It was my dream to order a Renaissance princess costume, or a Southern belle costume. We never bought costumes growing up. We made them out of things around the house. The good old days.
@@ohmightywez hello! We had Woolworths and JJ Newberry in our town. I remember getting cherry Cokes at the Woolworths lunch counter. And I loved the Sears catalog, especially the Christmas edition. I remember downtown is always busy and bustling. There was a popcorn vendor that looked like a circus wagon parked on the street. My memories come flooding back. Thank you so much for your comment.❤
Yellowfront stores were out west. They began as Army/Navy surplus stores, but later expanded their offerings. I always bought jeans for the whole family there.
Katherine you always look like a million bucks. Please, please tell us your secrets to keeping up your nails, hairstyles, makeup and wardrobe. It costs so much for self care these days so any tips are much appreciated.
I honestly don't understand how you come up with these ideas so frequently, using items that are affordable and accessible to those of us who are on a budget. Your creativity is just on another level. Thank you so much for helping us turn our house into a home without breaking the bank! ❤
Kathryn, you have NEVER made a video that I haven't loved. You have helped me in so many ways since I found you quite a few years ago before you had 10K subscribers and now you have close to 2.5 MILLION!! And you deserve each and every one. I know that number is going to continue to climb for as long as you continue to make content. I love that you are a North Carolina girl just like me. ☺️ I truly appreciate all of the hard work and time that you put into every single one of your videos. You are simply the best with your demure and cutesy self 😅 Please keep being your beautiful inside and out self that we've all come to know & love. I have had some really bad days through the years, especially when I had my right hand amputated and you continuing to tell me that "I am enough ", has gotten me through those dark and difficult times and I just wanted to let you know that you truly are making a difference in people's lives and I'm living proof of that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear lady. May God continue to bless you and keep you and your family. Sending you lots of love from East Bend, NC ❤ Sheri ❤

katherine I just wanted to be the first to make a comment. I wish my voice sounded as Joy filled as your voice. I'm going to work on that. Our Dollar trees are just now starting to add an aisle of Dollar Tree plus items and I must say they are worth the money. I love pulling apart various items and making them my own. And thank you for always reminding us "you are enough".
I have a white frame with a sheet of that first wallpaper in it in my bathroom. I also used the leftover wallpaper to change the background of a perpetual calendar I have. I also used the blue & green wallpaper in my craft room in the space between my counter backsplash and the upper cabinets. It completely upgraded the area and only cost me $7.50 and 10 minutes for applying. It’s so pretty.
Thank you for all you do. Watching your videos has helped more than I can mention. Hearing from you that ‘you are enough’ saved me a few times, when I was feeling low or isolated. Thank you ❤
Hi Kathryn! I was chatting at DT last week and shared your channel with a shopper lol. You know I absolutely love you and all you share with us! Wanted to say, my store had some fall leaf sprigs in the most gorgeous blue and purple- not bright but like fall foliage. It’s gorgeous
Katherine, I repurposed my Dad’s armoire after he passed. I used wallpaper #1 in the drawers, and it looks so good!!! Then I found a couple wooden serving trays at a local thrift store. I used #3 on the bottom of the tray to give it a new look!
Your creativity is absolutely inspirational every single time! I'm getting a Dollar Tree by my home since $.99 was bought out by them, and I cannot express how excited I am!!!!!
