It's interesting how different the post-Uematsu music sounds in FF. Nobuo's music always sounded to me like a "rock band with an orchestra". It's sort of as if Deep Purple was writing epic orchestral songs, with very strong motifs and some heavy guitars. To me that's _the_ sound of Final Fantasy. Sure, not all of the music sounds like that, but there are enough iconic big pieces like this to fill a few good albums. Post-Uematsu the music has become a bit more atmospheric and it was almost like it was more about describing the "vibe" of the world or a scene, rather than building a strong motif. Unfortunately with that type of writing I sometimes struggle to pick the pieces apart from each other. Now with Soken, I feel like this original sound that I loved so much is coming back and I couldn't be more excited about it.
Need more FFT covers! Pray'n that the rumors of a remaster/remake are true....and that they don't fook it up. Also the transition from 8 into 9 is too smooth hang on rewind Legen....wait....hang on....DARY! BRUH THESE TRANSITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FLAWLESS! 14 into Type-0 into 13-2 into ayayayaya

I LOVED that you also included spin offs, Type-0 and especially all FFXIV expansions. FFVII Remake too. Great stuff bro.
So glad I finally got time to listen to this whole medley. My initial response is that Yuna's theme was my favorite but the Final Fantasy III choice went surprisingly hard

All worth it for a series I know you love so much. 😌 I like that you didn’t stick to just the battle themes too! But when that Airbuster section hit though… Man that was hype!! Amazing work my dude!
Thanks Gab! One of the things I kept in mind was to have some mood variety there, it's easy to feel inclined to stick to battles haha but there's lots of great tracks in the series :D Glad you liked it!
Awesome collection and some surprising choices - going for bangers that might not be people's first pick, especially for FFXIV. Maker's Ruin over Torn From the Heavens, and To The Edge over Who Brings Shadow? Absolutely brilliant choices and a good showcase over the first picks of most. Have to admit to laughing when I saw the framerate issues for XIII-2, but I have issues with that trilogy in general so...not a big deal there. Looking forward to seeing more!

FF is the best game franchise when it comes to music hands down : ) At least in my opinion anyways haha. If you're looking for the best music in video games my advice goes like this... Just about anything from Square... FF7... Chrono trigger... Secret of mana... These are like the goats to most folks lol. And there's wayyy more. Uematsu is the king of game music! Just about anything from nintendo... How can anyone hate the Ocarina of time sound track? Wayyy too memorable. Also wayyy more. Gotta love Koji Kondo! Then the outliers who often kill it as well. It can be harder to find music you like here than from square and nintendo in my opinion but it's totally possible : ) Souls games. Elders scrolls. Persona. Battle toads. Double dragon. Dark cloud. Metal gear. Halo. Star craft. Diablo. Resident evil. Silent hill. Shadow of Colossus. Contra. Ninja turtles. command and conquer. Age of empires. castlvania. Megaman. Street fighter. Dead of alive. Even a spiderman game from LJN back in the day called maximum carnage has super dope music and that company was over all complete garbage lol. Even many terrible online only micro transaction unfinished games can have some dope tracks lolz. Not just long live FF. Long live great video game experiences period! But let's get real... ESPECIALLY long live FF haha!

I really loved the touch of the voices to Yuna's Theme, paying respects to FFX being the first fully voice acted game in the franchise.
